  1. Correct... nothing to complain about there. So a good port job and advancing the timing will be a good investment then for this bike? It runs really well now, I just had all my 2 strokes ported in the past, just not this one yet. So if I go with a high more aggressive port job on it, running the higher octane fuel, how much should I advance the timing?
  2. I really don't want to change my current setup, I just want to port it for sure, and advance the timing, etc.
  3. Was that a stupid question? I just don't know what I should do here guys... I am going to get a dune port as I ride basically as a hillshooter and race around... I just don't know about the crank and if I should do that or not... I know someone here has to have experience with the cranks going from stock to a 4 mil. And the timing. The bike ran like new all of last year and like I said the first time I fired it up this year as well over the weekend. Drained all the fluids and didn't start it once over the winter because of it... filled it up, she fired up in 2 kicks... makes me think I should just let it alone! But I would really like to at least port it and advance the timing, just don't know how much, and if I should do the crank as well. I am in Central Pennsylvania, don't know my altitude but I am running 105 octance through it... 116 Cam 2 and 93 pump mixed half and half, along with klotz techniplate 40:1
  4. Hey guys... haven't been on in a while, but then again, I haven't been riding. But I took the bike out for the first time over the weekend, it ran really good... took out some 450's and another bashee, also hillclimbed very well. Just overall ran very good. But I have some questions... I want to get the bike ported as it is not ported and polished yet. I also saw you guys talking about advancing the timing. Maybe I'll do that too, +4 do you think? So those are the two definate modifications I want to do to the bike, just need some input on the timing and what I will gain from that. I also would like to know about the crank. Should I go bigger or keep the stock crank and stroke? I know many times you cannot port it after you do it once with the stock crank. Should I go with the bigger crank, like a 4 mil? I know it has alot to do with money, but will I really see a difference with my mods... or should I keep the stock crank? I need some input here... So definately porting her, and advancing the timing since that is a cheap mod. But I am really considering this 4 mil... I just do not know what it will cost, and how much I would gain.
  5. I take it nobody is interested then
  6. DG Alloy series Race peg nerf bars for sale... got them and decided I don't want the extra bulk. The peg is really nice and they are definately lighter than regular nerf bars in general. My warrior has them on and they are heavier and my old 250r nerf bars were as well. These are very light and very nice. I paid 290.95 for them. I will not even get half that back. Was wondering if anybody is interested? Pic is below. Make me some offers.
  7. Hahahaha everyone has their own case man. You know us coal region rednecks roll. Thanks to everyone for all the valuable information. Thanks for the compliments on the bike.
  8. I do not know what he ran through it but I do know it's clean. I took notice on some posts on here that u guys said do it after every couple rides (20 hrs.) What should I run in the tranny here? I know alotta guys have their preferences but I am taking it you guys know what the hell you are doing. Where do I drain it at and also I know its about 1.6 quarts withought taking it apart?
  9. Yes, I do have a fuel filter. Wasn't originally on there but I put it on last week. A must for dust and coal around here. As for the grease fittings, I actually forgot to m ention those but I am going to do that. Thanks for reminding me. Anything else anybody can share with me here?
  10. OK guys. I am going out saturday and sunday. I got my bike last week and rode it 2 days, about 1-2 hours on it. I got it from a guy who maintained it very well. Friday night (2 days) I am going to get a case of beer with the guys and we are having a maintenance night for the shees. I already did the plugs, air filter and tightened the chain/lubed it, and wd40'd the kicker. What should I be doing now since I got it from another guy? The bike's engine oil is crystal clear and the coolant is at a good level and color. Anything I should be doing? Maybe drain the gas tank or tranny fluid? ANY advice would be wonderful here guys, you are all great guys and very helpful to me. Thanks, Tony
  11. I know how to do most maintenance needed for the 'shee since I had a 250r but I would like to have a clymers manuel anyways. Anybody know where the cheapest place to get one? Or does anyone have one?
  12. As you guys have seen in a few of my posts, my bike is beating the 450's and not yet a raptor as I haven't raced any. Not to worried about racing though, I love hillclimbing the coal hills around here. Anyways, the bike is running better than I could ever ask for. I have most of the bolt ons done but I want to get it ported over the winter when I rip it down to powdercoat the frame. Other than porting, what else should I do? I heard the timing/flywheel key is a good, cheap investment. I do not want to bore above my standard stock bore until I need a rebuild since it runs like new right now. But I think I wanna do those two to it. Any other advice? O yea, with my quad, what color for the frame and swingarm? I was thinking zest orange. Tony
  13. Nobody has the raptor 700's where I live but I can't even take a breath of fresh air without breathing in exaust from a 450. I can't ake it anymore. And they all think they are kings. I don't like to race but if it shuts them up, then so be it. I won't race on dirt or gravel because I will just spin like a bat outta hell. But a fair race, if you ask me, is on the asphault. Everyone knows banshees spin loike a mother and dirt just doesn't cut the cheese. As for the mods, I wanna get a major port job over the winter and maybe some timing. I will not bore up until she makes her final scream with the stock bore.
