anyone know the name jeff ross? he has the 2nd quickest quad in the world last year and this year it is third quickest....and its a ds. it is a 830 on nitrous....his wife races it also...REAL EFFIN FAST. he comes to our drag races here in missouri and a guy nicknamed crazy c is all about banshee's, has a 115 hp banshee weighs 150 lb on drag frame cant even get close to his bike....dont remember what jeff ross' bike is putting out. my neighbors ds will run 94 top speed, and i can just barely stick with, but in 300 ft its all me by about 3 bikes. they are fast, but like everyone said costs at least twice as much for them to do what a banshee will do. my neighbors bike (and mine) has taken several several cam'd and piston'd yfz, craptors, big bore 450r's ltz's with ease. those bikes around here are a dime a dozen. about 50% of people have them. very few have banshee's...kinda sucks

banshee stuff who needs what?
barely legal racing replied to GYTWYPT's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
i need a good stock crank preferably with good bearings...i like in cuba, missouri. 65453....prices???going into a new rebuild.... -
they are not as heavy as everyone thinks they are, with me on my bike it weights 630, my next door neightbor has a ds and has alba full exhaust, ported and polished, k&N, rev box (adjusts timing also) and jetted, and with him on it it weighs 660.....thats only 30 lbs more, i can beat him by about 2, and we go to a local state park and can beat cam'd and piston'd 450r's and yfz's all day long...and his bike rides like a damn cadillac like no other bike...so smooth, and really cool cuz it has a factory tach, i just tell him its for fags who can ride....but anyways it is really quick....it also helps when you can ride good, he is one of the best riders ive ever seen. that makes a difference...

yeah i always take off in 1st on pavement and lead all the way up on the gas tank and drop it, its spins the tires but only for a second then it takes off ....on dirt and sand i always take off in 2nd, and i got 13 front and stock rear. Works good for me. be careful racing on pavement, i had a set of moose clutches. :shoothead: in my bike and raced on pavement, took off real hard, clutches came apart went through the crank seal and locked up my bottom end. got dirt diggers now not had a problem....just my ..02

how much does the ceramic coating cost? got any pics of yours?? im interested in what it looks like my pro curcuits are looking kinda rusty nowadays

there was a bike i raced with some weird lookin paul turners, said it was piped and jetted and stayed right with my bike, and ive hung right beside bikes with the same setup as mine with a port job pretty easily, my mods are .30 mil head, .40 wiseco's, vforce3, k&n clamp ons, powerblades +5 timing, toomey aluminum radiator. he was just piped and jetted and i only beat him by a bike....does this sound right?? never seen such a fast piped and jetted banshee.

place to buy a shift kit?
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i have a stock shift star, seems to be ok. another problem is when shifting down, the shift lever falls too far down, doesnt click down, goes way down. This is different than any other fourwheeler i have owned. i know something is wrong but dont know what, seems like there isnt a stop on it or something goes like 2 inches lower when shifting down than should, but sometimes (like 10% of the time) it will catch and shift down properlly. where do i get a shift star? i dont really want to buy that spring for 70 bucks unless it really really helps, especially after i bought powerblades for 200 and got them turned out to be a 2 in square box with a piece of cheap metal in it -
i used to run techniplate until the dealer here stopped carrying it, they recommended castor 927, ran about 5 tanks through and smells just like klotz, i cant tell a difference between them, other than the color, castor is yellow so you cant hardly tell when you pick up a jug if its mixed or not, but i think its really good oil, and about the same price. i am going to continue to run castor but id go to techniplate if they had it

i bought my 2000 this year pro curcuits on it fresh rebuild crank up, really clean, new tires, minor stretch marks on plastic, and big aluminum radiator for 2500....id say it isnt worth any more than 2500

can anyone say CAN AM?
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in General Banshee Discussion
well was there anyone else here to witness, cuz personally i call bullshit, i talked to my buddy that owns cowtown and deals them he said they wont be racing them til the come out, which will be in FEBURUARY. THE ONLY BIKES THAT ARE OUT NOW ARE PROTOTYPES THEY TAKE TO SHOWS, why the HELL would they take a prototype to an event like that....my bud said thats highly impossible and called them WHILE I WAS STANDING THERE and they told them there has not been an 800 released period, just show bikes -
when drag racing, my bike misses shifts like crazy, and its not the driver, several people ride it and when i go to shift its like it never leaves the gear and sometimes have to shift it up like 4 times to hit the next gear (only when drag racing). is there a stiffer spring or something i could try besides a different tranny to keep my shifts quick and percise

what new pipes to buy for mods
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
-i drag race, 300 ft not loose but not wet sand -tires are 22in 4snows on backwards -gearing is 13t front and stock back -for suspension, it is lowered in the front, and rear is stock. Yeah it pulls up but i can sit up real far and ride the wheelie through third and pop it up in fourth. Works out really good and looks cool too, i will have a +4 when my port job gets done -

barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in General Banshee Discussion
it would of had to been a prototype, and yes i have the august dirt wheels also. drags dont bore me at all, im not skilled enough to do anything else lol but that bike is like a utility, but without the racks, how u expect it to handle like a sport bike? all i was talking about was DRAG RACING....thats it. I said it would blow any sport bike away...cant compare it to a freakin sport bike handling, it has twice as much ground clearence, twice the weight, 4X4, and probably half the handling. -
right price on porting?
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods

can anyone say CAN AM?
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i think that can am is coming out with a fuel injected 400, not a 450, from what i hear. and also the guy i know just races and races his and never has had any problems with his bike. The new brute force's do run good but ive seen them race the 800's and can am gets them by about 3-4 lengths in 300 ft. and where did u see this happen, the renegade doesnt come out til feb, just prototypes right now, shitty ones at that. the guys that deal them here went to some atv show or something in vegas or somewhere, they let them ride the 800....on guy rode it for 10 minutes and the wheel fell off when he slapped a tree with the back end, they said it was tack welded together, it wasnt a solid wheel, had a little insert that was....freakin tack welded....can am says its just a prototype that it will all be different...but who knows, nothing has ever just fallen off my yamerhammer since i bought it.....only thing that fell off was the stickers when the shee hit light speed -

yeah u have a point, im just saying what ive seen, these things rip, i wouldnt ever give 10 grand for a new bike, maybe in 10 years when gas is 20 bucks a gallon and a new truck cost 80 grand and wages stay the same yeah i might, whats wrong with our fucked up economy...reason these bikes cost so much is because they are four wheel drive, and probably cuz they are built here not in japan for 2 bucks an hour...but i dunno, ive seenwhat they do and am VERY impressed, and also i ran a 700 raptor bone stock not even broke in the other day, i was impressed, only beat him by like 8-10 lenghts, depending when i finally gave it gas oh and torque is what gets you down the track, not horsepower, thats just bragging rights, the renegade has 73 N/m @5500 rpm
