i live way out in the middle of nowhere and everyone drives their atvs to the bar and just parks them out back for tonight last night i went out to get on the good ole shee but it wasnt there, me and a few friends looked around then ended up calling the police and saying it was stolen, things got really outta hand when someone told me they seen a certain individual pushing it out back, the guy is a know thief in our area too, so we packed a truck with some guys and some crowbars, golf clubs, ect and went on a witch hunt, nothing happend but word travelled fast this afternoon some1 from the bar called me and told me they found my quad at the bar, some1 had went way out of thier way to mess with me, they found it hidden underneath a tractor trailer covered by sheets of wood that being said i got some cruel cruel buddies, i had no insurance on it and i figured was done for but nothing was better than when i sat back on the seat and kicked her over this morning, was better than the day i bought it
-

i do ride in water and mud sometimes, but i just cant use the snorkle with my setup so it will bog, what is my best bet to maintain this kind of airflow with some better protection?
-
right now im running a kn filter stock airbox with the lid but no snorkle ifr i put the snorkle back on it will bog out on me cause its getting enough air but i ride in shitty coniditions sometimes and last time i hit the track i took alot of dirt into my carbs im thinking if i out the snorkle back on and drill a few holes in the box i could probley end up with somewhere the same airflow as with it of it will be harder for dirt to get in? or should i try the kn powerlid with and outerwear anyone who has tried with of these setups let me know how it worked out for u

well whenever i do something i got the attitude like go big or go home, so if i gotta rip apart my engine then im gunna beef it up, i dont know a whole lot about this stuff so what parts am i gunna want to put into er, so i get a port, stroker? i have no idea really what these things really are so hit me with some info guys so far i thinking wiscoe piston rings, bored out a few sizes? or should i go big as i can go? and a noss cool head im mostly going to be riding mx, jumping, trails and some full throttle riding road/dirt dragging my buddies any other ideas also im thinkin of a 2-1 trinity 35mm carb setup this winter as well
-
i used 2 different gauges mine and my buddies both came out relativly the same i checked each cylinder many times with both gauges throttle open and throttle closed both came out pretty much the same, the readings of approx 90psi left and 100psi right are my best readings with the throttle wide open i believe my elevation is somewhere between 600ft and 800ft
-
rechecked a few more times, i got about 90psi on left 100psi on right seems low to me but performace is not really that bad, i mean it should be pretty shitty running at that psi shouldnt it? maybe im doing the test wrong? anyone have some exact steps for me? also my dad said that if i pour a small drop of oil directly into the cylinder then recheck them if the compression rises that would mean i could have bad rings because the oil was sealing it, we tryed this and no improvement? is he on the right track? also i checked my buddies banshee just down the road from my house and he had 95psi each side, both out bike run pretty decent so maybe i dont have a problem??
-
in my last thread i had problems with inhaling alot of sand into my carbs and i think it may have led to a compression problem now as i understand i should have around 120 compression new? well i tested and i came up with approx 85 on left and about 105 on right obviously thats a problem, im goign to go ask a buddy to see if he has another tester i can borrow and recheck. but even if mines reading wrong there shouldnt be a difference like that i know where do i go from here guys? do i need to quit riding it or should i ride the piss outta it for now?
-
shit new problem, very low compression now, and i can notice a lil dif in the ride now im startin a new topic about that SHIT!

any ideas anyone?

i finally made it out to my local mx track and i gotta say i had an amasing time and i plan to sink as much coin into this biike as i can over the winter to make it more mx suitable, even though i know most will sayi should just get a different bike i love my banshee too much and all my buddies own them to so its just awsome when we all rip around town on out bikes that being said i also dragged my other buddy that has a pretty much stock banshee and beat him pretty well and smoked a 400ex in a drag, i have no idea what he was running. now to the problems... i am running fmf fattys with powercore 2's. boyesen power reids, dynojet stage 2 kit and a k&n filter with the snorkel removed. problem 1... my airbox was caked in dirt, my filter was caked in dirt, my carb intakes were caked in dirt and needless to say my carbs had alot of dirt in them. i cleaned the carbs up and got her running again. seems to idle a little rpugher but not terrible since i have cleaned her up. if i run the snorkle it bogs down badly what can i do to keep enough airflow without doing this to my bike again? im running at approx 600ft, what should my carb configuration be with these mods? (only thing i know for sure is that im running 280 mains, the carbs were setup at the local shop and i never asked them what was put in) problem 2... what can i do to gain a little more in the low end for mx racing? my number 1 concern is suspension but before i have enough money for that i may have some money for a 2-1 carb and a coolhead would this be a good inverstment? and if so what size domes? problem 3... AHHH my thumb was killing me after just a few laps, my forearms a little but not nearly as much as my thumb any suggestions? thanks guys

i guess i would like to put my name in the hat!

