  1. thanks for the advice, but for my area, its cheap.
  2. OK fellas, i need to sell this thing, gotta get it out of my garage. I need the money. Heres what its got...34mm Round slide Keihn carb. The cylinder has been ported and polished by R & B customs in california. They got the intakes good, but didnt spend alot of time on the exhaust valves. Has a billet reed spacer and Boyseen Power reeds. Brand new top end with less then 15 hours on it. ( wiseco pro-lite piston). 10oz off the flywheel, To make it accelerate faster and fly through the gears. Has an advanced timing plate. Full DG exhaust system, Unfinshed steel style. Uni Clamp On Filter. Makes it sound beautiful. The rear axel has been extended 5in By Wheel spacers. Brand new Front a-arm tie rod connectors. Brand new MSR bars and grips. Race cut plastics. Has an Aftermarket headlight, makes it look STYLEISH. Everything has been power-coated black. The hubs, A-Arms, and swingarm are high gloss black while the frame and grab bar are a Flat black. It comes with.. 2 pairs of tires, one pair of sand shark paddles, and another set of stock tires, not shown in the picture below. It also comes with the airbox assembly, in case you wish to put it back on, and an extra chain slider. The throttle response on this thing is crisp and fast. It idles great, and it can pop wheelies all the time. Footage- since the footage ive put brand new front tires on and brand new itp's that were going to be included with the quad, on it instead. It gave it a 5 inch wider stance. Im in dire need of the cash, so im letting it go for the price of a stock blaster. $2000 firm. Im located in pheonix, AZ, but am willing to drive a little ways. The rims that the dune tires were on are now on the quad with ITP's. I had to toss the old rims because some jackass at the motocross shop bent my rim taking the tire off. It comes with the ITP's, the dune tires, currently on NO rims, and the stock tires(the ones that are on the quad in the pics) Pics- http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/6761/dscf4835nb3.jpg http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/3719/dscf4836bz2.jpg http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/2576/dscf4838ko6.jpg http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9165/dscf4840fb4.jpg http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/5892/dscf4841bg6.jpg
  3. actually, with the 2into1 setup, you gain quite a bit of bottom end, but you lose some top end.. thats why alot of trail riders choose to use them.
  4. uh that would be north carolina... its right next to south carolina :yelrotflmao:
  5. welcome to the hq, and the best person would be jeff, at fast. If you want to talk to someone about it, give him a call and you can discuss what you should do. www.farmandsandtoys.com thats his website. phone number there. give him a call.
  6. naw my tors is removed. it doesnt matter because what happens is, cause this happned before, is that so much fuel gets into it, and it revs so high that its able to keep the spark plug at an amazingly high temp, and goes at a high enough rpm, allowing it to ignite the fuel without a spark. its happned to a few people on here.
  7. sooo... yea... anyway i was working on my banshee today cause for some reason, once again it was running like shit.... and i couldnt figure out why,,, So i take the sparkplugs off... left one is fine.. right one isnt... right one is soaked.. and its spitting unignited fuel out the right exaust. so, connect the cap.. kick it over.. no spark.. turns out one of my spark cap wires got frayed... ok so i was like.. no big deal. i put some soder on it, heat shrink, and electrical tape just in case... now.. keep in mind.. ive been running it for some time, trying to figure out the problem. i suppose this is partly my fault.. but without thinking.. i start it up... idles for a sec.. starts to warm up.. i was like ok! problem fixed no big deal... i decided to take it up the street.... as soon as i hit the gas, it starts revving WOT. i was like.. o shit! so i hit the kill switch.. NOTHING. i was like.. ooo no not again( cause this happend to me once before,) so i remove the spark plug caps... still nothing.. revving crazy still... then i start to hear like this pinging sound coming from the pipe.. And all of a sudden.. next thing i remember is im laying on the ground, my friend and my gf are standing over me, and the banshee was still reving.. it died down a few seconds after... but it didnt sound pretty while it was.. i knew something was wrong. They rush over.. ask me if im ok, i said i had a bad pain in my leg... I look down... And my leg is gushing.. soo.. they take me to teh hospital. my gf was a little spooked. So apparently, what had happend is that it had pumped so much unignited fuel into the exaust pipe, that it became a pool in the lower part. ( i have stockers) then somehow... maybe heat, maybe a flame, It ignited it, causeing an expliosion. Theres nothing left of my exaust, 7 stiches in my leg, my left cylinder siezed cause of the lack of fuel, the right one got shrapnel in it from the explosion, im still not feeling too good, i got some metal in my eye, etc... Now all i can be thankful for, is that by some chance of luck, i stepped back a few feet to let it die out, like i knew it eventually would... Just to like.. sit back and watch.. so i was 8-9 feet from it... thank god... cause it was a big enoguh explosion to have my friend and gf inside able to hear it from my garage. so now im boned. I gotta buy all this stuff.. and new exaust.. and my leg hurts like HELL. they had to remove the shrapnel in some quick surgery. In was embedded an inch and a half into my leg. thank god no permanent injuries. woot. i wanted to know.. if i hadnt been running my fuel at 50:1 would it still have exploded? I was thinking if i ran it at like 24:1 that the amount of oil wouldnt have let it explode... it really freaks me out that i coulda been killed. i might even get a story in the news =) This has got to be the crazyiest thing thats ever happend to any banshee owner.. im tellin u. Ill try and get some pics up later of the damage and my stiches.... If i can get my antique camara working. I have to say that i do think this is all my fault.. i didnt think things through... i should have thought about it,,, and i can only thank whoevers watchin out for me up there. Sry for the novel.
