What happens when the throttle sticks?
barely legal racing replied to MagsDragon's topic in Rides Of Shame
i had an experience with twist throttle, soon as i bought my bike it had twist on it, i rode a wheely into a tree when it stuck, broke the handlebars in 3 spots, bent the rear axle, the swingarm, ruined 2 wheels and plastic got all stressed up....and not to mention the soreness afterwards, it wasnt fun -
right price on porting?
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
yeah i know they are totally different, but everyone around here says he's the best around....i dunno, if i can get them for the same price somewhere else you guys have gotten urs done, then i will, just has to be either back on my bike by aug 12, or i can let the bike sit for however long after that, i just got it going after my rings were shot, rings were on backorder for 3 weeks, and i was about to loose my mind cuz i didnt have it....i dont know if i can let my baby go that long without touching her powerband.... -

yeah you guys definately got me thinking, i just thought the huge ass radiator and aftermarket water pump would take care of it...i know it runs warmer but i dont know about how much. i can take it to a state park and drag race 3 hours non stop just tearing the shit out of it (maybe thats why i have to put rings in it every 3 months) and it wont overheat or anything, stays running fine...but i will definately look into a noss head, after i get ported of course, thats my main goal right now. -

his name is Jim Evans, used to have a shop in St. Louis now its in Rolla. He did the heads on my dads 347 stroker and did a damn good job, car screams, and my uncle has an 87 monte w/a 454 and 2 250 shots and jim pretty much built the car from top to bottom...all 1200 horses of it -
can anyone say CAN AM?
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in General Banshee Discussion
if u guys dont think that the renegade will blow past a stock or even piped and jetted 450 u guys are dreamin...at the drag races here at cowtown (they are the ones who deal the can am here) have tons of people with 800's just blow bikes away in 300 ft sand, on pavement its a different story, but they weigh so much and have so much torque they just take off, and its so easy to handle them, you can drive them in 4X4 with one hand on pavement wherever you wanted to go, ive seen these bikes run.....around here, its like our sport bikes we all have..vs.. the 800's, and their fuel injected new 650 is only a bike length behind it, i took 1st in modified class last time, and jeff ross' wife has an 800 outlander would almost take mine with the mods i have, minus the pods and rejetted. i would give anyone my bike if they could bring a completely stock craptor, yfz, 450r or even suzuki 450 here and wax an 800 off the showroom floor, thats what they do, they go get a damn bike off the showroom floor and run it against other bikes to prove how fast they are. My buddy with a DS with ron woods box, alba exhaust, jetted, and ported can run right beside our mechanics 800 with it piped and fuel injected controller, and the ds has won its 4 stroke class the last 3 drag races. i dont care what you guys say these bikes the damn 800 utility is the fastest production bike made til feb. These guys are so proud of the can am's (its pretty pathetic really) that they have atv pulls and crap to show they can pull the most....im not obsessed like it sounds its just im saying its gonna be the bike to beat stock for stock. i'll post a vid sometime of the 800's in action...drag races are aug. 12'th anyone wanna put titles on what i said before show up...my title is clean and ready to be given away! -

i would send them to trinity or somewhere but i dont want to be w/o a bike that long, i can take my jugs up there and pick them up a few days later, he live 30 minutes from where i do...kinda convienent...and they say he's the best from around here, he builds some bad ass 1000+ hp cars and trucks and can just talk circles and circles over my head, but i think i'll try it and hope it makes a good improvement....my bike is pushing low 60hp, what should it raise it to be....mid 70's? -
can am means canadian american....bought bombadier out....and if no one knows...this feb. they are coming out with a fuel injected 800 selectable 4X4 sport bike. One of my best friends own a dealership where they deal these bikes, and eat shit and dream them....the bike is called a renegade. for those that have seen an 800 outlander run you can just imagine, this 800 utility will smoke ANY STOCK FACTORY BIKE MADE. and its a damn utility. my bike mechanic has one piped and has sand tires on it with a fuel injection controller....when my bike was piped jetted, vforce, filtered, powerblades and sand drag tires i could JUST barely hang with him, and we'd both smoke piped jetted yfz's, 450r's craptors, and the renegade is supposed to be 3 seconds faster 0-60, producing 72 horses stock....thats a monster fourwheeler...these bikes are gonna change the new standard i think, and pretty soon EVERYTHING will be fuel injected....the price tag on these bikes are a steep 9400 bucks, but i think that in a few years when every bike is fuel injected they will come down, but jesus these bikes are fast.....

the way i race my bike is exactly how i race my car, when u hit ur shift point i keep it wot, and slap shift, i race a lot of bikes that are faster than mine and beat them like this, just never let off the gas, i grab the clutch, kinda slap it and shift, you cant even hear it shift its so fast...but thats just what im used to, takes a little getting used to whatever way ur gonna do it so all u need to do is just practice, but your shifts need to be the snappiest you can make them whatever way you do it, ive raced guys i swear they'd pull on me a half bike and as soon as they shifted (let off gas and shifted, then got back in it) i'd be dead even with them, id gain a half bike every shift...but its just how u like to do it.

anyone around the st. louis area?
barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in Drag Forum
its located about an hour southwest of st louis town called cuba, missouri, i can try to get a copy of the flyer and post it on here, i think for each class is 15 bucks or so, now more than 20. Time before last was 100 percent payback for 1st, and little prizes for 2nd and 3rd, but last time it was 1st gets 50 percent, the more bikes, the more cash, but its all about fun, some wild bikes come out! -

barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in Product Reviews
now, how much does the head and domes cost??, and exactly HOW much improvement does it make over a .30 milled head.....my head cost 30 bucks...now compare that to..how much...is it really worth an extra horse or two -
best things ive found to clean my bike is i steam clean it really good, let it dry, take a can of tire foam and spray on the plastic and seat and anything thats plastic anywhere, let sit til it gets a little tacky, then wipe off with a cloth really good, it really shines!!, for the wheels and pipes i use an sos pad, scrub good but not too hard, wash off let completely dry, then use mother's aluminum wax or metal wax, i bought the powerball but that was a waste of 40 bucks, so i use a terry cloth to put it on, rub it til it gets black all over, then i buff it off really good with another terry cloth...when i get done i again use another terry cloth to buff even more (a clean one ), and its like a mirror! bike looks bitchin when i get done, but its hard work cuz it just gets dirty the next day! you guys wouldnt believe what a simple SOS pad will clean i was amazed!

barely legal racing replied to barely legal racing's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
whoever knows exactly how to mod them....pm me please, with directions whatever to do -

i heard you can modify to make them better....can you? if so how?

i have the powerblades in mine (same thing) what sucks is u have to buy 2 of them one for each carb costs like 200 bucks but i did that vforce 3 reeds and adjustable stator all at the same time and it made a HUGE difference, like 7 or 8 lengths at least, but couldnt tell you how much the blades did by their self, they are just a little metal cheap piece that seperates the air flow going into ur carb, supposed to push more in it harder or something but i dunno, i wont buy them again for 200 bucks

how much compression do you have to upgrade to race gas...
