Question on this unusual jet combination
Snopczynski replied to jon321's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
When RD jets come into my shop, they go straight in the trash can. "NO RD JETS ALLOWED!" -
What all is done to your motor, and what type of riding do you do?
-
bet him a large pizza, and watch his narrow power banded ass get smoked. You should have no problem getting the holeshot and holding him off for a 100 yards if you can actually ride.

Im not jumping all over anyone. I just dont understand the hay look at this by a second party saying they are "doing testing". The way it looked in the OP with a video that had his logo, was that Matt shearer had some sort of direct association with what was going on as well. I have seen a few things that to me seem to defy the laws of.....well what makes sense. Here I am reading a post about a motor with a redline of 9,750 rpm, stock cylinders, and the apparent need for 38mm pwks? WTF? Are you somehow hiding a 10mm stroker crank, rdz drag port, and a set of out of frames on that somewhere that I cant see? If Matt Shearer says the pipe is designed for Trail riders, than what is it thats going on with the 38mm pwk's? Most of the 2 into 1 pipes I have come into contact with have a 1.125" diameter stinger outlet tube (same size as one dual pipe for a set of big bore pipes). If thats the case with this pipe, then there would have been no logical way that this setup would benefit from 38mm pwk's. You would never be able to move enough air out of the motor to justify the amount you were trying to allow into the motor. Not to mention the issues you run into with trying to move that much air through a set of stock type cylinders. The question about burning my leg was one of MANY Questions I wanted to know (Questions that many people often overlook). Because If I get on my bike with my $450 pair of sidi crossfires on, I would like it if the pipe I ran did not burn a fucking hole in one of them. Doesn't really make sense to buy a $500 exhaust system and ruin one $225 boot does it? As for the airbox, I have a battery on my bike, and it the exhaust clears the stock airbox, then it should clear my battery. From the pics I saw, the rear bend through the frame made it look like it was going to be close. Again, I was not specifically focused on these questions, but they were questions that would have to be answered for me to be interested in the pipe. I have a lot of time on the dyno with 2 into 1 pipes, and not just chassis dyno time either. I have a ton of time running them on the crank dyno, which actually has an engine brake on it. I like low-mid motors! My bike, the bikes I build, and the bikes I ride with are all dune bike setups with low-mid motors in them. 2 into 1 pipes are supposed to be right up my alley, they should be the #1 pipe I recommend. You know what, I would recommend them if they did what everyone thought they did, if they performed the way everyone thought they do. Sadly they dont, so until I see some promising numbers, I cant stand behind them. So I am waiting for someone or something promising here to happen that changes my mind about this. Instead of saying "why are you worried about if the pipe burns your leg?", why not say "this pipe clears your leg great!" or " This pipe does have an issue with burning your leg". Ever thought of doing that? By the way, if your trying to build a midrange motor, a set of vforce reeds aint the way to go either.

What stator do you recommend?
Snopczynski replied to Snopczynski's topic in General Banshee Discussion
rm and ricky stator use the same distributor. -
The trinity setup is a mid-top pipe. Pro circuits are a low-mid pipe. Not anywhere near the same type of power output.
-
Take the pod and heat up the rubber on the outlet of it with a heat gun. Put it on the carb freshly warmed and tighten it down with a real hose clamp. Do not mess with it until its cooled off. It should stick on at that point.
-
Who is "WE"? Slightly bigger carbs....yes. Fucking Huge carbs......NO!

All that land at one time was open dunes. The forest service planted european desert grass, and in turn that made a habitat for trees to be able to grow. The forest service admitted they made a mistake when they introduced european desert grass. That is our riding land, there is no off limits sign, so we ride it.

Exactly. When are we gonna get some answers?

What stator do you recommend?
Snopczynski replied to Snopczynski's topic in General Banshee Discussion
When you guys make statements like this, you need to clarify if your saying Ricky Stator, or Rick's motosport electrics. They are two entirely different companies with different made products. I dont need your opinion on a company that you read about somewhere else. I need to know what stator you run and your opinion of it. -
Dynoport and motofast made the 2 into 1 pipes as good as they are going to be. Rich Daly at Dynoport is one smart dude, and he uses a dyno to make pipes (he ported my cylinders). I ran a motofast pipe a long time ago. I also ran a dynoport for a few years up until about 2 years ago. My observations are based on dyno testing, and then real world seat of the pants testing. When I want to try something new, I will borrow the part, dyno test it, and then decide if it makes sense to buy the part and use it. This is what happened with the dynoport pipe. I dynoed a borrowed set of Pro circuits and decided to ditch the dynoport for them. I am glad I did. They make more power than the dynoport pipe did in every aspect of the power range from the bottom to the top. Its like I said earlier, twice! Im not interested in running a single pipe unless I get the answer to every single one of those questions I asked. I haven't played a whole lot of xbox in the last 3 months, but I may get on here soon.

Your getting inconsistent results, that tells me right there the fuel is messing with you. Anything like variance in squish, compression, etc.... can cause a difference in reading between both cylinders as well. Trying to jet off what the plug is tellin you on full race gas is gonna make you crazy, because you wont be close.
-
I beg to differ. My pro circuits on my motor put out 5 more hp on the dyno than my dynoport 2 into 1 pipe did. Dynoport has a dyno that they developed their pipe with. If anyone doubts Rich Dalys' skill, in 2008 he held the Asphalt drag title on his 900cc sled.
-
you cant read plugs on a motor that runs full race fuel. The toluene in the gas washes the plug down. You have to jet it on a dyno or by feel.

I would want to know ALL of the following before I would even consider buying or running the pipe. Target power range of the pipe (low-mid, mid-High): Dyno comparison numbers to a competitive pipe in the same range(same bike, same dyno, same parts): Dyno charts with torque and hp curves: Setup on the bike its being ran on: Db output of the silencer for sound requirements: Fit with stock airbox, pod filters, and coolant bottle brackets installed on the bike. Also leg contact with the pipe sticking out on the RH side. I have run the motofast, and the dynoport. I am not going to spend money or recommend another 2 into 1 pipe until I know the answers to ALL those questions.
-
Pilot jets have nothing to do with the top end. Thats main jet. Midrange is needle. Idle and up to 1/8 or so throttle is the pilot. I dont think the fuel delivery is slacking. I think more than likely they are jetted improperly.
-
This is more than likely a jetting or electrical problem. Just because a low-mid pipe focuses the power around that rpm range, doesn't mean it wont pull a high gear. My bike revs out into 6th gear no problem. You need to check the jetting thread to see what other people are running for jetting in those carbs, or call cascade innovations and ask them for specs.

For what? ?????????????????

Lets not get all fucking crazy over this until there are some hard numbers. Its intriguing that Matt Shearer is working on this. Lets try not to talk shit until we know a few things.
-
Is it supposed to be a mid-top pipe, or a low-mid pipe?
-
I may be looking to get a stator. I dont need anything high output, as I run a dc conversion with a battery. I wanted to see what was the most reliable and well built recommended setup. Dont even recommend a ricky stator or RM stator setup.

There is an S&S Motosports near where I live.

421cub W/Mikuni's, anyone tried it?
Snopczynski replied to cobrabc1993's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Well there you go, some direct input on the 34mm. Just verify your setup and adjust away. -
I run a set of 22x11x8 10 paddle superlights at 3.5 psi all the time. Front steer tires I run at 6 psi.
