check your pilots. and the choke jet. located in the bowl on the choke side. my girls she had the same problem. jumped up to a 27.5 pilot and plus the choke jet was pluged, most likely not an electrical issue, but for good reason you should check spark
-
ive had this problem too, best bet is to clean out your carbs, mains and pilots. also there is a "choke jet" located down in a hole towards the back of the bowl (correct me if in wrong), there is only one jet and its on the choke side (stator side). dont forget the crossover tube and new plugs! still if nothing then you might need a bigger pilot. but i would try and get her started first. pull start it if you have to, then adjust your air screws untill she runs good. hope this helps

when you shift, DONT let off the gas, shift fast, 2nd gear start! might want to drop a tooth on the rear. when does the 535 out run you, from the start or towards the finish?
-
anyone?
-
i put in a new modded shift star over the winter, and now i cant shift, took the clutch cover off and was trying to adjust the shifter shaft and it will not enguage to the next gear, ive got the cam as high as it can go and it still dosnt click on the next dowel. do you think i need a new shifter shaft and assembly? thanks
-
yes, that is a good idea, but i already have 2 of those full seal kits lol and both shifter seals have been used but, whats another seal kit laying around? haha thanks for the input
-
does anyone know if you can buy just one seal (shifter seal)? and not the whole kit. thanks

Like I said, it could be 90 degrees and it still wont fire unless you pull start it, then after the MOTOR is warmed up, it'll start by kicking it.
-
very interesting, heres the thing, it can be 90 degrees outside and she still wont fire unless u pull start it. are you talking about when the motor itself is "cold" or are we talking atmospheric temp.
-
I have the same problem with my girls shee. it will only start if i pull it, after letting the motor warm up it will start on the first kick, but leave it off for an hour or so and it wont start at all, its got 160 psi. ive checked everything under the moon and the only thing i can think of is putting a bigger size pilot in. other than that i am dumbfounded! im in the same boat mate!
-
what size jets are you running, what altitude and whats the temp your riding in? my girls she did the same thing, and I had to jump up to a 310 from a 280.
-
hey guys i got her runnin yesterday, cleaned the carbs and checked the timing, everything was good, still nothing thought, so i had someone tow me and she fired right up, i think it was so flooded that it wouldnt fire at all. thanks for all your sugestions!
-
Its getting gas, i open the drain screw on the bottem of the carb and both bowls have fuel, i checked the pilots and they are pretty pluged. haven't put the carbs back on to see if it fires yet.
-
tors is removed, ill check the pilots in a few
-
the choke tube is there. all the obvious I checked, except for the pilot.

we rode last weekend and it ran fine, tryed starting it today and nothing, i noticed i had the slides in backwards and swaped them over and still nothing, i have a great spark. and good comp. i know its a fuel issue. put smaller mains and larger mains and still nothing, so i put the slides the way they were before (with the cutout towards the motor) and she fired and ran for about 15 seconds, which leads me to beleive that its starving for gas, kick it over and it seems to ignite the fuel because little puffs of smoke come out. i didnt check the pilot to see if it was plugged or not, could a plugged pilot cause it to not even fire? seems like every time i mess with the carbs and put them back on it will fire and run for a few seconds then quit and nothing. ideas? ::

(not a 421 cub  ) my ported shee, hopefully the weather will hold out on us! my girlfriend wants me to teach her how to "drag race" because she gets bored sitting on the side watching me. lol
-
Donno about the weather. but itchin to RIDE! anyone goin the 19th 20th? (lookin for a race too  )
-
I would keep the front stock, and go with 41 tooth in the rear and pull off a second gear start. also, if your serious about drag racing, try shifting fast after the power band and not letting off the throttle, WOT all the time! no letting off for a gear change

94 blaster, new: crank, piston, milled and rechamberd head, new rims and tires, fmf fatty pipe, DG silencer. too many extas to list. asking $1,500 OBO pick up only please. email: [email protected]

Yes everything you guys said is all checked good. I put in some 310 mains today and she runs! almost getting there. the bottem end is rich so i raised the needle up 2 notches, Im think i got it, but i cant run it because i need some rubber hose to connect the stock silencers to the T5's, thats tomarrows goal though. but i am going to check all my grounds. and chip off the powdercoat to establish a good connection. Thanks for all your input guys! heres a pic of the pink thing.(remember boys, women ALWAYS get what they want!) lol
-
it runs, but it dosnt run like it use to before i removed tors, its just very boggy and no power im going to put in some 300 mains today and see if that helps. on the tors. does anyone know forsure that any wires need to be tied together or not??
-
sorry, I forgot i removed the stock clutch perch w/ebrake(too many quads to remember everything!) I put on a moose easypull. so giving that, I dont have any wires going to her clutch, all tors is removed. carbs are in sync. I am going to try to go up to 300-310 jett and try that (per Jeff). if that dosnt work, then I know its something else. I powder coated the frame and maybe i am not getting a good ground somewhere?
-
It does not have the stock clutch perch on it. so do i have to do some wiring?
