take the screw to a decent hardware store. look for the big peg board in the nuts and bolt section and try to screw it in every hole untill you find the one that it fits in
-
all depends on elevation/temperature

yea you should definitly consider things like new chain/sprockets, all new bearings throughout, especially the rear end.. it eats bearings if you ride hard, oils that you need, ect ect, theres alot of stuff you NEED to ride that you should factor into that $2500 before u start goin crazy blowing half that cash on a set of front shocks from our overpriced canadian brothers..i dont doubt elkas are awesome, but for the average person goin out on weekneds riding, you could slap a set of MUCH cheaper works A.T steelers on and would LOVE them after riding those stock front shocks,i love my works AT shocks on the trails and i payed $550 for them, BRAND NEW, triple rate , with res's. you dont always need the best on the market to see big improvements in performance over stock , and if your bike is all stock, just by slappin a set of t5's and a k&n filter on there you will notice a great improvement in power, it wakes the motor right up..dont let everyone talk you into tearing your motor apart and sending the cylinders , head and flywheel and shit all the way to the USA if you dont want to..id get shit i NEEEDED first.. like 4 good tires (stock banshee tires blow cock).. some skid plates, protect that motor and rear brake caliper/sprocket ect..set of backup handlebars for when you roll it, .theres so much shit i think you should consider spending your money on that you actually NEED, other than dumpin half your money u got to spend, on 2 shocks. its one thing to buy some real nice , crazy expensive shocks if you got everything else done that u wana do.. but if you are starting with a bone stock bike, theres so much more that you should spend your money on, like eveyrone said, if you start buying eveyrthing new, and especially new elkas, your gona see that $2500 dissapear real quick and wont have much to show for it

Port and Polish vs Works Suspension
Michael Jackson replied to badbrad's topic in General Banshee Discussion
if the stock suspension doesnt bother you, i gues you havnt ridden with anything other than it? sure you can ride trails on it and say it doesnt bother you, but if you had some decent shocks, you could go alot faster through rough stuff, faster through whoops, corner way better and you wont tire out as fast, but if you wana fly on the straights and then almost kill yourself on every turn and whoop or bump then yea get it ported first and keep the strock front end -
what is a good front suspension for trail riding

if your gona spend that much money for the f8's u may as well get some well known shocks like axis or elkas, you can just get the rear shock rebuilt, the carbs are easy to get off, just take off those rubber intake boots between the carbs and airbox/intake then loosen up the clamps on the other side and wiggle em right out, also i would pick up an outerwear for the k&n if you dont already have one, they are nice and keep alot of shit from getting to the k&n itself -
rockymountainatv - Tusk clutch kit with the heavy duty springs , $45, good shit

i hear the fmf's make good low end power, you should definitly get yourself a proper air filter set up, not just for a couple extra HP, but for protection really, those stock air filters do not seal at all, they suck all sorts of crap, get one of those aluminum adapter plates that comes with either a k&n or uni dual foam filter, the adapter plate has an o-ring in it so it seals against the front of the airbox airtight, and the filter connects to it with a hose clamp, should run you 80-90$ brand new. or you can pickup a used setup off someone on here, they are a must have -

rockymountainatv.com best place to get tires ,.and anything else they carry for banshees, razr 2's are the toughest trail tire out there, good traction, tough as hell and last a while, dont get 22's they are huge, the 20's are a big 20 and are plenty big for rocky rutted trails. any kind of aftermarket shocks will be light years ahead of the stock banshee front end, for a arms look for a decent prices chromoly set, no cheap steel, waste of money and you could also get your stock head milled down to raise compression but still run off pump gas while giving a little more lowend for $50 or so in addtion to other things like washurn said, also you could get some low end pipes, like the dmc;s i hear have some nice lowend, pual turner, ect -
screaming yellow that is some bullshit information you are giving out sorry bro... 4-6 sizes larger on the mains and one size up on the pilot for adding a k&n filter and takin the lid off!?!? thats crazy... the raptor hubs use the same bolt pattern, wheels are the same... but the hubs are not interchangable between axles i dont think , i think the yfz and raptor are interchangable now, the old raptors, blasters and banshees were interchangeable i believe

rocky mountain sells a pretty nice lookin one for $25

ive read alot of bad things around the internet about burgard, and know from my friend, first hand, their customer service sucks donkey dick, and he had a ball joint sheer in half on the threaded end while riding the trails
-
how about where the new air box meats the intake? and a box is a box, weather is aluminum or plastic.. is it the same basic design, just a box with no top? what kind of air filter do you run,and is there an o ringed adapted plate fixed to the box airtight with an air filter that seals with a hose clamp?
-
sounds like you have an air leak even if the 300's were a tad lean, it wouldn make it do that, for your mods and elevation which are about same as mine, it should be damn close to a 300main,
-
ask the person who ported it
-
ive been told by alot of people DG stands for dont go
-
i run 32:1 klotz supertechniplate, never fouled a plug ever, i think it has more to do with your jetting than your ratio, unless you were running 2:1 or something

-
if it isnt, it should be bansheeless - one being without his banshee, usually resulting in depression and anxiety and sometimes suicide
-
the oil fight is like asking someone which color banshee they like best.. pointless one guy swears by one, another by the other... but obviously the oil isnt the only bearing on how long your top end is gona last. i could run amsoil with a beat dirty filter and suck in crap all day, every ride... and then what
-
nice ,before long you will be selling your banshee.. i can hear it in your voice
