Installing a degree key to go +4...

The coal crackers are all pissed off today... Meat, where are you from in Shamokin? I am right up the road -
What spots are you guys going too... proably somewhere incredibly fucking cool that I would want to be. The bus stop hills? The 5th ward? Tell me so I can think all day Saturday of how I could be climbing if my bike was running good but instead I am wrenching bolts on a Saturday. I am sure I will have fun... Butch seems like a great fun guy, I am sure he wouldn't mind if I brought some brews to make this headache a little easier while working on it  When this is all said and done, I am going to drink myself into a coma so I wake up to a good running bike and don't remember anything that happened in the past :: :woot:

I ran a +4 on my Honda 250r and a +7 on my warrior. Never had a problem in 7 years. I agree the plates are much easier and you don't have to worry about them or read stuff that will make you wonder on here -

Holy shit Matt, never thought you had that kick your ass attitude in ya... These guys would have to see your bike on these hills in person.... first they would have to try and climb those hills, then see your bike scream up them. Not to mention it's not all just the bike either. Someone's gotta take the pilot seat -
Me and the big Al are going to work on it again tomorrow.... if nothing, Delilah is taking a road trip down south for a day to visit Butch and his banshee cub

Where I'm at on the bike
TeamRealtreeHD replied to TeamRealtreeHD's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Between the intake and the built in crossover. It is an o-ring problem I believe.... but STILL not enough to cause this lag. I am putting my money on the reeds being pinched or cracked. Butch, once again, thanks alot. I'll keep in touch with you tomorrow. Maybe I won't even need to come down because I might just rip that intake off tomorrow and check the reeds out. But I still want to come down and have you do a few things to this to make sure. -

I thank you for trying to help, I really appreciate it. If it's not the TINY air leak we have, which it's a possibility, who knows. I doubt with the way it is running that that is the entire problem. I am going to to Maryland on Saturday to meet up with Butch (00tbanshee) at his place to swap parts out since he is running a 200 and he runs Kevin's motors. -
Count me out... going down to Maryland Saturday to work on this thing with Butch, one of Kevin's racers (00tbanshee)

We found an air leak in the intake... hopefully this is where the problem is... didn't show up earlier but while spraying contact solution on the intake, it is slowing the rpm idle down a tad. So we migth have found something -

I've had it there several times... maybe 3 to be honest I had this.... and no joke.... I said it before Everywhere from 162 mains and 52 pilots to 148 mains and 45 pilots AND.... the needle on every one of those jetting.... on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th clip.... on every jetting stop along the way. It took me days, ;eading me to be pissed. And also the air screws everywhere from 1.5 turns to 2.5 turns every stop along the way. -

No I didn't... I'll have to do a part swap on those with a buddy. Thank you for that little piece of advice. Anyone out there, please chime in. Me, a local motor builder, etc. We are stuck in quicksand here -

We covered everything Kevin has told us so far... I have these questions because I got my hands dirty too... was over there since the a.m. working on it as well. Myself and 3 well known bike mechanics say this is not jetting. I wish someone on this forum can try and jet it to proove it's not jetting. -
My bike is defiantely down for the count... not even the local engine builder can figure this one out. It is rather amusing to be honest. I'll guard the beer on my Suzuki 4x4 with the cooler on the rack. So I'll still go. But the banshee is down and like I said, the local engine builder who did a few banshees in his time can't figure it out. All day and no luck. Pickup gap, stator, took the timing back to 0, +2, etc. Nothing. Nothing on the leakdown test.
-
No jetting issues, plug chop prooved that today. Checked flywheel, stator, etc. Everything is good. Pulse is good. Put 104 Octane in it, still no luck. Took my timing back to 0, or stock timing, and nothing. So where in the heck do I look for low end bog/lagging? Oh, and no air leaks/leaking on the leakdown test. Does anyone here think with my modifications in my signature written at the bottom of this post thin kthat 33 mm PWK carbs are too big, causing no low end.... I mean no bottom end at all whatsoever. This bike honestly takes 3 seconds maybe 4 seconds when you punch it to hit the power. Very disappointing. So where do I turn to now? What do I check?

Good advise for sure... Tyler knows his stuff. But HillClimbr is a Pa boy... I think he might be shooting some coal hills like us. Straight shots on these hills are a tad different than racing to the top of those jumping hillclimbs under a timer. They will be 2 different setups. They might be running even shorter gears than us. And certainly not 22" tires most will run up here.
-
I like the tread for the hillclimbs. And they are not that heavy. They make them in a 21" rear. That's not a 22", but not as small as a 20". Right in the middle, might do good on the hills here. And they make them in 8" for my rear beadlocks. Anyone ever use them? I think they might be a good tire from some of the reviews, and the tread is very similar to the Vampires and Dirt Devils we run here on the coal hills. I might be giving them a try.
