  1. Something seems weird here bud. i have almost the same mods but without the head and domes and my Shee is crazy. 20:1 oil mix is way too much imo, i run 40:1 Klotz, also i believe ur jettin it too rich, im at 2000ft with 300 mains and 30 pilots (donno ur elevation). i run 15/41 sprockets with 22" tires cuz it would spin to 5th gear on loose dirt or pull the front end off the pavement in 4th. sounds like somethings not right to me.
  2. Go to the hardware store and get longer springs, simple cheap fix there. As for jetting, if the K&N and pipes are your only upgrade I'd start around 280 mains and you probably gotta up a size on your pilot to 27.5 as well.
  3. I've heard of some people filling the hole with JB weld then re drilling and tapping the hole.
  4. Hello, well i had this idea after watching a tv show about guns where they made a silenced shotgun... any way so i made a shitty drawing on paint and had this idea to make 3 baffles out of metal and rivet them in place to make 4 equal chambers inside the silencer making repacking the silencers a thing of the past. i dont know how it would work, effect performance or even work at all. let me know what you think and any if any engine builders could comment on possible performance issues. Just a random idea i had here, Thanks everyone Aaron.
  5. thats alright, Good job man, mine ran for 5 years. just rebuilt it and hope it lasts another 5..
  6. Timing +4, shaved head, Reeds, mild port job (depending on how deep you want to go). The list goes on.... the more power you get the more you want!
  7. so i realized i wasnt running 320's... i was only at 280 for my main jets. i just upped them to 300's and it runs nice. but for my pilots im running 27.5 and tried to set them according to the jet setting guide and i think im a size too low on the pilot. i set them out passed 3 turn and no change in rmp happened so i think i need to go to a 30 pilot jet. let me know what you think.
  8. Did you make sure you've disconnected the little TORS box under the left side of you tanks? I just did the same thing and it wouldnt stay running cuz of the stupid throttle switch..
  9. 1) What type of aftermarket exhaust do you have? FMF fatty's - powercore 2 silencers 2) What type of airfilter do you have? K&N 3) Are you a)running a stock airbox with lid stock airbox with NO lid c) Stock airbox with vents d) no airbox at all? Stock Airbox NO Lid 4) What is your elevation? 2000ft ASL 5) What size pilot jets are you using? 27.5 6) What size main jets are you using? 320 7) What temperature is your Banshee jetted for? 10-25 Degrees Celcius 8) Do you have a port job? HJR Dune/Play 9) What kind of carbs Stock 10) What size carbs? 26mm (stock)
  10. Thanks guys, Well obviously I didn't mean $money$ rich, lol. I'm only running one tank of 32:1 cuz i just got it back from HJR with a fresh rebuilt top end. Otherwise I always run 40:1. I just took the air box lid off and will ride like that to see how it is, I'll have to put it back on for the muddy days. Seems to be running just fine but wanted to make sure I wasn't bogging myself down with extra un-needed fuel. ~Aaron
  11. Hello Banshee lovers, I just got my engine back from Kevin at Herr Jugs Racing. and I've been reading other posts and I think i may be running too rich. Here are a list of my mods and carb settings. -K&N filter air box lid on, snorkle removed (I call it ram-air lol) -VF3 reeds -Timing advanced 4 Degrees -HJR Dune/Play port -Milled stock head .030 -FMF fatty pipes w/ powercore 2 Running at 2000ft ASL. I have 320 main jets in stock carbs and 27.5 pilots, air screw 1.5 turns out. I just got it back with a fresh rebuilt top end so I'm running premium mixed 32:1 with opti 2 oil. Usually run 40:1. Not to get off topic but does anyone know if its alright to run Avgas 100ll, I'm a helicopter pilot so its easy to get at the airport. Also whats the best oil to run and what ratio. Thanks, Aaron
  12. hey there, i was just looking around and reading all these posts about heads, dome sizes, elevation, and compression. I was just wondering if someone who knows can make a graph chart or something to compare what PSI the cylinder is running at to what octane of gas should be used. maybe even make it a sticky post so everyone can just look at that after they do their compression test to find out what fuel to use. Thanks Aaron
  13. Wacko2000, you said you got more low end, but did it do anything to your top end?
