If I was going to build a hill bike.... this is what it would be. (this idea has been discussed over the campfire many times) My ultimate hill bike would be a... Dune Ported Stock Cylinder 7mm crank +8 swinger 2 into 1 35mm carb setup Paul Turner Mids 9 paddle extremes Friggin thing would climb anything.... However, ive yet to see something Rippens bike wouldnt climb with his FAST dune port 4 mil. Rippen does have the sickest vids out there, and just wait till his dvd comes out... Shitty thing is, camera does the hills at Walden no justice at all, there is no run at the bottoms of the climbs, and they are WAY steeper then the pics/ vids show. Like hyperlite said, swingarm for those climbs are a must... This is what happens when stock swinger bike tries the nasty shit at walden... gets exciting.

Heres a vid of my raptor running my bros banshee...(mikes in this race to but he tried to pull a 900 ft wheelie to start lol) My raptor has PCIII, barker duals, Hotcam stage II, and a GYTR intake. (12.5:1 piston and bored throttle body after this weekend ) Banshee has pipes, vf3 reeds, adjustable timing plate, coolhead w/ 20cc domes, pod filters. Be careful racing for $$. I dont blame you, I would run 660s all day long, but watch out for some of the new 700s. There are a couple in colorado that have been pissing banshee owners off bad.

I always use a dremel tool to do it, but either will work fine. Just take your time, measure off the cuts you want, tape it and cut it. If you get in a hurry it will look like it when you are done. :thumbsup:

E-85 is good fuel and makes lots of power. Never messed with it in a banshee, but majicmike has a raptor on it and it rips hard. We had to richen the hell out of the MAP to get it to run (i think we added 40% more fuel to the map) so you will have to re-jet. Here is the E-85 topic Dave was talking about finding in a search. Ive got a stock swinger, and a brand new primary drive chain with 1 ride on it. Going to a longer swinger, thats the only reason for getting rid of it. $85 shipped for both. PM me if you are interested.

Use a heat gun or propane torch to take the stress marks out. Just make sure you dont get too close, they melt pretty easy. Just go slow and dont get in a hurry.

+1 stem with drag bars. As soon as I can get a stem for my raptor all my bikes will have drag bars. I hate bars that are high.

The old basket (OEM) is riveted on from Yamaha. You can drill them out, or grind the rivets off and punch the basket off. Most billet baskets come with the clutch cushions, and the hardware to mount it to the gear. They mount up with bolts instead of rivets.
