  1. I'm adding an HID and want to know if anyone is running the stock flywheel with an upgraded stator. I talked to Ricky Stator and they said it would dim at idle with this set-up. But if there's a battery I would think that would take care of low RPM situations.
  2. I wouldn't recommend this. Jet fuel ignites under high pressure. Plus it's diesel based which could gum up everything. But by all means give it a shot and let us know.
  3. It's not really a problem, it's reality. It's all a matter of physics as applied to the lever arm of the system. By increasing the length of the arm you push the compressive force (rear axle) out away from the resistive force (the shock), essentially making it easier to compress the shock and spring. So you need to adjust for this with a stiffer spring. It's the same as when you use a longer cheater bar to loosen a nut or bolt. Hope this make sense.
  4. The TORS are off. It sounds normal when at idle and only pops when I increase the R's or rev it. Although if I recall the air from both exhaust pipes didn't seem equal at idle. I've talked to a couple of other buddy's who seem to agree with this group that it's probably the reeds. Thanks for the help.
  5. It had a twist throttle when I bought it about 10 years ago. It has off-brand aftermarketr pipes and silencers. I believe the seller said they are Kaufman (not sure of spelling), I've tried finding them on-line with zero luck. Also the head was milled a few thousands. A few years ago I had a guy check out the engine sine it had never been apart for a rebuild that I knew of. All he did was port the transfer ports and a full tune/maintenance for me. This Shee has run flawless ever since I bought it, so I'm not too bent that now it's acting up. I took all the plastics off and checked the wiring harness and everything was fine. I double checked all connections to make sure they were fully seated. A friend suggested switching the coil wires to see what happens. I did this and it ran the same as with the original coil. Another friend was also thinking maybe dirt inthe carbs. I'm pretty anal about keeping a clean air filter on, but anything is possible when dealing with sand. Is this enough info for you or is there something I'm missing?
  6. Hello everyone, I'm new to this board. I have an 89 Banshee and over this past new years weekend to the desert it was running real rough. I finally have some time to try and figure it out. It's basically mis-firing first on one side then the other. This is happening at all RPM's. When at idle, it sounds okay, but when I bring up the R's it starts to pop real loud on one side. I've talked to a couple of people about it. One person suggested the coil so I changed it and it's still doing the same thing. Another friend thought of checking the reeds. I'd like to get some more advise before I start spending a lot of money chasing this down. Thanks.