i forgot to bolt the rear chain slider that mounts to the frame just before the rear sprocket the chain i just put on is a rivet style not a slip style so i cant take it back off to put the slider on, this shouldnt be a problem should it?
-
problem solved i couldnt slide the axel all the way in due to the skid plate being in the way, took it off and used some muscle and got the axel to slide up all the way. then was able to modify the skid plate to fit back on. SWEET thanks for all the help guys

well im headed back to the shop today maybe, guess im going to try some different gears to see if i can get it too fit any recommendations? knowinng that i couldnt get 14/41 or 15/41 to fit my mods are in my sig im thinking ill prolly have to drop a tooth or two in the back, which would be same as adding to the front right? so maybe go for a 14/38...14/39 maybe? that should come out somewheres around the 15/41 right? or would somewheres around 15/44....15/45 be more appropriate? any input

anyone think its a bad idea to take off that bottom roller? also if anyone know where to find the roundhouse carriers let me know? that mean i need a new swingarm if i go that way??
-
i checked out that site and i seen that they have a 1/2 link for the Tsubaki chain thing is that if you see that chain thats 2 pictures below under the chain listings ie the D.I.D. 520 ERV3 X-Ring Chain thats $183 well thats the chain i got. kinda sucks you pay all that extra for an all gold racing xring chain then i might have to stick some other 1/2 link in it thats not even gold. think im gunna see what the dealer says bout it tmr during the day guess im gunna play with that gearin calulator a lil too see if i think somethin may fit? thanks for the help txalky if anyone else has any ideas/opinions feel free sheefreak or big red tell me a lil more about the roundhouse, where do u find them. how much? worthwhile mod besides being able to get 1 dif gear on

there is 1 space (ie groove between the 2 teeth) this is without the master link, if i put the master link in there then the one pin from the masterlink takes up this space which leaves one hole needed to be filled with a pin from a the master link. im not one for words so ill draw a simple diagram here /\_8_/\_0_/\___/\_0_/\_8_/\ = without master link /\_8_/\_0_/\_o_/\_o_/\_8_/\ = with master link attached to one side of chain other end of master filling the gap from before but not attaching the 2 sides of the chain i hope u know what im tryin to say here if you dont i can take a picture with my digi
-
wouldnt running 2 masters be the same as i had broken it the 1st time when it was to loose? seriously is there a such thing as a half link?? seems like a pain in the ass and a real downfall to by this really expensive chain then have to do something like use to masters or a 1/2? link this doesnt mess with the integrty of the chain at all?
-
i can get the two ends together if i take the chain apart at the top of the reat sprocket and put it together beside the sprocket but then the problem is i cant get it back on obviously but with one link more it to much that i cant get ride of the slack. it almost seems like taking half a link of would have fit perfect, which as far as i know you cant do. i also tryed to go back to the 14 front and i couldnt get that either, i must be missing something here. what is a roundhouse swinger
-
Just got new sprockets 15/41 and a new DID x-ring gold/gold. My problem is i cut the chain and fit the master without pressing it to see if it would fit right. No go, way to loose no matter if i had the axel as far back as i could. So i cut another link and attempted to "dry fit" it again without pressing the link. Now its to tight that i cant get it to slip over both sprockets for the life of me. I have searched and seen others with this problem but have found no1 post a solution. Someone help please this bike is killing me everytime i work on it i need to get extremely drunk to forget my pain.

i wanna get a new suspension for my bike, stock isnt the greatest and i like to jump alot. I am thinking about doing some mx racing next spring so i plan on upgrading my suspension. Just wondering what a good all around suspension upgrade would be. I plan on doin the a-arms and front shocks soon and maybe the rear shocks, swingarm and axel later on. i want a good setup but not they very very best, i dont have a fortune to spend so i guess im looking for a setup that will do well in mx if i decide to get into it but not something thats overkill. yet something that will work way better than stock or low quality aftermarkets i dont really know a whole lot about shocks n such, so im looking for opinions on what to buy. brands, lengths, widths ect... like i said i dont know much about this stuff but i wanna learn, so i can make my own informed decisions so please explain why i would wanna go +/- or standard travel vs long, ressies/no ressies ect... thanks for help guys
