  1. Nothing but great experience with Packard aswell... Great guy to deal with. I'd also like to know what was done since I use lectrons also and i'm fairly new to them.
  2. "worth it" is kinda loaded question.. what might be worth it to one.. might not be to another. I dont think there is any brainwashing anywhere.. Each person makes the decision that they feel best suits their wants/needs. to each their own.
  3. Yep sure did Austin. pro-x / supioror sleeve / esr.. Same difference.
  4. Thats 100% what i was getting at. Nice post.
  5. a cool head on pump gas with who's and what domes???? also.. is that a milled and rechambered head??? or just milled.? also.. if it was rechambered.. who rechambered it?
  6. I've seen gains by as much as 10% just by switching to a custom dome design without adding compression. A custom chamber can taylor the power to suit your style of riding.. wich is huge!!
  7. I think i see where you think I disagreed with myself.. I corrected it. either was refering to you post.
  8. I didn't disagree with my self.. a stock head CAN be just as good as a cool head.. But not from a mil alone. The domes that come with a cool head ARE NOT the same design as a stock head and are a more effiecent design.
  9. Dont get me wrong.. a stock head is a option and can be just as good as a cool head for less money.. BUT I dont agree with the "Mill and run" theory... And I think thats what most of us are getting at.. And alot of us have been down that road and know whats at the end. I've also had heads milled without changing the squish in my younger years and it didn't end well. It went into deto and smoked a piston. I dont beleive on a pump gas setup that the gains of milled head is worth it either. Now a mill and rechamber by someone who KNOWS dome design taylored to your motor (port specs) and your riding style.. WELL worth it. And if your serious about power.. a cool head is a must. There is certain dome designs that are not atainable with a stock head.
  10. Like I said.. there is ways to bandaid it and cover up the problem.. at the exspense of HP...
  11. nothin is instant.. But that file you posted is some pretty good proof. Look at the MSV, and thats only a .038 squish. I'm by no means a expert on dome design. When squish gets tighter.. your MSV increases along wit heat. So if you mill the stock head with out rechambering.. the MSV COULD (depending how much was taking off) be too high and cause deto and lead to piston failure. Now.. you can run a tighter squish if the band and angle have been adjusted to compensate. But were not talking a rechambered dome.. we're taling a stock dome design with increased compression.. Some dome designs are more prone to engine failure then others.. Some can get by bandaiding the problem. Orcourse at the exspense of HP. Again.. i'm no expert but.. take it for what it is.. My opinion.
  12. holy hell!?! a drag!? lol we wont know what to do with ourselves down there.. lol we can't do anything cool like that. If someone brings a drag and my truck is capable of pulling it.. I wont mind pullin it around.
  13. our sand is soft too.. we can't get into our dunes unless we run 10-12psi in the tires.. Is it the same way there? or do they still get stuck even while running low pressure?
  14. I didn't see where he said running .035 squish is a great idea??? yeah.. MSV is 30.7.. read the notes on the right side...
  15. Hey slo... did you look over that data file.. What do the red letters mean?? looks to me like "possible deto and piston breakage" lol I take his info as this.. Stock heads are fine with low compression because there is still enough meat to rechamber the head. With HC applications too much is milled off and not enough head is left to create a proper dome configuration. Just the way I took it.. I still wouldn't deck anything off the head without a rechamber. And I still say .035 is too tight and that data sheet he showed comfirms that with the MSV being too high.
  16. I'd win!! lol Also.. how do most people with big alky motors get to the strip? and how do you haul the fuel? Just tryin to figure out and what arrangements need to be made. We usually load our bikes and fuel in the truck and haul it out. If trucks can make it out there then we'll be fine. I'll just load everyones fuel in my truck.
  17. Already accounted for chris! if we end up getting that gooseneck.. we'll have even more room! lol
  18. how long are the swing arms on your bikes.? I know we'll have lots of room if they have a stock or +2
  19. we might have room for you guys in a caravan.. were working on getting a big gooseneck to take a bunch of bikes in. and you guys could ride down in the motorhome. Save on fuel. i'll keep you guys updated if your interested.
  20. lol thanks dave.. Much appreciated. But I should be fine. I'm gonna go with your crystal ball... lol Sure would be nice if someone wanted to split fuel with me! lol anyone in the north want to meet up on I75?? let me know!! lol Buellar??...... Buellar??
  21. Man.. I'm trying to figure out if its worth me spending 100 bucks to go and run... I think it'll be a last minute decision.
  22. I dont like how its using the OEM tank.. too big and bulky. The better conversions I've seen use raptor and YFZ chassis's. You have to cut the upper rail to fit the motor.. and it always looks cheezy when you have to cut the frame to fit. Just my opinion on it.
  23. We were thinking Tues afernoon (when everyone gets out of work) that would put us in OK roughly between 12-4 on Weds.. get some time to relax and drink a bit after we get there.
  24. anytime i see a street bike conversion with a banshee.. I cringe..
