  1. I use Belray Gearsaver, simply because I am very skeptical on the ATF- Type F. But lots of guys use it. I am thinking of trying it because it is much cheaper and I don't mind paying 2-3 bucks for a qaurt and changing it 2-3 rides. No big deal. Kevin built the motor and he even told me to run it. Talk about hard-headed... I just find myself putting it back on the shelf everytime. But what do you use and why? I use 85 weight... I ride alot on the dead of summer, heat is an issue, and I want that stuff as thick as possible for as long as possible so to speak. Anything lighter would turn into water.
  2. You will have lots of fun trying to tune a single if you don't like the doubles. Stick with the duals
  3. Bump... if anyone wants pics of anything, let me know. This stuff will never get used here.
  4. I know guys running even leaner than that... with no problems. Would I do it? Heck no. I do what Kevin tells me lol
  5. Guys like him need a beating... a good one
  6. I am really leaning towards candy apple red... and that is what all of the others I ride with are recommending too.
  7. I got a set of rears, 50-60%. They will go to the recycling center here shortly since I don't use that style anymore, and neither does anybody around here who hillclimbs. They came off a 4 stroke trail quad I used to have
  8. 1.5-1.7 in the stock cover for sure.... I actually tested the clymer manuals recommendation for checking it last year (toom me a long time by the way)... I got 1.5-1.6 quarts when it finally stayed in the marked area of the dipstick on flat land.
  9. Thanks fellers... I added the extra 2-3 ounces in... and will always put 2 in from now on. I really appreciate your input here. On another note, you guys ever have issues with those plastic covers fading, cracking, scratching, etc. over time??? Mine looks really good now, and I will try and keep it that way. Just wondering if I should expect degradation over time
  10. I am a firm believer in Klotz Supertechniplate... I ix all my motors 36:1 (18oz to every gallon). Castor 927 is also good, but we all know we can't run both lol. Those are the only two oils I will ever run, but Klotz gets the nod
  11. Yea, those suckers came loose quite often so far. Definately a good idea to tighten before and after every ride... They weren't loose as in coming out, but not tight, you know? Good advice and thanks for the input
  12. I put in 1 3/4 quarts of BEL-ray Gearsaver 85 WT... seems close. What are you guys putting in, amount wise? It seems alot harder to measure it with a billet dipstick by the way...
  13. Help me choose what color to do my frame over the winter months... I am undecided between candy apple red or black... What do you guys think???
  14. Your main controls the area of the throttle you were experiencing hesitation at... mine did the same thing, it is very common to see that on cubs. Never let a cub idle to long either because they like to load up and foul plugs, especially if your air screw and pilot are a little fat. 160's will do the trick by the way, atleast get you in the ballpark. Good luck... Put those 160's in it, then find a place you can do a plug chop. That is pinned/sticky up top of this forum I believe. Get the pilot and air screw jetted good out of the hole first before you begin messing with that main by the way. Should be 48-50 on the pilot, 3rd clip on your needle and 1-2 turns on the air screw. Get it to be nice and crisp off idle, then go do a plug chop and call it a day...
  15. Your main is way too high. Jump down two sizes and do a plug chop... the bike will feel sluggish and hesitate when rich, which you are. I don't like to take big strides when jetting, as in jumping up/down several sizes. Two on the main at most, then tune from there. You are definately high on the main though. You wiull end up even lower than a 162 when it's all said and done. If you were lean, it would break up, and crack, etc.
  16. If the cylinders are not scarred or nicked up, leave it go. I would get a hone on them though to be safe. Crank will be fine. If it hasn't been done before, most likely is stock bore. Get a top end rebuild kit, I like Wiseco forged pistons... it will come with everything you need to build her back up
  17. Try the silicone suggestion... make yourself a nice, secure gasket custom to the mould on your tank/gasket. Will solve that problem real quick.
  18. We tested mine on a buddy's and my guage and got a difference of 10 PSI... so I know first hand right there that guages differ and such.
  19. I thought there was 4 in the replacements... but some places made it sound like there was only 2.
  20. How many do you get when you buy them... 2 or 4? This internet shopping shit is confusing the living fuck outta me
  21. At 50-60 bucks a pair, Kind of don't want to do that. Looks to be 3 on each cage, so that would be 3 sets. Only one is bad
  22. Got the following and do not need: Stock footpegs in great shape: make offer Stock Swinger in great shape: Make offer Stock clutch/side case cover: make offer I need this stuff gone guys. Ain't looking to get rich. Let me know if you need anything
  23. Cracked one of the petals on the reed cage... I am in need of just one. Anyone know where is best to get them? Any advice?
  24. Kevin told me my build last year would be 185-190, and he got really close for sure. My buddy's yesterday just seemed really high though. Both were tested with my guage. The other bike with the 18cc domes was tested on another guage, however.
  25. He's running AV Gas I just thought that was really high, another buddy ran 18's with no timing with the same setup and had 155 per cylinder on the fresh build
