  1. straight from the clymer's manual.... they want the initial 3 1/3 ft-lbs bottom then top, then 7 ft-lbs second time, all while following the number sequence as stamped on the cases. i then tightened them down to about 20 lbs and made sure they were all nicely even and tight.
  2. whoops... $160 is what im asking.... i paid 170 from magic racing. figure someone would take a 10 dollar discount over what i paid at Magic Racing.
  3. ok, so i ordered the wrong size piston kit and now im stuck with either selling these and recover their cost or return them and face a heafty restock fee. so ill try and see if anyone here needs a set before i take the bigger loss and return them. this is a wiseco Pro-Lites .20 over (64.50mm) top end kit. includes pistons, rings, circlips, top end gaskets, wrist pins, and bearings. this is a new kit not used or opened since i received them yesterday. just looking to either sell them for $160 even or trade for someone that has the same kit in a .40 over (65mm) size. lemme know guys.
  4. ok so i ordered the wrong size piston kit for my bike this week and apperently i need a .40 over (65mm) piston kit instead. i have a complete .20 (64.50) over kit (pistons, wrist pins, rings, circlips and wrist pin bearings) that i either need to sell or trade for someone who has a .40 over kit just like mine. PM me and lemme know if you have it and are intrested.
  5. i may have a set for sale. fmf fatties with power core 2's. silencers are nicely polished (no raw aluminum) PM me if intrested.
  6. 400EX is SOLD!!!
  7. hey, also need pictures of the on/off switch cluster and of the plug end. if sixty 9 racing does not go through with the deal on the on/off switch ill buy it. thanks. pics to [email protected]
  8. bump for the night crew
  9. bump.... anyone? i know theyre not your top dollar pipes nor are they pretty or what not but hell, they perform! taking best offers... need em out so i can buy shearers.. i think ill also have some FMF fatties for sale as well here soon.
  10. i have a couple of bikes im trying to help my neighbor sell. she's movin up north and cant take the bikes so im helping her place em in the paper and forums. if you have any technical questions about the bikes, i can help to answer them. if you guys need pictures of anything else, just ask. first is a 97 Blaster with low hours on it. bike has excellent compression and is reliable. (starts evry 2nd or 3rd kick) bike has a couple of upgrades... pro circuit titanium series pipe and silencer, new front razor tires, and a set of skat trak rear paddles. bike is in great condition, clean and all plastics are in good shape. bike needs nothing. next, 01 400 EX. following has been done to the bike.... rear extended durablue +3 axle, front ricky stator +3 +1 a-arms, works performance shocks with rezzies, front TAG bumper, FMF power bomb header, FMF Q-series silencer, K&N filter kit, cool-air scoops, ricky stator lazer lights, cooler rack, IMS pegs, rear skat track paddles, and front razor tires all mounted on douglas wheels. bike is overall in great condition, very clean, reliable. bike starts evry time. plastics are also in great shape. both bikes registered till 2008. asking 2000 for the blaster 4000 for the 400EX. |---SOLD---| or 5500 for both. contact patty at 619-895-4385 or myslef at 619-427-8688 ( you may also PM me for anything else) pics
  11. theyre a nice mid to top end pipe set. work good with a stock or mild moded bike. coffman makes all the stuff for marine 2-strokes like jet skies and wave runner stuff. my neighbor that had it said when he got the bike way back when they were the best thing for the banshees. i rode the bike with em on there, pod's and jetting and it ripped pretty hard with em on.... only reason im selling em is cus im goin with shearer pipes for my porting job. the silencers remind me of an fmf silencer and the pipes i know ive seen similar ones built like em but cant remember who makes a close desighn.
  12. theres way too many things to do to your bike..... first off, where do you ride? sand? trails??? second, whats your budget? you may wanna read into the signatures of other people on here and see what they have done. answer a few of those questions and other people will have a better idea of what you are looking for in order to point you in the right direction.
  13. just for your 411, there IS a way to prevent bluing and discoloration from chrome pipes... all it takes is some silver heat temp paint, an oven and some time... dunno if you guys have heard of this method.
  14. bump for a price drop. 200 obo
  15. yea, i know theyre kinda old but they still will make a shee rip with the best of em. open to offers. bump!
  16. got a set of coffman pipe's and silencers that i wont be using. they came with the bike and since then ive cleaned em up some. pipes are stripped of all paint and are currently bare metal. i'll be spraying some hi-temp black paint this week. pipe's have no dents or anything of the sort. silencers are in good shape as well. no dents either. it could use a better polish (in my opinion) but you can run em as is and they still look good either way. only thing is the pipes going through the frame are a pitted from rust over the years. pipe's come with collars and clamp connectors. these pipes ripped when they were on the bike. need em gone as im getting cluttered up with all the rebuild stuff now. $250 obo.
  17. roger that guys, thanks! ill take evrything in and make sure this stuff gets done. just wanna make sure it gets done right the first time so i dont have to go back and do it again due to an oversight. also got the clymers manual a while ago to check in on all the steps along the way!
  18. heey thanks. yea, the rebuilding process is fairly simple (photographic memory when it comes to this stuff  ) im taking my time cleaning evrything makin sure no dirt or anything is on the bearings or my fingers while im doin it. ill pick up some of that gearsavers if i can find some at the shop. ill need to pick up a bottle of the yamalube i guess too. do you know if i shoud smeere a bit of gear oil on the seals before passing parts through them and such?? figure its better then placing them in there dry
  19. im over at my buddy's shop reassembeling the bottom end of the motor. anyone have any tips, suggestions to make the rebuild real smooth? anything you guys would do to ensure good sealing and such? ill be heading out to the local shop too to pick up some gear oil. what do you guy's suggest i use for it? (its gonna be a mild dunes bike with some mod's.... porting, pipes, carb, timing etc.... possibly looking at around 60-75 hp when all's said and done.) thanks.
  20. when your buddy plaed captain u-boat with it in the water, did you dump all the fuel out of the carbs and open the cylinders and such? just wonderin. all points show twards a head gasket altho im now wondering if riding along and all of a sudden goin into water may have warped something in the head due to the drastic temperature change therefore causing the gasket issue now (either by sucking cold water in the cylinder or cold water surrounding the juggs) just something to think about....
  21. white smoke usually means water bansh eman said... tho it could also be from condensation in a cold climate could it not? whats the weather like where you ride?
  22. wich hoses exactly are you unsure of? it seems like the case vents are routed correctly. hoses like the resivoir line you could get slightly intriquete and route it away from view. i recently parted my bike as well for a ground up build and im routing evrything as hidden as possible....
  23. intrested in the clutch cover and shifter. can you get me some pics of them? thanks. [email protected]
  24. note on the reeds...a cheaper alternative to those v-force reeds would be a set of boysen carbon reeds for the stock cages. only about 20 bucks or so and make a noticable diffrence.
  25. yea, im just gonna set it to where it backed out from. i have no clue what it adjusts. from the looks of it its there to act as a post for the spring on the shifter to return to center.
