  1. I switched the mains up to 290, still runs like crap.. its gotta be something else. I got a video of me running through all the gears at full throttle on flat pavement, you cant see anything but you can hear how the Banshee's running. It really runs like crap something is way off, it has no power anywhere the way it is now my ttr125 can easily take it in a race or even my Polaris 330 Trail boss. Video: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=1956390432
  2. yeah I put in whatever came with the moose tors removal kit... I just looked at what was in it about 3 minutes ago. It has a 200 Main... Which is to much for stock pipes, I just went down to Albaa to get a few things and I bought some 290 Mains to replace them, sadly I meant to get 190 Mains..
  3. lol, I was just kidding I am probably getting less than 40hp haha
  4. Here are some pictures of the chopped tipped stock silencers. After I did the modification I put my Banshee on the Dyno and it put out about 239.6hp and 158.7 foot pounds of torque, I wasn't surprised seeing as it was such a major modification.
  5. Its hard for me to get up to speed because it is not flat and there are many trees, fences and sheds in the way... There is no straight line across just very curvy.
  6. Hey, I finally got my Banshee running! :woot: The new CDI did the trick. The only thing is that I am not sure if it sounds rite. I now have my Banshee running at a +4 timing, so I am not sure how its supposed to sound. I have stock pipes with chopped tips, UNI air filters, and no air box. I recorded a video of it for you guys to listen to and see if it sounds alright. It definitely is much different with the +4 timing. I feel like it has nothing off the start even when revved up, it just bogs out, but once I get it going it really hauls through 2nd and 3rd (I have yet to go past 3rd due to the fact that the Banshee gets across my 5 acres of land before I can get to 4th), sadly it bogs down when taking off in second as well which will make it difficult to drag  . The clutch which is very hard to pull actually wasn't much of a problem when I was riding it, but I am still going to invest in the Moose easy pull system. Well check out the video and tell me if it sounds alright. VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf-jP-QWSXo (it may not work for a bit because I just uploaded it)
  7. Hey, I am going to be at Ocotillo from Friday to Sunday for presidents day weekend and I wanted to see who else was going?
  8. All Pipes Listed Are Small Bore Pipes. The Order Goes as Follows: BRAND - NAME ~ POWER AREA > (WHAT KIND OF ENGINE ITS FOR) In Frame Pipes ++ALL ROUND POWER++ (not the best at any one thing but good all round) FMF - Fatty ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) = Toomey - T6 ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) = DMC - Alien ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) = DMC - 916 ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) = Paul Turner - Midrange ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) = Pro Circuit - Platinum ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) = DG - National ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) = Bill
  9. I am going to add the Trinity's, Bills, and Rocket Pipes.. Is it possible for me to edit my original post, the edit button is gone on it now.. Is it to late? I would much rather just edit the first one than keep posting that whole list.
  10. yeah I managed to find some DG Nationals on some website I found online
  11. Yeah I was thinking about adding both of those ideas as well, I could do the pictures but the 1-10 may be a bit hard and many people may object. I am hoping to get this pinned once all the bugs are worked out. Once its good I will probably re-post this in its finished form. And the FMF Fatty and FMF SST thing I talked to some outside sources and what I put is correct, it even says on there website, so I don't think I am going to change those around unless I have some proof.
  12. Well I brought my bike down to RATBIKE0130 house and he looked over it and fixed a few issues. He determined that the CDI was the problem because he tested all the wires and fixed anything that was wrong and it still wouldn't fire so the only thing it could have been was the CDI. I ordered a stock one from Ricky Stator and it should be here in 2 days . I ended up stopping by a San Diego Yamaha dealer and brought a few more things. I got: ModQuad parking brake block off plate. After market Clutch lever and Perch. Renthal front sprocket. JT rear sprocket DID 520 X-Ring chain. and a bunch of misc. gaskets and bearings. I put together everything today now I am just waiting on the CDI, I really hope that fixes it I am dying to get on my Banshee again. Oh and I made some custom Lexan splash guards for the air filters which came out awesome, I will get some pictures of that soon if anyones interested in seeing them. I have one problem though after rebuilding the clutch and putting the heavy duty springs and putting on the after market clutch lever it is extremely hard to pull in the clutch lever. Theres got to be a way to solve this problem, I want to keep all the heavy duty clutch springs for maximum power to tires. I saw the Moose Racing Easy Pull Clutch System and was wondering how well this works? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Two thumbs up for RATBIKE0130 :thumbsup: he did a great job .
