  1. Ive always run UFOs, Im kinda partial to them, never had any issues. Ive always run stock style plastics too, although if I was runnin dunes or drag you bet Id throw some full bores on there though!!
  2. Nice!! Maxxis makes some nice stuff, I even have Maxxis tires on my truck. The only complaint Ive heard about the I Razrs is that they wear a little faster then other tires.
  3. You guys still taking paypal donations?? Lemme know, Ill fork over some $$ for the HQ build.
  4. Damn, straight up pimp status. Bump for ya bro, nice lookin covers!!
  5. Whats up bro? What kind of tires and rims were on those bikes? I'm looking for a set of Razrs or Razr2s on aluminum rims. Also, did one of those bikes have a 6 pack rack? Ive been looking for one of those too.
  6. Theoretically yes, but you can't actually take it off. I suppose you could file it down, or cut it off though. Sounds like the caliper seized up though. Tear it all apart and clean it up.
  7. Damn, that thing with a +4, 4mil 421 cub, and 22" mud tires is gonna be tearin ass up those hills. I got to get out there and see what it's all about. I just put my carbs back together, but I'm waiting for a day that it doesnt rain so I can sync them and play around a little bit. Still tryin to get my new bike up there though.
  8. No kidding, whenever they can make a bike that has been out and reliable for at least 5 years, Ill have no problem spending the dough for a enw one. Yamaha, and everybody now has a tendency to change a whole bunch of shit at least every other year to try and make a bike work decent. Can't go for that... While I appreciate all the technology and R&D into this bike, it just looks like a whoel bunch of stuff that 1 - I dont need. 2 - Will break. 3 - I don't know how to work on. But If in 5 years there bike is unchanged, and they run strong, Id be willing to eat my words and buy a brandy new one at that!!
  9. Honestly if I was going to go 4 mil, that's what I would do. I know they can report a set that has allready been ported, but I would start off all stock. Also, what kind of pipes are those T5s? If you do end up getting rid of those jugs down the road shoot me a PM. I have a buddy that might be interested.
  10. No way Jose!! Cubs are stricyly drag and dune. If youve ever ridden one, its definately not something you would want to be playing with in the trails. Powerband hits very high and very hard. Its basically a cylinder that is drag ported from the factory. Id look into an RZ engine if you want something thats going to be a beast in the trails. I have no problem keeping up with my buddies' 4 strokes on my stock stroke MX port though. I do have a lot of suspension mods though.
  11. I'll second that. I think they are chargin 300 for single preload or 400 with 0 preload. Dont remember for sure though. Otherwise you might try "shane" with wolfpack racing. I'm pretty sure he used to do them for members on here, but Im not sure if he still does or is even still around. +4 man huh?? You must be doin all hillshoots up there. Crazy....
  12. Hmmm, you running a stock head? If so, the compression is just OK, shouldnt make it run like that though. I'd say yeah, check the carbs, I let them soak in a big coffee can full of carb cleaner overnight. Also, the brass part that the needle goes through taps out through the top the carb. Tap it out, and clean out all the green gunk. Sounds like a carb/reed issue now.
  13. Stock Banshees arent particularly known for their suspension. A 400ex is about a 20 year newer design. Throw a -1 swinger on there and some +2+1 arms with good shocks, and its a whole different ballgame though.
  14. Roundhouse or stock style? I'd reccomend the twin row carrier if your going stock (has 4 bearings total) holds up much much better.
  15. Not sure about the Raptor shock, but if your rear is too soft your either too heavy or the shock is long blown. On my stocker at the heardest setting I would get bounced all around. My advice, would be to send it out to TCS and have it rebuilt, that way you have the correct shock for the bike, and it can be recharged again and again in the future for $50 after the initial rebuild. I think TCS is getting about 300 for a basic rebuild/respring though. I was never a big fan of using suspension parts from different bikes. A shock really has to be set up for the correct stance/weight/riding style to work properly. If it were me Id probably save up and wait or pick up a newer used Banshee rear shock.
  16. I agree 100% Looks a little rich, otherwise fine.
  17. Nice!! No better feeling then fixing the problem yourself.
  18. Took my carbs apart yesterday to clean and try to tune. Came out ood, as long as I have another good day to tinker with it, I still plan on bringing both my bikes out on the 27th and 28th. Post a reply if you plan on going, I'll PM my cell # and we can all meet up if anyones interested.
  19. Looks like a good deal!! Welcome to the HQ, keep an eye on the riding and events forum, I'm heading out to PA later this month, and there are always rides going on.
  20. Sounds like something not so good happened inside your cylinder. If it were my bike I'd throw a compression tester on there ASAP and go from there. There are a couple things I can think of off the top of my head but a compression test will tell you where the problem is for sure. 1- The cylinder leaned out and you burned it up. 2- The reed petal broke, or is bad. 3- The carb is way way out of adjustment. Those are the 3 most common things, but like I said you wan to check the compression, if it's really low in that cylinder you probably burned it up. Also check the plugs too, and see what they look like. They should be a brownish/black. Usually if you blow up the bike or its running too hot they will be a greyish color. Obviously, make sure the plugs are good too.
  21. Ill second that!! I just did away with the wiring for my rear light, I hate how goofy the stockers look, but I'm kind of regretting it now. ANy idea on price? If you can post it.
  22. Nope, one cable is longer then the other, but I forget which. Just go down to your local cycle shop, and the right cable can be had for about 20 beans.
  23. :yelrotflmao:
  24. Damn good deal. Some guys actually prefer these over the VF3s!!