  8. 33-35's... but fo sho dont keep them stock carbs.. ul be killin ur engine power big time. :shoothead:
  9. i have no idea what you just said
  10. ah thats not good buddy... if your seeing white smoke, that means you have a coolant leak going into your cylinder. You need to remove the head and check the o rings or your gaskets and see where its leaking from. Look for any signs of leaking on the head.
  11. porting- 300 reeds- 200 head+ domes- 200 all relatively cheap... obviously, best bang for the buck would be the porting.. if u want u can get 10 extra ponys easy outta porting.
  12. tke off ur carbs and clean them.. jets could be clogged.. take off your reeds and check them out.. make sure its all good in that department..
  13. no u see... it ran like shit.. so i switched the reed cages cause it was running on one side, so i figured.. hey, maybe its the reeds.. i switched them, and now it runs good on both sides... but i was told that u need to run stoppers.. so i ordered the stoppers.. and said.. hell... why not get reeds... but i ordered stock ones. Cause as far as i know.. the cages are stock.. but the stock reeds dont fit on the cage.. meaning that the cage has been modified or its aftermarket... i was hoping someone could tell me what was what on my reed and cages... its running awsome now, its just.. id like to know where these cages came from.. cause obviously theyre not stock. u can see in the photos.. the used ones, i had on there, have 3 holes for screws, as does the cage.. but.. the stock ones i got.. only 2 holes.. and they dont line up.. meaning.. aftemarket cage? but what kind? all the paint been scratched off..... help?
  14. wait.. which are aftermarket? the only thing i can find on the fmf reeds is the reeds themselves.. not the cages... and this is making no sense. which reeds are you talking about? what about the reed cages.
  15. ok heres the story.. when i got my banshee, it ran like shit.. so me and my dad, diassembled the whole engine, and cleaned it.. etc. I removed the tors, and cleaned the carbs.. nothing. ran like shit. But.. me and my dad.. in a last futile effort.. switched the reed cages. Then it ran great.. well.. much better.. but it has no reed stoppers! I need some, so, it being, to the best of my knowledge, a totally stock banshee, i order some stock reeds, and stock reed stoppers.. they get here.. and they dont fit... i mean like.. something is seriously off here.. so im thinking.. that i might have aftermarket reed cages...but they looks stock, and i have no idea what it is. Can someone please tell me what these things are? so i can order the stoppers? thx. i included pics of the original reeds on the cage, the ones a ordred and the new reed stoppers, and the wierd blue plate thats was on it... tell me what this crap is people! the ones on there had 3 screws.. the ones i got have 2... sry for the shitty photos.... http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/5029/dscf3312pl7.jpg http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/2019/dscf3313lz4.jpg http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/9903/dscf3314cf6.jpg - the new ones i ordered that dont fit... http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/5051/dscf3315op6.jpg http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/455/dscf3316oe9.jpg http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/7079/dscf3317qd3.jpg http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/7857/dscf3318xe7.jpg
  16. port- 300 reeds- 350 pod filters- 80 head- 300 timing plate- 30-100 depending on weather u get billet or not carbs- id get these used.. theyre a little pricy- used- 250 new - 350-500 now more importantly.. cause stock banshee suspension is SHIT, u need aftermarket suspension. Thats where the money is gonna kill you. Its anywhere from 800- 2000 dollars to upgrade your suspension.. depnding on brand and weather or not u got them used and the model. U neeeeed to upgrade this or ull be bouncing around so bad itll ruin your fun. And itll be uncontrolable. those are the non-extreme upgrades to a banshee... relatvely cheap if u have a job... depending on where you live id either get a dune port for dunes and wide open, or a trail port for trails n such. ( dune is better IMO) as for loooking on your banshee for change, if you dont get aftermarket carbs, U gotta remove the TORS system. Do a search for it. It may already be removed. The tors is the little gray box with the idle adjustment that sits on top of your carbs.
  17. where did you buy yours? all i can find in the stores are dual rates.. all other models have triple except the banshee and i dont know why.. i found some at cascade but theyre for standered length a arns. mine are +2 +1.
  18. i have my eyes on a set of dual rate works shocks, but i need to know if theyre good for trails.. i want cusionay suspension... i go over trails and.. most of the trails are littered with rocks, half sticking out of the ground and theyre about as big as a cantalope.. theyre everywhere. its normal for me now.. but the amount of fatigue it puts on me is difficulyt.. and the handle bars are constantly jerking due to the suspenion being hard as a rock and shot..
  19. ok.. this really sucks.. i think my shocks are shot. They haave never been revalved and theyre 20 years old.. It doesnt go all the way up, when i sit on it it almost bottoms out.. not good.. and the front shocks are less then reputable. So how much we talkin to replace this stuff... Will double rate works shocks be good for rough trail riding.. like big rocks.. will they work? cause right now the suspension on this thing is like.. TEH UBBBBBEEEER SUCKNESS. it tires me out in the first hour.
  20. i think i found my problem.. after a days riding, i took my tires off, and looks at them.. theyre bent to shit. is this my problem?
  21. did u take the head off? u need to do that.. u can take out the spark plugs with the plugs on them kick it and see if your getting a weak spark.. also did u gap the spark plugs correctly? they need to be a certain gap. I have no idea what it would be for a cub, but the stock is .20-.30. u can pick up a spark plug gapper at your local auto zone for like 4 bucks.
