  1. how come it wont let me upload pictures? i made sure they were small enough???? anyone know
  2. Nice quad man!!! those new KTM's are nasty. I love my raptor 700 and i agree with some of the above post that they are the best looking. I know even my stock raptor has some serious torque, have you driven a 700 compared to the 525XC? I am curious how they compare in terms of power and such? Anyways congrats on a sweet piece of machinery....i am slightly jealous haha!!!
  3. yeah i tried the 27.5 pilot and i tried almost every possible position of the air screw and it really ran bad everywhere. Runs better and starts better with the stock pilot. I doubt an o-ring is pinched because nothing is leaking and it sit well. also it runs great once started. just for kicks i will pull the head off and check to make sure i didn't mess up any of the o rings.
  4. also, i use the choke when cold. if i dont it will take twice as many kicks.
  5. i tried the 27.5 pilot with the head. it got very boggy and ran very bad. I run stock pilot right now with air screw like .5 turns out.
  6. wait.....how do i tell if the carb bowls are wrong?
  7. you can get jets at your local Yamaha dealer if you don't want to wait for someone to ship them to you. I got a few jets from Jeff at FAST and they did ship pretty fast though.
  8. hey everyone. After i installed a NOSS cool head with 20cc domes my bike is a lot harder to start. Before i put the cool head on it would start every time within the first three kicks no matter how long it sat without being ridden. Now with the cool head installed it takes me at least 10-15 kicks to start. I mean at least sometimes closer to 20. I have the jetting really good, it idles great and runs awesome the plugs are looking great and a brand new. Compression when stock was right around 115psi in both cylinders and now with the 20cc domes i am looking at like 155psi in both cylinders. + or - 5 psi. I am running fresh 93 octane gas. Everything is working great and bike runs really hard! Once started it is a beast for a bolt on bike and has no problems at all. I feel like everything points in the direction of low compression but my compression is ok. Not great but def. enough to get her started easily. After i ride it for a while or even after i let it idle for like 5 min it starts first or second kick. Any ideas????? MODS: NOSS cool head 20cc domes - 155psi comppression Toomey t5 pipes w/ silencers Boyseen super stock reeds +4 timing advance - RS timing plate K&N clamp on filter w/ outerwears NO LID airbox TORS eliminator kit jetting(if i can remember correctly) 300 or 310 main (cant remember which) stock pilot (ran shitty with a 27.5 pilot)
  9. just sent you a PM for 650 i will take it!
  10. i agree with sheerider1026 when i had my slides in wrong it ran just like that. check your slides.
  11. not to steal your thread here..... but why would extending the swing arm decrease traction? I have read this all over the place that shorter increases traction and longer does the oposite. I understand the benefit of a longer swinger but why does it decrease traction?
  12. i have had both razr II and knarly on my banshee and i like the knarly's better. seem to handle really nice and they dont wear to fast.
  13. looking for an upgrade. but thanks
  14. just looking for a set of used after-market front shock for my banshee. looking for stock length preferably but would consider some +2 shocks. Not looking to spend a lot. hopefully around $150-200.
  15. where do you guys find your used bikes? Like i found my banshee on bargainnews and have spent some time on craigslist.com where do you guys shop when you are looking to get another machine?
  16. just in case anyone has one, i would also consider either a lt250r or a trx250r. Just looking for a cheap 2 stroke quad project. Running or not running just let me know what you have. i have cash set aside for this so if you have something good i am ready to buy.
  17. my instinct tells me that its probably the coil that is missing as the rpms increase. that or if you carb slides are backwards it could do that. mine did the same thing and it was the slide.
  18. it wont be huge gains. it will be snappier and rev faster. but it will also loose rpm faster and could slightly harder to start. nothing to worry about but just giving you the facts. Less rotational mass = faster rev and a little more power Less rotational mass = less inertia which = losing revs faster between shifts/a little easier to stall at low rpms overall it would be worth it if you know a local machine shop that is capable. just my .02
  19. i am looking for a banshee that is blown up or needs work. Not looking to spend more than like $900. Dont care what condition its in or even if its complete. let me know if anyone has got anything that might fit my description. thanks a lot
  20. I am no expert but front all my knowledge and everything i have learned here i would say dont bore it out too much it wont gain you much and it will decrease the # of time you can bore the cylinders. Also if you want more power you could get it ported and do cool head and a timing plate. Or any combination of them. Head and timing should increase bottom end and the porting will make the most power and will be a huge difference( at least from what i am told.) Good luck man. Hey it also sounds like you were running too lean. Make sure you double and tripple check those plugs before you go WOT for a long time.
