  1. IMO, you don't need a R1 clutch. A simple clutch from Jeff @ FAST or an equivalent clutch with the right lock-up set-up will give you plenty of runs.

  3. Try going a 123 mph or faster on a quad. I think you would have a different perspective! ETs can be a lot quicker with a lot less mph, around 20 mph less. Maybe that's what you are getting at with "Not impressed".
  4. We are really surprised with the mph with the stock gearing. All we have done with this set-up is tune it to stay alive in the 1/4 mile.

  6. We have had that head on 3 different cylinders & used around 7 different sets of domes. Not one problem with the head or domes. That's our experience & I'm not doubting yours.
  7. The thing that worries me, you stated the tire looked flat at 8 lbs. I'm all about safety 1st & that statement concerns me. Are them tires new or used & how many runs on them? We are heavy rider's also & weigh up to 230 lbs. fully dressed in leathers. We have ran a +8" & +14 arm with our lightened stock frame, 443 Cub , run both 1/8 & 1/4 mile. We run our pressure between 5 & 7 lbs. Our quickest times come with 5 lbs. Ultimately the time slip tells the story, primarily the 60'! IMO, anything under 5 lbs. is a safety hazard.
  8. At least you didn't go Windy on the post. We understand you & other's have had problems with Cheetah domes. They didn't slow our junk down. While we are not the fastest, we are well ahead of most.
  9. I'm pretty sure you have to buy the domes from Trinity. There's nothing wrong with the Trinity head. Our head was bought in 2004 & is still going strong today. We went high 9s - low 10s in the 1/4 mile & 3.94 in 300' with the head & off the shelf domes. This was done with a 443 Cub on race gas, stock frame, with a 210-220 + lb. rider.
  10. This is the key statement for me. This is the only ATV site left that I know of that still provides good solid overall information of all kinds. It stays in existence because of site sponsor's, site contributor's like the premium member's & not to leave out the non paying member's because they contribute with information also. Plain & simple this site probably wouldn't continue with out cash being paid to Tyler! The way I look at it, if you don't like them facts then do not use BHQ. I will try my best to support the Sponsor's here 1st. If they don't or if they cannot provide what I need. I'll go to who can provide it. The one thing I will not do is take the cheap way out. Finally, as I continue to use this site. I will continue to contribute to premium membership fees & Tyler can continue to suck my mudflower!
  11. I asked for some info for a reason. It's needed to figure out what's "a good avg tire psi rating" as you put it. Once I get that info, it may or may not be clearer to you or whomever. Sorry to be so gruff!

  13. It's funny how people with no asphalt experience, think they really understand what's going on. Until you have done it, you don't have a clue! But you can buy them from SKEETER, he has plenty for sale. bb509, to better answer your questions more information is needed. Frame type, swingarm length, engine size/power, tire size, rim width & distance being run.
  14. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your 1st post! Did you read post # 2 of this thread? I used my car racing background, along with my research to develop our ATV clutch program. There was a lot of hard lessons along the way, but with a lot of testing/R&D. We have came a long way. Now, a good many are trying to play catch-up.
  15. A trusted source at VP told me that Q16 makes more HP than Alky, but alky makes more torque. Our results, quickest ET & MPH has come from Q16.
  16. I don't know what most guys are running, but we ran this configuration of 14 Rippers. We ran them on our 443 race gas cub, stock frame & 210lb.+ rider & went high 3.90s @ 80-81 mph in 300'.

  18. We have ran a butt load of Q16 & it works very well when you get it right. It's the quickest & fastest fuel we have ran to date. We found on our combo that 2 or 3 jet sizes doesn't cut it. Power Jet didn't work with it. We ran it with only 160 lbs. of cranking compression. This is what we observed in our testing!
  19. We put the cut off side on the pressure plate. It hasn't caused us any problems, but the pressure plate is cheaper than our multi-stage lock-up.
  20. High speed cut off wheel is where I started. I like to use my small cable cutter now & dress up the ends after.

  22. Even though we are trying not to go fast. We went 13.64 today @ 88 mph, it's the best ET so far without trying. We only made one change; lowered the base pressure a little. It went faster, but we gave up some reaction time. We will set-up the clutch like the 1st race.
  23. Having some teething issues with new suspension. Out in the 1st round again, hopefully get it figured out soon!
