Just stay off the fridge hill and you should be good to go lol

The one is doing it tomorrow. He came right out and told me my banshee is running great after we raced today. He is one that if he knows things, and how to perform the work, he will be on it. He loves to hang in my garage and work on the bikes... His will be spot on very soon. His bike runs good too. Ported and bored a little. Great running machine. The other guy, well, he will be sitting at home looking at the seized bike shortly. Only a matter of time... his is bad. Pinging and everything. Pipes so hot they are turning colors!!!

Bikes will be out of gas by then... If a coal hill trip is on the agenda, taking them on trucks is the only option. If you guys are going trail riding, I am out. My bike isn't meant for it with the setup I have. I can do it, and so can the bike, but I won't. Especially with the gas.

One of them actually cares but needs a little guidance as he is new to the jetting thing. He is going to do a plug chop tomorrow with a bigger main in it. The other guy, he replied today "I don't care if I blow it up... I want it to seize up so I can bore it". Sad thing is that quad runs good... with a little patience and time, it could last a few years.

Ride will be either Coal Hill or the Black Dessert. You will like the Dessert Jack. There are fun hills there. Not just gigantic hills. There are all sizes. You can pick your poison And the beer will be with me and pinned, I have a utility that my buddy will be driving that has a cooler on it 24/7.

I wonder what the percentages would be if there was a poll asking if you did a plug chop or not. I am the only one in my group that does it. Pulled plugs out of 2 banshees today, no chop, just pulled them out... and they were lean as all hell. Pretty bad. One was pinging like a son of a bitch... I don't think their top ends are going to last too long. I just can't see paying all that money for pistons, rings, bore/hone, gaskets, etc. just to be lazy and ride it and not keep a good watch on the thing.

Jack you better go this weekend or no Rolling Rock for you fella

I thought you 2 knew each other... pinned had Jack on his friend list.

Hey Jack, you don't have to tell me my man... I know this. I am after opinions here on what others think of plug chops. I want to know if they think it is a waste of time and if they think looking at the electrode after and hour or two is the way to go. Or buy those $2 plugs and go really fast and make the bike shake and do a plug chop lol
-
Loco brought up a point that interests me... what is the advantages of doing a plug chop? I know what they are, but I would like to see other's opinions on this. I was running my m otor on the lean side and didn't know it because I didn't chop a plug. When I pulled them, the electrode looked good at 155. I planned on doing a plug chop today with 160 mains, 158 mains and 155 mains. I did 160's first, started rich thinking I would work down. I got anxious after I came back to the garage... I wanted to see what the chop would tell me. Little did I know it is on the nose. I was running 155's, two sizes too lean on the main, by just looking at the electrode. What do you guys think? Who here thinks it is a waste of time... this is a personal opinion. I believe many can get away with just looking... but I will not be in that crowd. On the same note, I will not think another that justs looks at an electrode is an idiot because if that works for them, that is what they should stick with and I am a believer in sticking with what works. I am thankful I did one today... and will perform them a few times a season to make sure everything is good.

My plugs, just pulling them out and looking at the electrode, looked perfect at 155. Good color. Plug chop says differently... 160-162 is what the plug chop says. Motor builders say plug chop... I don't prefer it, but am happy I do it for peace of mind. Now I know what she wants.

He's a good asshole

The only other option would be a Mudshark in 21" I'd stick with your ITP's man, you run them pretty good. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Go to better sespension mods, maybe a little bigger (+2) swinger, and get 35mm PWK Keihins

It is a dime and 1/4 thickness... It is really close, but I will richen it up. I had 160's in when I did this, and out of curiosity cut them right away. Thank God I didn't do 158 and 155's. It would have been wasted plugs. I think I will put the 162's in it. The bike ran really good... I took it out today and smoked a few quads and climbed a few hills. It runs really good. I will put the 162's in it and call it a day! Feels good to know the jetting is on... pilots are awesome and so is the airscrews. The thing doesn't miss a beat anywhere from idle through WOT. Thanks fellas... I wish I had a better camera, the pics just come out too blurry. But you guys know what I mean when I say a golden brown ring and what thckness.
-
It is just a tad over a dime's thickness... I called Jeff at F.A.ST. and he said he uses a nickle thickness, and it is just under that. I think 162 mains will do it...
-
Sorry guys, but my camera doesn't show the ring. The pics suck. I did opnly 1 size mains on the 1st chop. I ripped the threads off and found 1mm gold brown ring at base. It is nicely golden brown, the color we want. But am I rich or lean with only 1mm? It is exactly the diameter of a dime. Once again, sorry but I can't get the pics clear enough. But I know someone here will know which direction to go... 1mm golden brown at the base with 160 mains and 48 pilots

So this bike is ported too? You didn't tell us that in the original post...

C'mon man, that thing maps the whole universe and the galaxy I can't help you anymore than that... your on your own fella -
Throw one size bigger main in and call it a day

Please... don't run the bike and try to do this. THAT IS THE WRONG WAY. I don't even know how you accomplished that in the first place... 180 is wrong. 155 is about right. 180 is not right! Only 19cc domes my friend. With your elevation, that is correct. The jugs are not ported either. That is right where you need to be. So you can relax... 155 PSI is good. Run pump gas if you want... run race gas mixed 50/50 or straight race gas if you want. You will be wasting your money if you do. It won't run better. The correct way to check compression: 1. unscrew the spark plug on one side... flip a coin to choose. It doesn't matter what one first. 2. Screw the gauge threads in. 3. hold throttle wide open 4. Start kicking.... doesn't have to be as fast as hell... the guage hold pressure and won't leave it out. So take your jolly old time if you want 5. When it stops climbing, that is your reading. 6. Unscrew guage, put plug back in 7. Repat on other side.

A guy from outta the area, from New Jersey, came up our way for the weekend. We were sitting atop of a coal hill and see his trialer pulling up. We were all in awww over this banshee he had... it looked like it was a rocket. Both me and PJ24 were talking to each other saying this guy will eat us alive. We figured we would race him anyways. We went up to him, he started bragging this thing up, and we listened... because his talk kind of went with the way it looked. But he lined up with us one at a time... and we both beat him separately by 10-15 bikes, maybe more. Absolutely demolished him.... as quick as he came, he left. I get PJ24 by a few bikes at least and I saw him race the guy and he made him look pretty silly... I couldn't really tell as I was ahead of him the whole time. But he was very pissed to say the least. And all the 450 guys around here want banshees now lol... they all bite the dust to our banshees too. Of course we have work done and stuff. But theo nes that talk their bikes up are the ones I like to put in their place and show banshees are king and always will be

Not a problem... good luck to him. Hope he finds a nice set!
