I have a set of "as close as you can get" to brand new front stock rims. I will let them go cheap. Let me know if interested. They will come with the stock tires too for no extra cost.
-
Yea, I usally go 1/4 through .5 to get a good one. I have the space to do it too so all is good. Plug chopping is fun!
-
Yes, it works... I just rated you 1 star lol j/k I actually did sand it worked. You now have some stars

Yea, my research leads me to believe the 33's are a better choice for playing, duning and dragging the bike at the dunes or hills. The smaller ones will give you a little more bottom end which is nice as well. But like Butch says... listen to the guy building your motor. He will set you up to fly

Yes, Pauly John's banshee is in my garage ripped apart. We are waiting on his lazt ass to go get a spindle off some guy. And I am working on some other things, like his plastics. He should be up and running tomorrow night or Thursday. Hopefully it stays in one piece until then...

Pauly-John and Doug will be in for sure. I talked with PJ tonight and he is going. Doug goes with us everytime we ride, so he is in too. Pauly John lol

diff. between 110 oct. and premix! HELP
TeamRealtreeHD replied to 907banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yamaha recommends 24:1 I believe with their Yamalube You will be ok with 32:1, 36:1, 40:1 with any good 2 stroke oil. I use Klotz Supertechniplate. Many others do as well. Castor 927 is another popular oil Good luck and stick with Premium pump gas -

shee4speed... I need to chop a few at the end of the week (Thursday or Friday). I plan on doing 2-3 chops on either Thursday or Friday. I want to test 3 sets of mains to see what is the best. I only did one at a time, sidposing the plugs, and not being able to compare all 3 at the same time. I was to do that, especially before the weahter cools down. That is why I want to do it this week. I want to jet it spot on right now as this is my prime riding temp and weather. So when it gets warmer, it will richen just a hair, not much. And I don't ride in anything cooler so I will be good. I know it is close... really close right now. But I want to compare a few different mains... just experiment a little. Maybe on Thursday or Friday you fellas can take a look at the plug chops and give me your input as well. Most wouldn't complain with the way the bike runs or the way the plugs look.... but I want to make sure that the right size is definately in there. So I will post pics for everyone here to take a look at. I plan on testing: *158 mains- Size bigger than what is in it now *155 mains- size in it now, and running great, plugs burning nicely *152 mains- 1 size smaller than what is in it now I will gap 6 plugs between now and then and get them ready... I have been eyeballing it too, but I want to get really specific here... Someone else told me a dime too... that is what I used when I first started chopping plugs on this motor. I marked a brand new, never used NGK that I chopped and measured with a dime. I have been eyeballing and using that plug as a reference for where the ring should be. This has been my method, but I thought today "that is kind of not accurate". But I guess it kind of is. 1mm isn't that big and a dime can't be that far off... But I know a dime is almost exactly 1mm thick. Just thought maybe someone had a measuring device of some sort. So I was wondering what everyone else did. I didn't know if there was any guages out there. So when it gets warmer, it will richen just a hair, not much. And I don't ride in anything cooler so I will be good. Man, I just go on tangents sometimes... sorry for getting off topic there. But what is everyone's method? We have a dimex2 so far... and it is ironic, because that is what I have been using.

What are you guys using to measure the ring at the base of theplug when you chop it? What kind of measuring tool/device? Does anybody have pics of a good ring that I can compare mine to? Or something that is really close?

Wow, I am surprised at how many people are using the Sunoco stuff. I will continue to use it, it has been serving me well. Seems like it is very consistent and such. The plugs look the same all the time. And I did another plug chop and it looked identical as the one I did last week. Seems to be good stuff. I read up online and it gets good reviews from the dragsters and hot rod drivers at dragstrips. They prefer it over other fuels and most dragstrips are now starting to carry it as well.

That doesn't look too good...

Do you have a second bike or just switch setups?

I have a choice between VP and Sunoco CAM2 fuels around here. The VP is very expensive... $65 for 5 gallon. And it's not C12. It is VP red. CAM2 goes for $42 for Standard (purple 110), $44 for Supreme (112 Blue) and $49 for Maximal (red 116). I buy the Maximal 5 gallons, and I mix that with 5 gallon of 93 Sunoco pump. That is another $20 for the 5 gallon of pump. $69 for 10 gallon of 105 octane after mixing... just what I need too. Add $7 for 16 oz. of Klotz, and I need 2.5 for mixing 32:1. That's another $17.50. $86.50 total for 10 gallon. Not as bad as it could be if I used VP fuels. And I don't have a problem, and never did in the past, with the Sunoco race fuels. What are you guys using (the ones who run race fuel) and why?

Not in a million years man... sorry. Dyno is wrong, or you are BSing us . One of the two

19cc,20cc,22cc domes! help please!
TeamRealtreeHD replied to 907banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yes, 19cc is a very popular choice. It lets you run pump gas, but highers the compression enough to make some good power. But the main thing is you can run pump gas. That is cheap and easy... unless you want to make a monster of a motor, the 19cc dome is a good choice. You want to stay away from buying race gas if you don't need to... it will get expensive quick. Gas is expensive enough the way it is, why make it any worse? Good luck -
diff. between 110 oct. and premix! HELP
TeamRealtreeHD replied to 907banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Pump gas is usually 93 octane that you can buy at the normal mini marts and gas stations. Usually the premium gas. 110 octane is race gas, and a banshee doesn't need that until the compression gets higher to help prevent detonation.\ It can be purchased at ATV shops, hot rod shops, drahstrips, etc. In your case, just use the good preium pump gas from a gas station until you choose a cool head and dome. When you do that, the size of the dome will decide what gas is needed... -
19cc,20cc,22cc domes! help please!
TeamRealtreeHD replied to 907banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
The smaller the dome, the more compression it will yield. That will give you the most power. Usually 19-22cc domes can use pump 93 fuel. 18 cc is usually a 50/50 mix and anything below 18cc is usually needing race gas as it highers the compression that much. Displacement is in the cylinders... -
diff. between 110 oct. and premix! HELP
TeamRealtreeHD replied to 907banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
It all depends on the compression on your motor. Adding smaller domes or advancing timing will higher the compression, therefore, the need for race gas. As of right now, if you don't have much of that done to the bike you can run just regular gas without any benefit from race gas or mixing 50/50. -
Hopefully we can make it happen before the end of the summer

Shindaiwa Premix on Banshee
TeamRealtreeHD replied to F!NE DR!VE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
speacial is even better than special... it is the best out of the two. It is in a league of it's own, not just above most. Speacial.... sounds like a word that should be in Websters -
Shindaiwa Premix on Banshee
TeamRealtreeHD replied to F!NE DR!VE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yes, I agree. For 3, 4 or 5 bucks every 5 gallon, heck man I will do anything for that price to assure I won't seize up and casue big headaches for the future. I like the peace of mind... Can it be done? Yes, it is 2 stroke oil. So yes... Is it safe to do? Absolutely not. There are components in a bashee engine that need special care that are not found in a weedwacker. Therefore, the weedwacker doesn't need the speacial lubrication and protection that the banshee does.
