HJR ported/bored jugs
TeamRealtreeHD replied to TeamRealtreeHD's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
I am moving on up for sure lol You're a card -
Just wanted to know if anyone is interested in these jugs I have. For those who have been around, they know these jugs don't have much time on them at all. I got Kevin Herr at Herr Jugs racing to bore/hone .020 and put a "hot hillshooter" port job on them. It is like the dune port. They absolutely scream. Nothing I rode with, including other ported banshees, even touched my bike. Nothing came within 8 bikes of it. With stock stroke, this thing was pushing out close to 70 horses. It flat out ripped. Videos of the bike running with them can be seen in the video section. These jugs do not have much time on them at all. And guys on here know that I just had the work done in the middle of June. And didn't ride it much since. I would say a total of 20-25 hours on them. The pistons look new, and the cyliners inside look untouched like the day they came back from HJR. I can send out the pistons, rings, wrint pin bearings, etc. for a little more. But for the jugs alone, I am asking $425 OBO. All serious offers will be considered. I am bumping up to a 4mil 421 cub before next riding season, so these obviously have to go.

New main jets, and no low end power...
TeamRealtreeHD replied to acfine's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
You will be a tad fat at 300 mains, but that is a good thing my man. 27.5 pilots is good. And 1.5 turns on the screw with the stock needle on 3rd clip. That should do it. Banshees aren't made for low end, especially yours with those pipes. You will have a great midrange, and a good power supply up top. It will pull nice. The thing is it won't feel like much until you get into the meat of it. They are all like that. Let us know what you come up with -
pods are the only way to go... period. You would be surprised what those $10 outerwears do in terms of water and dirt protection.

I have 2 sets of front rims for the banshee. One came off the bike when I got it, another is from a warrior that I had. I have no need for either set as I have beadlocks on my bike now. Was going to keep them, but really have no need. You ask anybody on here that sees my bikes and stuff in person, they are in top notch condition. Very shiny like new, and these tires have all the tread left. Set #1: This set has 90% tread left on these stock tires, rims are in awesome shape. Tire and rim combo. Asking $100 plus shipping. Set #2: Came off my warrior, these are the stock rims before I put the beadlocks on it that are now on my banshee. The rims are in about the best condition you will find used. The tires are worn, but the rims are in great condition. Tires have about 30% left on them. Shiny as well, tires are not new though. Asking $50 plus shipping

You need a roundhouse carrier swingarm for that. As of right now, you have a stock style carrier swingarm. You need to get a new swingarm and carrier for this "bearing carrier" to work. Plus a few other things as well

New main jets, and no low end power...

That is common for most setups, a 27.5 would be good. Idle needs adjusting if it is hard to keep running. BUT.... we need to know your elevation. I have a few buddies running those pipes with similar mods. Most popular pipe in this area to be honest. Most run 280 mains on 27.5 pilots, one runs 300 mains on 27.5 pilots. 1.5 turns out on the air screw with stock needle on 3rd clips. But elevation is a factor. We are at 1200 feet. -
Yes, you are fine with a few like lbs. Keep an eye on it, write it down and keep a good log of it whenever you test it. When you see a bigger difference in the sides, rip it down and investigate. Most will say a 5-6 lb. difference. But your situation seems perfectly normal

Tough to tune... very stubborn and like to lean towards being rich all the time, no matter what you throw at them With that said, I had one and liked it, but like I said, it was alaways rich, plugs always black as hell. Plus it fell on it's face once you hit 4th WOT-6th WOT. I went to duals with my new motor. Flat out hauls ass now.

Thanks Matt. I ended up getting it rather easy. I on;y looked at it for 1-2 minutes the other day, and thought it would be a hassle due to doing other frames in the past. But the middle piece came out, along with the bearings and both seals
-
Took the bike down to the bare frame for powdercoating and chroming. I need to get the seals, bearings and such out of the steering stem hole. Any advice? Heading up the garage now, I'm going to give it a shot, if not I'll report back. Any advice between now and then is always good!

I have the Trinity Stage IV's and I wouldn't trade them for nothing. I was going to get an all top end pipe but these Trinity's provide me the midrange and all the top end I need. Perform very well with mods as I rode them before and after motor work and mods. They are similar to T5's, mount better and won't rust. Do not really need much attention as they are stainless steel. Sound like no other too!!! But don't get me wrong... I am not saying just the pipe I own is good. I like the FMF Fatty's for all around riding too. Depending on what you want to do, that is where your pipe choice will come into play. But according to what you are saying, the Trinity, the T5 or the Fatty's will be a good choice.

Curtis Sparks is top of the line for the YFZ.

I have stock cages with Boyesson reeds right now. I just picked up V Force 2 Reeds at a good price from a fellow member. I plan on getting the VF3's in the future. So do you guys think it will be a big improvement from the stock cages/Boyesson reeds petal setup to the VF2's??? Thanks guys, very good talk here so far.
-
Hey guys,, just wondering from guys who ran the V Force reeds. What is the difference from the V FORCE 2 to the V FORCE 3??? Also, can the V FORCE 3 petals be put on the V FORCE 2 cages?

Hunting for me starts here on the 4th of October. I have to get ready. Got alot of stuff to get ready with the bow and arrow for that.
-
I might get away with the stock brakeline then... that would be good. If not. $30 isn't a hassle
-
You are running a stock carrier or the roundhouse?
-
I would love a roundhouse, as well all know they are easier. But the deal I got is pretty sweet. I got the standard, stock carrier on swinger. I will look into that. Thanks brotha

The sad thing is... those same plastics that were shipped for that price through USPS I tried earlier that day through UPS. They wanted 60-70 bucks for each set. I couldn't justify it because I set a 30.00 shipping charge on the sale. So I would have lost money. I was an inch away from calling the guy and telling him I was sending a refund. I went to USPS, just for shits and giggles, they weighed and measured them.... and when they told me the price..... I went home and wrapped those babies in bubble wrap and plastic wrapping faster than you can imagine. USPS, wrap yourself, save a ton. Bubble wrap is allowed, address must be taped, and say goodbye to them. Most won't go through the hassle, aspecially people dealing with parts on an everyday basis like our main man here NYUK. But in my case, my whole quad (s) needed to hit the road. So I did it. It only took me 10 minutes per front and rear and $3 worth of bubble wrap on each set.

Oh, I know they are worth it. I am just waiting for a good deal, as you know. I ride with just the pegs like you. I cut as much weight as possible. I don't have a problem with my feet coming off the stockers, let alone those bad boys. I know they are definately worth it... but everytime I have the money, well, you can tell the rest of the story.... something else comes up. I want them so bad. My next investment hands down without a doubt. P.S. Thanks for the heads up Tyler... I appreciate it. You're a good guy

Definately run the plate if you can. BUT........ The key will work without a doubt. And many here have tested and tried the key. The plate is adjustable, and is flawless. Good luck And yes, a can of worms is al over the place, but that's cool.
-
I need a setup like that Tyler. But I don't want to pay the big price. At least not in the 200-300 range. I want IMS SOOOOOOOOOO bad.... but I can't see paying that big price. I have been looking for a used set for eions now...
