Congratulations!!! I also picked up the same quad you did. Ain't SHEE purty!?! Old-school yellow and black is the shit. My friends who don't ride laugh at me 'cause I'm a Steelers fan of 30+ years and they think I got it just because of the color scheme.

Only other current toy is a 1984 KXT trike. I'm in the market for a new Raptor at the moment. -
With Nortons, open up your icon and goto "Antispam". Make sure both settings for "Ad blocking"and "Pop-up blocking" are turned on. If so, go to the "Live update" button at the top of the Nortons window and try to update your software. With Windows, goto "tools" in the top portion of your browser and click "pop-up blocker" to see if it's turned on. If it is, I would also look for updates. Spybot won't help with pop-up ads, only trojan horse type files. I don't run adware so I can't comment. Goodluck!

Thanks Cracker...I'd appreciate it!

Congratulations on the purchase! I also bought an '06 with FMF Gnarlies/Q series. I'm having jetting trouble also, but my plugs are black. All I know at this point is the main is a 280 and pulls well higher in the RPM range. My problem is off idle. Good luck trouble shooting...and riding!!!

My Sheera is running poorly down-low (idle-1/4 throttle) after receiving the quad with Gnarly pipes, Q series silencers, K&N filter and a dyno jet kit. The air lid is on and I'm just above sea level (300-500ft). Shee runs smokey and has a lot of soot on the end caps of the silencers (32:1 mix ratio). One plug is dark and the other is black (no plug chop performed). The main is at 280 and seems to pull strongly at 1/2 to fullish throttle (haven't reved it out yet). The air screws seem to do nothing at all. The longer I ride the worse it gets until it stalls while giving it gas at idle speed, and won't restart without the choke(?). After reading the pinned threads on carbs/jetting it seems to have too biga pilot jet (not sure what size shee has now) or to low of a clip position (don't know the positioning). I'm wondering what size jets people are running with this setup at my elevation. After I recover from surgery it's going back to the shop and I'd like to give them an educated starting point. Don't bother with the "fix it yourself" stuff as I only received it 2+ weeks ago ('06) and I don't know how. The shop is going to let me watch, and provide me with a shop manual so I can hopefully do my own work in the future. Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks for the replies! I will keep looking. I'm not interested in saving money, it's the convenience factor. From reading other posts I'm under the impression NJ requires registration and insurance on the trailers and I was trying to be lazy and not stand in the DMV for hours. But the last thing I want is a Shee with a case of road rash!

I need to buy a trailer to haul Sheera from place-to-place and I'm soliciting opinions. She will be towed by an SUV. I will only be towing one quad at a time. I'm comtemplating the tilt-a-rack http://www.tilt-a-rack.net/quad_atv.htm or the versa haul http://www.versahaul.com/# . - Does any1 have either brand, and if so, how do you like it? - If you don't prefer either, which one do you like? Thanks in advance!

All parts are stock and have only been used once(to my knowledge) by the dealership during testing/tuning of the jet kit and exhaust. - front shocks (sold) - full exhaust system - rear skid plate (threw in with the rim/tire and shock sale) - 4 rims and tires (sold) My wife is going to list them on ebay soon, but I thought I'd offer them here first. I will contemplate any reasonable offer, and the buyer will pay the actual shipping charges (none of that ebay mark-up BS). I will ship them any method you choose (overnight or ground) and can get insurance if you desire. I've never sold stuff before, so if I forgot anything regarding shipping we can discuss it. Thx! nomad (damon)

Thanks for the input. It's running very rich from the "factory" (smokey). I was told to mix it at approximately 32:1 by the dealership down the street.. I just mixed the gas up and I'm waiting to use the remainder off the original tank before putting in new fuel. I was shocked that the owners manual had it at (24:1). I have my fingers crossed. Thanks for your $0.02! I'll put it toward a 4WD system for the banshee.

The "bog" is so bad that when I'm in nuetral, it won't even rev up; it just putters. I raised the idle slightly and closed the air screws from 3 full turns to 1.5 turns. It runs a little better in gear, but still can't rev the engine at all in nuetral. I got stuck in the mud because i refused to rev the engine high enough to get outta of it. I only barely touched the "power band" 2 times in 1.5 hours in 2nd and 3rd gears. I only hit 4th gear once. As for the people talking about getting her dirty...IT's A QUAD....AN OHV! What the hell are you supposed to do with it (rhetorical)!?! It's gonna get dirty sooner or later. The water in NJ seems to take the dirt off: Maybe it's acid water

I'm not sure if it's like looking at your own newborn versus someone elses baby, but my quad is beautiful! I just had it delivered this morning, ran it around the block and let it cool down several times and headed for the swamps. I rode in some of the nastiest "swamp mud" and got stuck five times. My brother-in-law winched me out on his Polaris 700 each time and we were off. The only problem is my low-speed jetting. From idle to 1/4 throttle position Sheera bogs or has very little throttle response. I've read in the jetting section about the pilot or air screw settings, but being that I have no experience working on her yet I'm going to take her to a dealership down the road for help and hopefully watch how they work on the carbs. The bike came from the dealership with a K&N (lid on), FMF Gnarly and 280 mains (300ft elevation and no engine mods), but I don't know any other jet settings. My mother-in-law took a picture of it after I sprayed her off today, so I'll scan it in when the film is developed. I feel like a proud pappa! :baseball_santa:

I actually purchased Elka fronts. The rear isn't available yet to the public. I was assuming I would go with the Elka rear, also from the manufacturer (Eric?), for geometry reasons. But I assume if people run aftermarkets up front and a stocker in the rear that any aftermarket rear with the proper setup would do. I appreciate the feedback!

