  1. I won a F3 brake and C5 clutch for $53 shippedlast night.
  2. Is there not a performance difference? For $20 more I would think the C5 would pull better than the F3. With a Banshee clutch, I'm all about making the pull as easy as possible.
  3. Looks like I spoke to soon. Woods county didn't renew the burn ban yesterday. Blaze_up everyone.
  4. There is a hill over by the big dunes that we like to do tree shoots on. When ther is no rain the sand is so soft it is almost impossible to climb out of. I have rolled my banshee into a tree twice doing it. You get part of the way up the hill and the bike just starts to go to the left and stall. I is really a lot of fun.
  5. Actually I'm not sure where silverlake is in relation to you but OK may be your closest good dunes.
  6. Looks like there will be a burn ban in effect when we go. The county (Woods) has had a ban going week to week form January and there is not supposed to be any apreciable rain between now and next month.
  7. I would guess St. Anthony's dunes in ID I beleive there are also some dunes called silver lake some where up north, but I'm not sure where.
  8. There is a kart shop on 24 hwy in Independence East of Noland about 2 blocks that sell it.
  9. I will be there 19th thru th 22nd with a group of about 7 give or take. Mostly banchees. In the south campground.
  10. 40:1 Klotz Super techniplate 1/2 quart of oil to 5 Gal of gas
  11. Awsome. thanks
  12. Blew a head gasket down in OK. Got a new gasket from power sports, rolled the shee into the tent because the wind was blowing so mush I didn't think I could protect the open cylinders from sand, and proceded to replace the head gasket and torqued all the nuts down. took it out to the dunes and its running like shit and lots of noise from the top end. I stop and take a look at the top end. OH SHIT!! I forgot to tighten the spark plugs( just hand tightened them) and both of them are out and sand is everywhere. One time I am following my brother while trail riding at night in OK and he and a couple of other guys are throwin so much dust up, that I am having a hard time following them. At times I have to turn my lights off so I can see their tail lights gust so I can follow them. We were crusing down this one trail doing 30 - 40 mhp and I am trying to figure out where they are in front of me when all the sudden the dust clears and the sand drops away from me. They had turned and I was going straight thru the air and into a 3' burm. OH SHIT!! I actually tried to jump off the bike by jumping straight up, figuring I would go over the handle bars and land on my feet with my incredable ninja skills. My shins hit the handlebars and fliped me over. I remember thinking this is gonna hurt as I am heading into a bunch of brush upside down. "Luckly my neck broke my fall" and I bounced right up. The guy behind me thaught I was dead. He claimed my feet were above the top of my whip. I was pretty sore and stiff after that, but nothing was broken on me and the bike just had a bent up bumper. The first time I went out on a 4 wheeler I was with my brother and I was on a borrowed suzuki LT-Z250 (now my daughters bike) and I was going up a dune when the back tires started to dig in and I grabbed the clutch (on a LT-Z250 there is NO CLUTCH only all brakes). OH SHIT!! The front started to come up and over. I knew I couldn't bail fast enough so I clamped onto the bike with my legs (I wasn't about to let that thing supprise me with a blow to the sack) and the bike rolled over on top of me. It almost had enough speed to roll back onto its tires but stopped short of that. Again I was lucky I was not injured and the only part dammaged on the bike was a piece of plastic poped out of place.
  13. Has anyone ever heard of using the Honda trany fluid sae 80w/85w? Yes, I used to use that fluid but I found it to be to heavy and felt that it was robbing me of HP. I now use Castrol type F ATF. Much thinner and still coats the gears. Also a huge mony saver ($3 for atf $10 for Honda 80/85. Loco is right, the EBC clutches are junk. The instructions for the aftermarket clutches tell you NOT to reinstall the rubber rings. You need to remove them.
  14. Weather you yse alum. or UHMW dosn't matter. The clearance between the saver face and the outside edge of the chain must be less than 1/2 the hight of the chain link. If you stick to this number the chain cannot ball up in the saver. I have had friends who put on a saver with too much clearance to the sprocket and when it goes it balls up in the saver. Simple rule if it dosn't ball up it wont press on the saver, thus cracking your case. Chain whip will also crack your case and billet or plastic will serve you fine in that instance.
  15. DON"T use RED!! You will never get the screws out again.
  16. Mechanical Engineer / I design overland conveyors for material handling (power plant coal conveyors, cement plant limestone conveyors, discharge and reclaim)
  17. I also have not done the transfer ports on my bike yet. I liked the power gain I received from doing the Race Logic fast trail port and I wanted to do the changes in stages. I am tearing my bike down soon and I am going to do the transfers then and shave the head.
  18. The exhaust port moved approx 1MM up with the template from race logic. The template I bought was for a fast trail (Stage II) port. I would expect the super sport port (drag - stage III) will be even more aggresive. I have not moved my transfers yet.
  19. Engine Ice, Castrol type F and Klotz Super Techniplate (40:1)
  20. I'm tearing mine down this weekend to move my transfer ports up 1MM.
  21. I think mine look better. I have a much wider field of view at night. He has one beam that goes out far, but on the dunes at night you can not judge the dunes properly from a large distance. I think he is trying to find a single fog to replace the driving beam with.
  22. You need to look into getting the right kind of hella lights. They make two different kind of beam patterns (fog and driving). The driving beams are a narrow beam type and the fog are a spread beam type. My brother uses one of each, I use two fog.
  23. The Hell 1000 lights look OK. But you have to remove one of the lights to remove your plastics.
  24. I run 2 HELLA 500 lights on mine. Just buy the lights on ebay then get the brightest 35w bulbs you can get your hands on. I use the PIAA 4150K H3 Xtreme White Bulbs in mine. Also you have to wire them to the high beam wires on the bike. Also if you use the existing wiring connectors it makes it very easy to disconnect them if you should need to remove them.
  25. I did mine and they work great. I used a stage II port template from race logic. The only thing I can say is if you are not a patient person you WILL screw it up. You must be patient and slow and methodical about the amount of material you are removing. You can always remove more later, you can't put it back if you screw up. I ended up taking the better part of a weekend to do mine.
