Try squirting a little gas in the cyl. or into the carb with the throttle open. If it hits, then it is a fuel issue.

I run Dominator at 50 to 1 My first experiance with Amsoil was a guy who wanted me to inspect his top end. He was running at 100 to 1! I fully expected to see some scaring on his cylinders. To my amazement his top end still looked perfect, not so much as a mark on the walls, no carbon in the domes. At the time I was still running Yamalube 2R. That made a believer in me, although I still can't bring myself to go to 100 to 1!

Amsoil all the way! After seeing the differance on the internal engine componants in a years time,(tons of carbon with Klotz) I will never have any Klotz in my bikes.

I agree, sounds electrical. Have you tried putting in a new set of plugs? I have fueled fould new plugs before,when jetting a whole new set up. Where abouts in Oklahoma you at?

I might have something for you on the pipes. I have a set of Stainless steel coated T5s on my daughter bike. They are gray in color, but could be shot with high heat paint. I also have carbs but no cable & Uni pods.

cyl is aluminum, sleeve is cast iron. 100% sure.

Your guys test was spot on. The reeds should not let air blow back into the carbs. I think you are correct for letting him help.

A cheaper alternative to Snap on is thier Blue point brand. I have a 3/8 inpact that I've had for bout 15 years now. It is one tool that always comes out when working on the shee.

To only be young again! My first 3 wheeler was a Tri moto 125, then graduated to a 85 Honda 250r. Was able to come home from school & ride every day.I remember when the Suzuki 250r quad was unvailed, my buddies thought that the quads were some goofy looking machines, 4wheeels WTF! Little did I know what was to come!

Pull off the filter & look into the carbs. They should have a radius cut out at the bottom of the slides facing the filter.

The not idling part is bothering me. The main jets don't compensate for the idle. Have you had the carb tops off? Carb slides might be in backwards. I found this on a guys bike he had just rebuilt.

I think you made a good trade, congrats !! I does appear that the front a arms are stock, but crome. The only thing wrong with stock arms, is the uppers are easy to bend. They tend to bend where the flat ball joint tab connects to the tubing. The swing arm looks good though. I,m sure your son will like the power too.

chuck lighty on the head end bore in a 3 jaw chuck & indicate the face of the gasket surface. I make sure the deck height is the same on both jugs. I have also had good results with lapping the head gasket side.