As a teenager I took 2 different friends for a total of 3 abortions (I was not the "father" of any). Everyone is entitled to their own opinions/decisions. Whether you agree with it or not, I feel you should support their decision regardless of personal beliefs. Try and put yourself in their shoes and you'll quickly realize that there's no good answer if they weren't expecting a child or ready for one. IMO, watching out for a friend is helping them in any way THEY need it.

I'm glad your parents are doing well, and I'm sorry about your friend and his family. I was reminded about the same things over the last year; life is VERY precious. Keep your chin up and "carry" your friend with you where ever you go.

It must be nice to live in Canada. Per my friend who's a manager at a Yamaha dealership, and the Yamaha website, they aren't coming out with an '07 Banshee in the states. Your message prompted me to go on Yamaha's site and double-check. They have their '07 models out and there's no mention of the Banshee or Blaster. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/overview-57.aspx Another retro color scheme for the Banshee...sweet!

Thanks for your opinion and the link. I will shop around before making a final decision. I spoke with Eric (per his reputation on this site) regarding the fronts and he seemed excited about the rear. I hope because Eric took my order and helped me with my decision, he'll have a hand in the setup/fabrication. I'm sure which ever rear I get will be better than stock.

It's a sweet quad no matter what color you choose. Both schemes would look good, but IMO, yellow/black or red/black are the oldschool looks. I'm glad everyone has done SO MANY different appearence mods with their Banshees, so they all don't look the same (individualism is #1). But I like the older color schemes, and when Yamaha went to blue I thought it was ugly (still do). So, I vote for red/black! Good luck!

Money isn't an issue. In your opinion, who makes the best rear shock for a Banshee? I'm not interested in cancelling the Elka front setup order (sports&racing series). I will be riding tight trails/swamps 80%, woods 18% and track 2% of the time. I won't be doing any big jumping. I don't know enough about suspension to have a ton of adjustments available, nor do I want to play around all day trying to "dial it in". Thanks!!!

Yamaha made all the right changes between the 660 and 700. The 660 has all of the handling issues mentioned, but the 700 is lowered a bit and widened. Yamaha obviously listens to their customers. I was going to buy one, but when I found out that '06 was the last year of the Banshee I had to go that route for now. The Banshee is a quad icon and the Raptor is still improving each year. I will have another tough decision to make after buying Sheera....buy a Raptor or finally get my '84 KXT restored. While I love the sound of 2 strokes, the torque of a 4 stroke is undeniable. And EFI is 21st-century-cool on an ATV IMO.

For those of you who don't know, the UFC has turned into a near gay experience since introducing their "reality" show. 5-6 fights a show, celebrity interviews, bimbo-cam in the audience and fighter hype is stupid shit to an MMA fan. I've watched every UFC on PPV or live (A.C.) since 1996 (UFC 5) and it's now bordering professional wrestling....only without the stupid signes in the audience. Pride fighting is still number one, and again for those of you who don't know, you'll soon find out who Wanderlei Silva is; the baddest fighter at 205 out there. He should (I'm not naive enough to think Chuck doesn't have a punchers chance... he strikes well and has good take-down defense) make Chuck the icequeen look silly in the octagon. The UFC has deeper talent at the lower weight classes, but Pride has all of the talent in the upper weight classes. I was actually telling my wife that after 10 years of watching the UFC (and $25 more an event) that I will no longer watch them, until I saw Wanderlei come back over to fight upChucky. The Pride fans are also much more knowledgeable and respectful than American (yes I live here) fans; they don't boo at the drop of a hat and they understand the ground game. I watch these events lately and all we do is booooo if there's no standup. They should go and watch toughman contests if they want to see hail mary's for 15-20 minutes. Silvia is a scrub too who wouldn't stand a chance against the likes of the Emelianenko brothers or Mirko Crocop.

Yes, he said it was a new rear link and he mentioned long travel. I wish I could've understood all of his information. He spoke to me in his language as opposed to mine....LAMEN! I thought I'd pass it on and those of you who are mechanically inclined could seek more information from Elka. At this point in my re-discovered (childhood/teenage years) pasttime (hard to find a good place to shoot all of my toys in NJ), I have more money than brains!!! :ermm:

Sorry for the "green" question, but the search didn't turn up much information. Can anyone tell me from experience, what are my exhaust system options for obtaining/maintaining good HP levels while still meeting the strictest of decibel level laws? At best, I would get a mild port/polish job with a cool head (forseeing future mods, but shee will remain stock for a while). I would hate to trailer my quad to a park/track and be turned away for a noise violation. Thanks in advance! Couldn't delete the post so here's the verducci: Told y'all I was green. I was searching on decibel versus spark arrestor. Opinions are still welcome, but I've quickly learned that I need to make sure the pipes are spark arrestor compatible. I miss the early 1980's when this noise stuff wasn't an issue (unless it was regarding the local farmer...and his shotgun).
