  1. 30 miles north of Tampa...it's really a good place to ride if you know where your way around...if you have a gps that would really help...if there are a few guys meetin up I'd be able to go...
  2. i just bought a full set of wheels and tires...brand new!!!from some guy who got out of the sport(idiot)the tires are holeshot mx4's all the way around..still with the little threads on them..the back rims are stock9 inch yfz450's..but the front are brand new douglas beadlocks.. i like the way they look..but wouldnt have ever purchased a whole set at new prices for the type of riding i do....i priced the tires...240 ish?? brand new..the beadlocks alone are 174.99 average for two fronts.... i paid 150 for all.....hell of a deal like i said...i really dont need beadlocks for my style of riding...but they do look nice
  3. the new location is at L-Cross near Okeechobee(spelling?) it got to big for the Lakeland location...which sucks because alot of the guys spent alot of time out there one weekend grooming trails and stuff....but theres alot of new updated info.....http://www.floridaatvrally.com/
  4. oh almost forgot...are you florida guys gonna be at the rally? it should be alot better now that the changed the location...the mx track in Lakeland was kinda shitty in my opinion....
  5. ok...i've been running that mix for like...8 months and have no problems..but i was just checking... as for the boost bottle...i hear mixed emotions..is there really a difference if you run one or not? i didnt buy it or ride a banshee with out one so i wouldnt have had the chance to experience the diff. thanks
  6. hey guys real quickly...do i need to mix my castor 927 with 93 octane? or can i use 87 or 89? i have toomey t-5's vf3 reeds..boost bottle and open air box with pro flo filter thanks....i live in Florida if that matters
  7. gotcha! thanks again fellas
  8. to bore or hone my cyclinder is where i wouldnt feel comfortable/capable...as far as everything else...it could be done in my garage with regular tools? if it was your first time taking your head off and opening her up...would you bore your cylinders since it's apart?..is there a big performance gain after having it bored?
  9. also...do i have to use the stock size kit? or like..what are the different sizes?or does it depend on my motor work? should i get any other work done while it's apart? I really am not lookin to spend big bucks right now...but my tax return should be back soon..so that will help out... i really would like to spend...no more than $600 total....my mechanic told me it will cost me 350 to rebuild the top end..i forget if that included parts..which are around 150ish?right.. hey guys.. i really appreciate all the advice i've gotten since joining HQ...thanks alot!
  10. arm and a leg?
  11. I've had my shee for about 8 months now and have ridden pretty regularly and hard...but shouldnt it be?? ...bought it from my brother who had it for about 2 years... What are some signs i need to redo the top end..also how often should it be done...i do try to ride 3 full weekends a month... i know for a fact my brother didnt have any motorwork at all done to the bike..but he bought it when it was like a year oldso it could have stuff i'm not aware of....what should it be rebuilt with? my local shop reffered to Wiseco as.."Seize-co"...any ideas why??I was looking at the Vitos Piston/rebuild kit... the mods i know of are: vf3 reeds white bros. boost bottle toomey t-5's pro design billet adapter w/foam filter.. open airbox stock head/stock carbs i'm still confused about the TORS crap..not sure where i stand on that.... i think thats it? besides the cascade billet...i would like to get the k&n filters off the carbs tho....any input is greatly apprecited and helpful due to not having any local shee buddies.... vinnie if you can tell anything from my pics i missed let me know... http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w13/2strokinit01/
  12. yea they are great! They sell on ebay also...i bought an axle carrier from them made by magnum. it's a nice billet aluminum stock replacement carrier....the welds cracked on the carrier..they took it back and sent me a new one for free....same thing happened with the new one and they replaced it again. got the new one and it happened again....instead of sending it back and waiting for the postal service to perform it's great deeds to society...i took it to my local builder and had him weld it ten x better than magnum ever would... so...as for moto man...hes great.....magnum on the other hand will never see another penny of my hard earned!!!
