Just wanted to point out that I was incorrect in my original listing. Shearer pipe that is missing the chrome (small section) is not obvious when bolted on but can be seen. I also forgot to mention that the silencers have been rubbed on the inside by the previous owner. I will take a couple mopre pics of them tonight. Here are a couple pictures of the pipes on my bike (you should be able to see the issue areas) -

91tsiawd replied to 91tsiawd's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be selling this setup untill next week when I have my machine shop confirm that the crank is good. I have no reason to believe it is not good, but would perfer to have it verified before it is sold. Also if anyone needs any additional pictures please let me know. -

Not 100% sure yet what the other route will be extacly, I was leaning towards a cub but still haven't made up my mind. The reason I'm selling the setup is because I wanted to re-do my entire bike and once I tore the motor down to powder coatthe cases and jugs, I just couldn't justify spending the money on new gaskets and the putting the time in without upgrading again (I always want more out of the bike). To the people who posted about prices for individual parts, I'll get back to you in a week or two if I can not sell it as a whole setup. -

I decided to go another route with my Banshee this winter, so I have a bunch of parts I'd like to sell. Parts are Located in Danville, Pa, Prices listed do not include shipping. 1. HJR 4mil, Aggressive Dune Port Clys, Bored .20 over, comes with 4mil domes (21cc), Wiesco Pistons, 4mil Crank (short rods, bearings and seals included), Compression was 175psi before I pulled the parts, Parts were on the bike for less than one year and have about 20hrs tops (No pitting or any other defects) Note: Crank threads on the flywheel side have been cut down but still have plenty of threads left to lock the flywheel down (still have 4-6 threads showing after the nut is tightened). This will by no means effect anything, but I want to list as much information as possible Paid $1,200 asking $750 2. YFZ 450 Shocks (off of a 06) great condition $200 3. Stock Clutch cover off of a 2000 Banshee $45 4. Stock Banshee Spindles $35 (Powder Coated Black Chrome, but have been scratched up) 5. Coolant overflow bracket and bottle $20 On to the pics.

I have to agree, that it is annoying when people copy images in their reply. What sucks is when I'm traveling and using my blackberry, I'm stuck scrolling for a couple minutes and then get to read a 10 word response which has nothing to do with the pictures.

My pricing came from F.A.S.T. for a set of pistons, and a set of domes. I figured it doesn't make sense to run 1 used piston/dome with one new piston/dome (Two used pistons and domes that came from the same motor is one thing). My intention is not the step on anyones toes just to throw out a possible solution that wouldn't involve spending too much money for either party.
-
I think both parties are in the wrong. The piston and dome are obviously pitted in those pictures (A blind person would be able to tell that), but then again you asked if they were actually pitted and he told you they were not. Your original request was for him to replace the parts in question with new parts, he offered money back ($100 + a diffrent used piston), but you wanted $175 or for him to buy you *New* parts to replace the used parts?. Why don't you both just meet in the middle. Pistons are $150, Domes $85. Split that between the two of you and your both looking at spending $117.50, and you have a 68mm CUB with new Pistons and domes. Seems like a small price to pay to avoid this mess you've both gotten yourselves into. Word of advice to the buyer: Next time something is in question ask for additional pictures or avoid buying used parts (sometimes it's worth spending the extra money to avoid crap like this). Most people who get screwed don't get the option to get money back or have the problem resovled. Word of advice to the Seller: Next time list a full description that explains all that is wrong with the item. People expect used items to be as good as new but for a fraction of the price (List everything in detail and you can politely tell them to "pound sand" when it isn't what they want).

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help (Big thanks to Spurdy for taking the time to give me a couple diffrent options). It's great how clear you can think after talking to a couple people who have been through this before. Thanks again guys!

Today, I ran into a issue while tearing my motor down. My Flywheel seized itself to my 4mm crank. I'm not sure how this happened, timing key was not twisted, anit seize was used, and it was a brand new crank (4 rides on it). I ended up going though 3 flywheel tools (threads were ripped right off of them), and finally tried welding the flywheel tool to the flywheel only to have the welds snap off. After the tools broke off I decided to cut the flywheel off (outter section), and then removed the crank from the case, and put the crank in the press. In my case the threads are bent but I'm able to screw the nut on the end easily. I'm more concerned with the crank now being out of balance due to the bend. After nearly breaking the press The flywheel came off, but in the process of trying to remove the flywheel from the crank the first 1/2" of the threads that are used to secure the flywheel are slightly bent. The shaft the flywheel sits on it fine though. I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue in the past, and if so were they able to pay the manufacturer to correct the problem or came up with another solution. Any help would be great right about now.

That is one clean 140. I'll try to grab a couple pics of mine when I head down to my brother's shop. It runs well but still needs some additional body work Rear fenders were welded own by the previous owner back the 70's (asshole)

The CDI you are looking at is not worth the money, that is not to say all aftermarket CDI boxes are not worth the money. It really depends on what you plan on doing with the bike, what types of tuning tools you have access to (Dyno). For the most part a simple timing plate is all most people will ever use. If you have the time, and experience, and a dyno (will still need to see if any gains helped in real world conditions) you can change the way the power comes on with a decent programable CDI by adjusting how much timing is added based off of RPM rather than just adding +4 degrees across the entire rpm range, You also have the additional option of adding a 2 step rev limiter on later bikes 97+ (Not sure how well this works with a 2 stroke). As for the comment on all CDI's being made by the same company, this may be correct with some of the cheaper brands, but I know this is not the case with the Dynatek CDI's. Just my $0.02

I'm hoping the Eagles take it all, but even if they don't, they atleast took the Cowgirls and the Gaints down. GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!
