  3. my first thought was carb until i tore the top end off and heard the bearing ratting. i plan on double checking everything as i dont want to go through this again.
  4. kinda figured that. the other side looks great. the bearing retainer failed and sent metal through the topend. the center bearings are in poor shape too. cases are scored a bit but no cracks.

Trinity head that needs at least one dome. other one is fine. cool thing about this head is minimal orings. its pretty easy to install. you will need to call trinity and get an oring kit and the nut kit. tell them its for use with stock head studs. uses stock water inlet and gasket, not included. these are 300 new. Head pitting Head top $60obo Vforce 2 Reeds. Ends are looking a bit frayed. one petal in particular is worse than the others. Frayed Petal Reeds $50obo Stock stroke, stock rod HotRods crank. stator side bearing failed and has some scoring where the seal rides. all the bearings have a bit of play. Bearing Fail $50obo Prices negotiable. Shipping extra unless we work out a deal otherwise. Trades I am looking for- Stock, ready to run crank -shiny stuff for the engine or bike.

  7. one of the things that is/was popular to do is add a crossover on the big vertical twins such as the xs650. i put one in on mine and it seems to hold an idle better and be more tolerant of being lugged when you are putting around. 4 stroke but same idea i suppose.

  10. i have some stuff measured and drawn up to pinch the front end of the banshee and run all yfz stuff. stock or aftermarket. this last engine failure has set me back in getting a frame.
  11. why is the general public so obsessed with the top speed of everything? when people find out my car is turbocharged, the first question is "what does it top out at?" fuck if i know and fuck if i care. it gets there pretty fast though.

  14. Im kinda paranoid too. i bent my second stock swing arm (sure its cool to ride off the side of a dune for the camera, but it breaks shit) and need a strong but light swinger. the stock one is weak for how heavy it is.

  18. have you ever done a yz490 shock? the one on my 83 is pretty squishy. i would like the racetech valve done if they offer it.

  21. start with a 14t front sprocket. i run 15/43 but i ride mostly sand. its wicked on the pavement once of the few times i ran it on the street i about dumped it over when i ripped off 5th gear like a nut.
  22. i remember beating 400ex's........ .....on a blaster. on another note what is with the trend of puting stupidly long swingarms on stockish banshee? regear that bitch too. a 13t sprocket is worthless.
  23. is that a yz490 engine in there? if so it should rip plenty good as it looks like it has the stock dirt bike pipe on there?i would try a 14 or 15t sprocket. is the bike a 4 speed or 5 speed?
  24. you had other issues then, there should be no jetting difference.
  25. i guess i never thought of t5's as a top end pipe. i always have power when i need it. its a 2 stroke, ride it like one.
