  1. Well it was a 3 a.m. jobber before we were goin riding and of course the shop wasn't open. I'll probably go pick up a set of pilots though so I get those right on.
  2. Get with dlnoss on the forums and he will be able to answer any question you have on what you need to run for your elevation, temp., octane. Or you can click on the advertisement above^.
  3. Higher compression will make a bit of difference if you run the right octane gas. Combine it with a good porting job and :baseball_bat: Hold on tight!
  4. I've got yellow plastics on mine right now. All I normally run is the fronts anyways. Where do you normally ride down there? BTW, those graphics are badass!
  5. The 1st thing I did to the shee was take the airbox off and put some dual K&N's on. It has T-5's on it but still had the airbox w/ airlid on and 280 mains. I can't remember exactly what the pilots were but it seems like they were 25's and after a little bit of reading that sounds way too low, which may be why I'm having a hard time starting it correct? I'm not sure what my mains are now, we just drilled them up 3 sizes, but I know they're somewhere around a 320, with the clip on the 3rd notch I believe (counting from the top). Once it gets started it runs like a bat out of hell so I'm going to try and drill out the pilot jet to see if that helps, any ideas on how much? Or what I could adjust on the needle?
  6. Is there a seal where the shifter shaft goes into the motor on the flywheel side? Mine is slowly leaking out oil.
  7. I'm interested in timing plate and plastics. What parts of Texas? My parents live in Frisco and I'll be down there in 3 weeks. I could pay now tho.
  8. You'll definately need to rejet the mains, not sure about the pilots. For the mains I would try a 300-320 range and see what you get. Do you know how to do a plug chop?
  9. I'd like to see a pic of the bars. Thanks.
  10. Go out and check the parking brake mechanism and make sure that everything is tight and what not. There's 2 pieces that if they seperate they will cause this exact thing. I'd be willing to bet this is the problem.
  11. Well I'm not gonna pick one but in drag racing it's not all displacement. At least 50% of it is setup if not more.
  12. Can't answer all the questions but for the low-end try going down 1 tooth in the front to lower the powerband some (unless you need to go 70mph on your track). And for the thumb issue, get a twist throttle if ur going to MX.

    Need New Head

So does the middle man get anything in this deal Doyle?
  14. I'd check ebay, they're was a ton of them on there last week. On another note, I ordered an advanced timing plate off ebay and it's coming with an extra stator (that I probably won't need). I'd be more than happy to sell it to you.
  15. I wouldn't really think it would make that much difference in the sand. It seems like ur basically just making a "redneck" paddle tire. I would just invest in a paddle tire if you're havin trouble hookin up in the sand.
  16. I couldn't tell you how old the cable is. I mainly do leisure riding/some trails/dunes/dragging. I dont know if I'll ever have 75HP either, lol. When you say alternate do you mean 3 HD and 3 stock springs?
  17. I was told that the bike has Dirt Digger clutches in it when I bought it but I haven't been in to look at it. The clutch is awfully hard to pull in (not impossible but after a few hours of riding my left arm and wrist are worn out). Is there anyway I can "loosen" it up? I've heard that Dirt Digger's springs are stiff and that less stiff springs would fix the problem, but is there anyway I can adjust it in the cable or where it connects down by the crankcase? Also, can I adjust the spot where the clutch lets out (right now it is way out, right before the clutch handle is all the way out). Thanks!
  18. Did you adjust where the throttle cable goes into the throttle case on the handlebars at all? I adjusted mine a little b/c when I got it it wouldn't idle and I adjusted it out too much and had a high idle and it wouldn't idle back down when I'd rev it up. Just a thought?

    Need New Head

PM DriveDoyle. He's got a stock head milled .25 I think that's in great condition.
  20. You really can't get low-end torque out of a 2-stroke in my opinion. I would think all you can do is move the powerband around by re-gearing. Try going lower in the front or higher in the back to get more "low-end power."
  21. Sounds like you might be suckin in air somewhere after the carb. Check the boots or take the stator cover off and spray some ether around the seal that goes to the engine and see if the rpm's change. If they do then you're sucking in air.
  22. Throw me in too please, it's always worth a shot!
  23. We'll have 2 banshees, 1 400ex, and 1 warrior. I don't have any new pics of it, just got it a week or so ago. It's bright yellow front plastic that's cut and i probably won't be running any back plastic.
  24. Man I wish I had enough money to get that boost bottle.....maybe gemini would want one :baseball_bat:
  25. We'll be there on Sat. October 7th. We're not campin, we're stayin in seiling and drivin up saturday morning and ridin all day then headin home.