  13. good..i think i'm gonna grab a set.... I'm also gonna post pics today of the bad ass deal i got yesterday on a set of wheels and tires!!!$150...4 wheels and tires....tires are itp holeshots mxr6 ..still have the little tread/nipples. wheels are:fronts..douglas 10 in. beadlocks rears are9 in. yfz450 stocks...tires alone are like280? the front beadlocks are 164.99 for 2....i got an amazing deal!!!!pics later
  14. im havin probs with mine...its brand new...just put it on yesterday..my chain tensioners are all the way in...wont help...i have the carrier slid all the back also....if i take another link out...i think it will be too short....
  15. if so do you have any close up pics of the mounting locations?Do they replace the stock pegs? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...sspagenameZWDVW
  16. Well...it WAS something i was considering....but i'm pretty sure i made up my mind..thanks for the opinions..and the real life prices of the rebuild...I was straight up with the guy and told him that it would take one hell of a bike to even get me thinkin of tradin the shee.....When it comes down to it...theres nothin like a banshee..bottom line
  17. I have been looking for a dirtbike for a while now...really want to keep the shee and buy a bike...but ..im a little strapped for cash right now...take a look at these pics and let me know if it would be a fair trade......my 01 shee for an 03 yz250f....i really dont want to get rid of her but if i found the right bike ...i might.... http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/yami2stroke/
  18. i put it back on...and will be at yamaha for some bulbs in the a.m...i think theyre like 16$ each...I'll let ya know how it turns out....do you guys think anything else was affected by the absence of the regulator?
  19. please dont make me feel too dumb...i'm sure there is something stupid you've done that you might not want to confess to....but im here to learn as much as i can When i first got my banshee...my brake light didnt work..and it was ugly..so it had to go right?we'll it being my first quad/shee...i didnt know what i was doing...and if it werent for the T.O.R.S post i just read that directed me to the main electrical system post...I'd still be clueless... as i was removing my brake light...i took that "black box thingy"and that "little 12 volt box'' along with it.........my bike always started and always ran for about 4 months...with all that removed...normal?then my lights went out...bike still started and ran fine..just no lights....my bike sat for about a month while i was re doing my axle carrier/waiting on bearings/parts... i get it all back together....bike wont start....for anything..my brother suggests putting "black box" back on..i do..and voila! it starts first kick.....but no lights..... now i read the thread about the T.O.R.S..which leads me to read all about the electrical system...and find out my 12 volt regulator is still sitting in my toolbox...now to my question i put the volt reg. back on...still no lights...did the bulbs burn out while the reg was missing? sorry for the novel of a post....vinnie
  20. wow guys thanks for the info....i found the thread thats very descriptive of the process like 2 mins after posting this question....but the source im getting the a arms from....i misread his ad...they are lonestar +2+1 standard travel arms w/ tie rods for the 450...not the stock ones like i originally thought....plus the stock 450 shocks......400$.the cheapest Lone Star arms for the 450 i found are $600.00 new
  21. sorry for the late reply/interest in this topic...but i have the opportunity to buy yfz shocks and a arms for 400 dollars....is it worth it? and how much fabrication is to be expected to set them up on the shee?...thanks for any info you can give....vinnie
  22. im going to second that opinion! stay away from Magnum anything....I'm not sure about the arms...but i am on my 3rd axle carrier from them...everytime... the welds that hold the sprocket hub to the carrier and the brake rotor hub to the carrier have cracked 3 times now.....i paid 180.00 for it brand new....sent it back..new wone they broke...sent it back...new one broke...now i just paid my local shop to go overboard on the welding and permanantly fix the problem... the wicked ones look better quality wise.... good luck
  23. ok ..i get it...i turned my stock wheels around..and was excited for about 6.2 seconds then realized the valve stems hit the brakes!lol...it was exciting while it lasted....so do you recomend the offsets? well...i'm glad you all are enjoying your tires.....i cant find them in stock anywhere!!!....was there like a big sale or something...or is it just always a great price for a good tire?