  13. Hey, I just want to try and make it easier for people to figure out which pipe is best for them. I just feel that there are way to many topics based on "Which pipe to get". I tried to list as many pipes as I could find, but if I missed any, or maybe got the Power area or the what kind of engine its for wrong just tell me. Hope this helps! All Pipes Listed Are Small Bore Pipes. The Order Goes as Follows: BRAND - NAME ~ POWER AREA > (WHAT KIND OF ENGINE ITS FOR) In Frame Pipes FMF - Fatty ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) FMF - SST ~ Mid/High > (best suited motor built for high end power) FMF - Gnarly ~ Low > (best suited for a motor built for low end power) * Toomey - T6 ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) Toomey - T5 ~ All Round > (best suited for a ported motor) * Paul Turner - High Rev ~ Mid/High > (best suited motor built for high end power) Paul Turner - Midrange ~ All Round > (best suited for a semi stock motor) * DMC - Alien ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) DMC - 916 ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) * Pro Circuit - Platinum ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) * Shearer - Inframes ~ High > (best suited for a ported motor) * CPI - Inframes ~ Mid/High > (best suited for a semi stock/ported motor) * DG - National ~ All Round > (best suited for a stock/semi stock motor) * DynoPort - 2 into 1 ~ Low > (best suited for a motor built for low end power) * MotoFast - 2 into 1 ~ Low > (best suited for a motor built for low end power) Out of Frame Pipes Shearer - Drag ~ High > (best suited for a ported/bored motor, recomended for drag racing only) * CPI - Drag ~ High > (best suited for a ported/bored motor, recomended for drag racing only) * Wicked - Drag ~ High > (best suited for a ported/bored motor, recomended for drag racing only) * Grand River Racing - Drag ~ High > (best suited for a ported/bored motor, recomended for drag racing only)
  14. Basically there is no spark. The coil is new, the wiring harness is new, the stator is new (200 watt Ricky Stator with Timing Plate). T.O.R.S. is removed. The Parking brake is still there but there is no electrical wire coming off of it, I don't think 89's had a wire coming off it. all the points were it grounds to the frame have been sanded to bare metal. I have no Key, but the key wires are crossed which is what I read to do. I just got it back from a shop called Rancho Motor sports, they installed all the new parts listed above but they couldn't get it to work and frankly I don't trust there work at all now. I don't have the tools or the knowledge of how to test the electrical system, which makes it impossible for me to tell what the problem is.
  15. You do have to remember the experience and skill of the rider effects your performance more than anything. You could put an unexperienced rider on the best quad in the world and he still wouldn't win. You gotta know how to handle your beast. I smoke all my friends on there 450's riding on trails and dunes with my Banshee but I have been riding for a lot longer than them, so I know how to read the terrain better.
  16. Hello, I have been working to get my Banshee running for quite some time now but I haven't been able to get the darn thing to spark. I need to know if there is anyone in or around Temecula California that can fix my Banshee? Does anyone know of any good shops in or around Temecula that specialize in repairing Banshee's??
  17. I have an 1989 Banshee, the J-arms were alright I used them for a few months but the I had someone convert my bike to an A-Arm bike so I could upgrade the suspension. The A-Arms are way better, much stronger they just feel more responsive. I say convert your J-Arm Banshee to a A-Arm Banshee and put some 2+1 A-Arms on it.
  18. Ok, well I just took the paint off all of the ground wire contact points and the ignition coil mount and tried to kick it over but it still didn't work. I check the parking brake and it is there but the is no wire coming off of anything in the parking brake area, back by the brake and by the clutch lever.. Are you guys sure that 89's had a wire coming off of the parking brake?
  19. lol, if only I had a key. I wish it were that easy but if it was as simple as that I would feel like a Dumbass haha.
  20. I have heard a lot of good things about the Shift Star mod, which you can do yourself or order an already moded one from F.A.S.T Racing. Shift Star Mod: http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=69 Another mod I saw which claims improved shifting is the Shift Shaft Mod and Easy Spring Which F.A.S.T Racing also sells. Shift Shaft Mod and Easy Spring: http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=132 I bet if you did both it would shift a lot better. Has anyone done the Shift Shaft Mod and Easy Spring? If so how well did it work?
  21. I don't have a key, sorry I think I worded that wrong. It had a key at one point but I lost it in a crash, so now it doesn't have a key. The shop just didn't know what those wires were for because they didn't think old Banshee's came with keys.
  22. I am going to grind off some paint were the pickup coil is. It still has the same clutch lever and I never messed with the parking brake, although I did look for a wire coming off the lever or the brake itself and never found one, Just a metal cable like the clutch cable. I crossed the red a black key wires, the freaking shop I brought my Banshee to didn't even know it had a key so they never would have got it started, they couldn't figure out were all the extra wires went, they thought that it didn't have a key because it was old. I can look at a wiring diagram and point out that it had a key any day. I am located at Temecula, California.. The shop I brought it to is a new shop called Rancho Motor Sports.
