  1. alright after a little working on the banshee i have come to the conclusion that the reeds are fine, they have no crack or breaks and open and close smoothly. the plugs are fine, they dont look too lean, they actually look a little rich, but they always do. I check the silencers and they are not clogged or blocked at all. the carbs open and closeat the same time. The compression on both cylinders is between 115-120. so they are fine for a stock motor. I am very confused what should i do? anyone have any input?? I am trying to get this thing running again any help is great!!!!
  2. the plugs are fine. new or old they both run the same. I have yet to check the compression and try and fix this problem, work has been super busy and and shee has just been siting in the garage. I am going to try and get a couple hours in tonight. I will check the compression and pull the reeds out to see whats up there and i will check the gaps on the plugs and instal new ones. what should the gap be, i cant remember?
  3. ok i will check the reeds and see if that makes the exhausts even out..
  4. also just so you know the right side pipe gets much hotter quicker than the left. the left is only warm.
  5. alright here goes.... i didnt notice any problems with the banshee before i started working on it today this is what i changed today: T5 pipes and silencers, dynojet jet kit (dynojet needle 4th clip from flat top/280 main jets/ air screw 2.5 turns out) The right side pipe is pushing a lot of exhaust out and is also popping a lot at idle and at all throttle positions. the left pipe is running and running quietly but the exhaust flow is not nearly as fast or as much. the carbs seem to opening and closing together and see to be synced ok. I switched the plug wires and they are fine, plugs are good, i also played with the air screws and that didnt change anything. runs better w/o choke and it does drive and the power is marginal. I dont know how to diagnose this one can anyone help??? any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
  6. I'll be honest i have a new raptor 700 and its faster than my banshee noticeably but when it comes down to i would rather throw my leg over my banshee. The raptors great but its just not the same as that screaming 2 stroke twin. NOTHING Like it!! I will eventually sell the raptor 700 but never the shee.
  7. i just bought some ttoomey t5 pipes with silencers in good shape but have some surface rust on the inside of silencer piping and some on the under side of the pipes. its all pretty minimal and light but i was wondering if there is anyway to re finish these? Could i even sand them down and paint them??
  8. i bought my 2000 shee stock. only i though Tors was removed because there are moose carb caps and a new throttle cable and the big units over the carbs arer not there but..... today i did the e-brake block off kit and when i pulled the cable out the bike wouldnt rev at all then i manually pushed the e-brake handle thing and then the bike would run fine. basically because i pulled the cable out it was sensing the brake was on and not letting it rev. how is this possible if tors is removed. I cut the wires and now it runs fine but i am curious why this happend.
  9. yeah i ended up putting some electrical tape above and below the o-ring and wrapped it around like 8 times. it does the trick. looks clean and is cheap easy and fast! thanks for the help!
  10. bought the rocky mountain atv flag and quick release flag mount for my raptor 700 and the banshee for a place that requires them. Here comes the question i wish is didnt have to ask because i am an inteilgent guy but this is confusing me. how the hell do i keep the flag on the pole when i ride???? It slides over the fiberglass pole but there is nothing to hold it on. all that is included is a little nipple to cover the end of the fiber glass pole and two rubber washers that i assume are to hold the flag on but i must be completely retarded because i cannot figure out how to secure the flag. Once again i feel totally stupid asking and please dont rub it in but i am riding tomorrow and need to figure this shit out.

  13. i have an adjustable timing plate i want to instal so does that mean i should def. just do the 21cc and like a few degress advanced timing? I can 93 pump no problem just not higher
  14. i know this is an old post so sorry, but i figured it was better than starting a new one. anyways....can i do 21 or 20cc cool head without doing a port job. my banshee will have t5 pipe set, carbon fiber reeds, dynojet jet kit, k&n filter w/o lid just to get an idea of were i am at. Avg temp 65-75 at around 500ft above sea level. thanks
  15. i have the dynojet stage 3 jet kit coming.... should that have all that i need to get the jetting right or will i need more jets and stuff?? thanks for all the help guys!
  16. temperatures are around 70-80 degrees here in Connecticut and avg elevation is 500 ft. so assume those are my regular riding temps. Thanks for the input guys! the more advice the better i am trying to learn all above the banshee and how to make power and tune them!
  17. hey everyone i have a bunch or parts coming and i can't wait to get them all installed. But i am not sure how to jet with all this stuff. Here is a list of all the parts i am putting on!!!! Right now the bike is 100% stock: w/ tors eliminator kit K&N pro flow intake no lid w/ outerwears toomey T5 pipe set w/ silencers ricky stator adj timing plate carbon fiber replacement stock reeds dynojet jet kit anyone have a clue were i should start with jetting. I have no idea were to start! Thanks for any help, i cant wait to feel the power after these mods!!! hopefully the shee will be able to keep up with my raptor 700 now thanks
  18. i hate to ask stupid questions but i have searched and cant find the answer. If i do new +2 shock and a arms in the front should i also get a wider axle or spacers for the rear?? or is it commen to just do the a arms and the rear stock other than just upgrading the shock? thanks!
  19. my stock 2000 banshee really doesnt have enough power to wheelie unless i really work for it. Even then it is way harder that i would have expected. My 2001 stock blaster that i just sold wheelied easier. I wonder if it is a problem wuth the machine or is this how they are. I have tried like 10 different ways to pull up the front. If i put one foot on the grab bar it pulls up easy but sitting (205lbs) it doesnt want to pull up. any ideas??
  20. yeah we rode pinnacle creek trails and indian river i think it was. I will post some pictures soon! we stayed like 1 mile from the the pinnacle creek trails at the Happy Trails cabins
  21. This passed week i took my 2006 raptor 700R se and my 2000 banshee and drove 11 hours to WV - Hatfield McCoy with my girlfriend. We rode for 4 days and had a blast! we rode monday-thursday! There was no one there and the trails were great and it was some pretty good weather. There were a couple tricky mud pits that were interesting with two sport quad but we made it through with a little muscle and some tow straps. They have a ridiculous amount of trails and we only road in two trail systems. Just figured everyone might be curious.
  22. first off....sorry for my ignorance. I have searched for like 3 hours now and cant get and understanding of what porting really is. If some one could explain to me what porting is what it does and what the positives and negatives are. I an going to be doing some work on my 2000 shee this winter and am trying to figure out how to make a relaible 55 hp or so. But for some reason i dont understand porting. thanks for any help!! Also what would a porting jop cost if i was looking to make around 60 horsepower with all the appropriate mods. I am building my bike for all around use....trails...drag....hill climbs and just ripping around. thanks
  23. alright sweet! thanks for your help. I guess i will wait until the comppresion gets a little closer to 100 before i do a topend rebuild.
  24. hey everyone i was looking to see if anyone new of a good place to do the top end on my 2000 banshee this winter. I am in CT but am willing to travel into NY with in reason. In like December i am going to rebuild my top end and do some mods. right now she runs very good but is stock and the compression is a little low, like 110-115 in both cylinders. Thanks for any help.