  14. O man. You guys are something else. Half you guys have more mods than I do, and can't beat 450's and raptors. Yesterday (Sunday) I had 3 separate guys come up to me on 450's and ask to race. Beat all of em. Only 1 kept within 10 ft. I would love to have half the mods you guys have. I don't even have a port job and I am running standard bore. If you can ride, I'm taking a banshee hands down on asphault with pipes, head and a set of domes with proper jetting. That is all that is needed because in a matter of a week and a half that I had my bike, I am like 10-0 against 450's of all shapes and sizes. I mean HANDS THE F*&K DOWN, it shouldn't happen. Keep it on asphault, launch in 2nd, and scream it. I didn't even need to hit 6th gear because they were topped out and I was laughing while looking back. Look at my mods too. Half you guys said my 2 into 1 carb would suck. It has more top end than my cousin's with the same setup except he has dual carbs. If you are a good rider, you will beat the 450's and raptors, not on dirt though. I didn't try it and never will. Good luck. O yea, I am 240 pounds too. I plopped a set of 22 inch dirt devils on and these other bikes had I think 20's or maybe smaller on the suzukis. They were also very skinny individuals. Learn how to launch it in 2nd without pulling up, and when you keep it on the ground, give 'er f87king hell.
  15. There was a family of moles, a mother, father and their little baby mole. They woke up one morning in their hole and decided to go out and catch some breakfast. They all start climbing up the hole to the top with the father first, mother second and the young one third. All of them smell something. The father says, "I smell pancakes". The mother sniffs, and sniffs again. "I smell bacon" she claims. The young one takes a good wiff, and he is behind the first two moles in single file. He sniffs and says "I smell mole-asses"
  16. I was surprised. I hooked ub but I launched it in 2nd. After that I was just looking out the corner of the eye for him. Nothing. Anyways, until someone gets a 700, I will be just hillclimbing and roosting around. I love this thing. I was always a good rider but didn't expect to hop on this thing and ride it like a man. A little getting used to first maybe. The old 250r worked over doesn't compare to this bike at all. But it just seems like it was meant to be, me and Delilah.
  17. The 450 didn't hold a candle to the shee today. I beat him by 4 bike lengths. This setup is pretty good guys. Delilah was smokin' today
  18. Well guys, this is settled. We raced and I won by 4 bike lengths and this was more than when I raced the same bike with my 250r. I guess this setup isn't all that bad. Hooked up, beat him off the line and finished ahead. I was pretty happy with this overall. Climbed a few hills and I must say that i can't tell the difference from my cousin's bike (same year, dual setup). I did find more bottom but couldn't even try to find the lost top end. Pretty good hiding spot I guess Named her "Delilah" by the way... My friends and I have been doing this to our sport quads since we were riding as young guns. Sarted after we watched the movie gone in 60 seconds. Fast cars, girl names.
  19. Ok guys. Lots of good information. So what i decided to do is going to get a snap on or the sears one. these have the connector that i need to be finger tight?
  20. Yea, try it. At least you din't do what i did one time. I stripped the plug and spent 2 days of frustrated concide chizeling to finnally get it loosened up. Thank god yamaha made their cases and plugs out of white metal. It was easy to get a bite on with a screwdriver and other tools. Even so, it still was a son of a bitch. But for you, if it doesn't drain out then maybe you could take you oil tank out and turn it upside down to get the ring to come back to the hole. Shake it well as it will probably be stcking to everything due to the oil in there. Good luck man
  21. You might be eble to get it out by putting some oil back in and draining it out. If it is the little o-ring on the dipstick, it might flex and come out. Probably not though.
  22. Thank you faster. One more thing... when I get it and check the compression, with my mods about how much should it have to be considered good? It seems good but I would like ti check it every now and then. And what would be bad?
  23. How much do they usually cost and what is a good brand? With this info, I can start my hunt for one. Thanks guys
  24. Ok boys, help me out. I need one. I was looking on ebay and they have a few but not sure if they are the right type. What should I get here. Most have a title of "automotive engine compression checker/guage". Is this it? Thanks
