  1. I used a utility knife with tape for my guide lines. make a few passes with the knife then just pull the blade through, cuts like butter! take your time and wear some welding gloves! after removing the ears, heat up a puddy knife and melt the edges for a smoother look. :cool: Hope this helps.

  5. Im thinking about doing that next year, all i would have to do is run lower compression domes? and change jetting?
  6. Make sure that your slides in your carb are not backwards, the long grooves should face eachother and the wider notches should be on the outside. also check your cable and that the end of your throttle cables are seated correctly in the top of your carbs. hope this helps

It also depends on who's working the entry booth, because last year we didnt have sparkys on or in our t5s and we got right in when the blonde click was working. then we came back tot he parking lost because my buddys lugs came loose and they wouldnt let us back in afterwards, so we had to go buy a toomey husk kit with the sparky for his. lucky i brought my stock silencers with me so i just bolted those black turds up and we were fine
  8. so did we, the dick officer at silverlake told us that we had to take the silencer apart and show him the screen. and also he said that if the silencer doesn't have the usfs approved "STAMP" on it then its not approved. I have alba usfs approved "STICKERS" on my T5's and they didnt like that either. What did you make your spark arrestor out of. could you take a pic of it and post it

  10. same here, I think thats what I'll end up doing. I have a fmf TQ2 on my bike and ive been happy with that for a couple of years now. did you buy the fmfs universal? or do you have fmf pipes, because im sure fmf silencers wont match up to toomey pipes
  11. I have the toomey hush kit w/o the sparky. but thats too quite, and i can tell when its on(HP loss). I dont have to meet any sound requirements either. im just looking for a good silencer that has a spark arrestor but not be too quite. fmf TQ2 with less packing?
  12. I have had it apart alot of times before. the case is not cracked. the only thing that i notice is the kicker gear has notches on the side that it mates with the clutch gear, but that is on every tooth. so i assume its suppost to be that way? and the gear itself is somewhat wabbly
  13. 5 out of 10 kicks my kick starter wont enguage, is the gear bad? or the shaft that it rides on? any ideas?
  14. looking for after market silencers with spark arrestors, nothing too restrictive though. I was thinking fmf turbine power core2, but I have one on my yz for woods racing and they meet the sound DB's which is 94, but im looking for something alittle louder!

  16. I ride mostly at silver lake (michigan) and DNR is very strict on having spark arrestors. what are the best hi-flo silencers w/sparkys? i dont like the looks of the tommeys with sparkys on the ends of them. I want the all in one package. i know FMF has them but any other makes?

  18. hey guys I was wondering how many of you put tubes in the paddles.. my stems are steelwith a lock nut. do you think that they will rip out? and if they do, does any shops by siliver lake have paddles in stock?

  20. I went to the tire factory yesterday and they couldnt get the tires to seal(they are stretched) and so i went to tsc and bought some tubes... they worked great but now im worried that beins im running lower air pressure the tire will slip on the rim.... what do you guys think?
  21. i put 300s in with my pods with t5's and it ran so rich it fell on its face, and was fallowing plugs left and right. I ended up putting 270s in and it runs good now.. i guess every machine is different

I just got my duglas 160 rims and i was putting my sand snake paddles on and i noticed that on one side of the tire that its "bent" or stretched out in an area, i fought to get them to seat and when I aired them up it leaked air out of that area where the bend in the tire was, there was soap on the tire and rim also, could the soap be the reason why its leaking? and if it dosnt go away is there a sealer i can use to stop it?
  23. hey guys i live in michigan and i was wondering what size jett i should run, i have toomeyt5's, milled head, uni pods, boost bottle. i ride mostly at silver lake and some times we do some trail riding. i have 280's in right now, and my needle clip is at the top.. any ideas?
