the piston does show some overheating on the underside of the piston. What would lean it out though with no air leaks? Dirty carb? Crankcase had a small amount of oil on the side that blew. Piston doesn't have any wash on it. Why not?

It has alot of hours but it held up well. Look like the rings got caught in the exhaust port judging from the only marks on the cylinder were around the exhaust port. Rings are also seized in the piston (whats left of them). Maybe it was leaking a little coolant in there. Steady eating away at the piston bit by bit.

Because i did a leakdown test and it would hold pressure for ever. Worn out is about the only thing i came up with too

oh yea i forgot to mention. The engine has no leaks. Seals are good. Trying to figure out why this happened before i put it back together. It would still run but it was popping and wouldn't rev right. So i thought it might be a reed because it was sucking through the tail pipe a little. Changed the reed and same thing. So i took the pipe off and poured out rings in my hand. It doesn't have a fresh bore. i think its the first time this engine ever been opened

So i know the rings broke because they were in the pipe. Banged up the head. Second bike i seen with the exhaust side of the piston being eaten away. The other bike had no broken parts. The piston on both cylinders was losing weight on the exhaust side. Your analysis? lol i took the dynoport off and threw on some fmf's. Leak test revealed stator side crank seal gone. guy siliconed the stator cover on and it didn't work. must've been sitting awile. look like a opossum lived in the pipe with all that insulation. any ideas on how to remove it? The pipe is heavy like the S.O.B. still in there lol

Bought it about a week ago. Don't know how long it sat but i can tell by the replies it shouldn't be there. trying to upload a pic now. Bike does not run. Got 19cc domes in it. dont know why. About to tear into it in a sec. Guy told me he always had to push it off to start it. how do i upload?

No i mean the pipe itself is heavy and i can see in the end that connect to the silencer that it is filled with insulation like pink panther insulation. I was thinking this is some 2 into 1 thing. Some fell out the front/header part of the pipe when i tilted it

Never dealt with the 2 into 1 pipe. Pipe is heavy and filled with insulation similar to whats found in attics. Never seen this before. What gives?

My ex-buddy here in atlanta had a turbo, stock carbs, cylinders, stroke, port, on alky. The cylinders were reinforced or welded on the sides. Use to go down to atlanta motor speedway and woop on a few rookies. Thing was so touchy feely. We run 8th mile so at the starting line it was one temperture and at the finish it was a different temp. Out of 10 passes it would make 2 good ones. Dam thing get half way down the track and start popping. Everytime i used to scream in his ear "TURBOS ARE NOT FOR TWO STROKES". But you guys probally have better luck running 300 ft

Zing it up. pop the clutch. shift fast as u can. if u got stock gearing you should go through all 6 gears in the 8th mile. Keep doing it and you'll learn quick

take everything on the motor apart. From the rooter to the tooter. Thoroughly clean everything. Soak everything in a bucket of degreaser or some kind of solvent. Take a brush or something and remove all dirt, grease, etc. Let everything dry. hit it with compressed air, wipe it all down with a white cloth until u see no metal on the cloth. Replace all broken parts, reassemble and enjoy. Make sure the cases weren't damaged.

Hell yeA!! Got both bikes back in less than a week. Theives are stupid! You wouldn't believe the events that took place. I don't think these guys wanna even see another banshee ever again let alone steal one. That bastard swore up and down he didn't do it, but i wouldn't hear any of that foolishness. It was amazing.

you're right but ireally don't think he's smart enough to destroy it. I think time is definately running out though. man it felt so good finding that bike today and it gave me hope but if the couple of leads we got turnup nothing tomorrow ill send them over to have a word with him at least. I think h knows the jig is up which makes me think he might panic and try to get rid of the other one. The guy let us search his garage but i still think he knows where my bike is and i got witnesses that saw him with my buds bike so maybe we can still have him arrested. Like i said we aint done yet. Ok so first let me finish tellin how we gotmy buddy,s bike back. So were just riding through the spot that we were at the previous sunday and i quickly spotted the only banshee in the place. Im thinking that it can't be it but as we ride by me and my buddy spot some similarities. So i pull up right beside the guy and quickly notice the homemade gaskets for the exaust that i gave my buddy for his bike and i knew we found it. I ask the dude does he want to sell it and then he comes up with a price telling us it just came from the shop and its stroked blah blah blah. My buddy jumps out with his title and match the numbers and quickly just snatches his bike of the guys truck without incident. That should've told me right there that he was the thief and he didn't buy it from some guy like he said. At the time im interrorgating his ass till i was satisfied he was telling the truth so i bought his story at first and didn't call cops we just took the bike back. So the cops come and runs everybody off and as were headed back to our side of town we look up and the bastard going in the same direction but doesn't even see us. So we follow him to his house. The bastard stays 5 houses down from where the bikes were stolen from! Coincidence? Impossible right? We've yet to call the cops because were hoping this asshole will lead us to the other bike. This shit is far from over! Im thinking we should've had him locked up on the spot but we'll see what happens.
