  1. haha yea thats good for a raptor
  2. .22 horspower is from the example i gave you....you have to punch your own numbers in in order to calculate your horsepower. i just gave you the steps to calculate horsepwer. here this is what you want to do. mark off a 100 ft distance and weigh your quad and yourself (add weights together)this will give you your weight variable and your distance variable. all you need is a time variable so time yourself racing to the end of the 100 ft than calculate just like i showed you. EXAMPLE - me and my quad weigh...600 pounds i mark off 100 feet on a closed road (safety first) i time myself to get to the end lets say 5 seconds if work = distance x force and power = work / time work = distance x force work = 100ft x 600lbs work = 60,000 ft-lbs power = work / time power = 60,000 / 5 s (seconds) power = 12,000ft-lbs/s since 1 horsepower = 550ft-lbs/s you take 12,000 and devide it by 550 to get 21.818181 therefor the horsepower of my quad (if this were true) would be 21.818181.
  3. you could figure it out if you knew the steps.... 1 horsepower is equal to 550 ft-lb/s (foot-pounds/per second) def work... a force thats applied over a specific distance therefore work = distance(ft) x Force(lb) say you have a 10 pound box and you want to lift it 5 feet lets figure out the work involved work = distance x force work = 5ft x 10lbs work = 50ft-lbs so it takes 50ft-lbs of pressure to lift a 10 pound box 5 feet high but this formula doesnt give us the specifics we want. if you want to know how much power something has you need to factor in a time variable. Power = work / time ( / means divide) power is measure ft-lbs/s (second) take example one and factor in the time it took to lift the box... say 2 seconds power = work / time power = 50ft-lbs / 2 s power = 25ft-lbs/s therefore your power would be 25 ft-lbs/s ....or .22 horsepower and remember that 1 horsepower is equal to 550 ft-lbs/s
  4. i wouldnt think that it would float right side up because of the weight but if it flipped upside down i know things are lighter underwater so it might work...i had a close call the other day thats why im wondering....luckily it was only 4 feet where i fell through and the front of the quad stayed on top of the ice while the back was on the ground underwater. it was realy easy to lift out so i think it is possible to float upside down. hopefully someone on here has proof that it does or doesnt
  5. DaddyBigBootz is gonna boot stomp everyone..
  6. i live on commerce lake in michigan and i was just wondering about something....someone told me that if a four wheeler fell through the ice it would not sink....only flip upside down and float by the tires. does anyone have any proof that this would actually happen my neighbor said he seen it happen once before on our lake any opinions?
  7. i love mine easy to use and perfectly synched carbs cant go wrong with that...
  8. the top end is the cylinders, the head and piston area the lower end is the crank and tranny
  9. first upgrade should be a nice powerband....i got a couple layin around the garage....pm me for pricing
  10. i had an air leak at the cylinder that made almost the same problem.... .02
  11. i picked up some torco octane booster from knights autoparts and that shit works great for me in my banshee it can raise it up like 5 points i mix a full pint in 5 gallons of gas..... .02
  12. im currently un-employed after graduation of high school i spent my grad money on my banshee and since every dollar i get goes to it. i work odd jobs for now but im going to school to be a motorcycle repair technician.....it all started when i bought my banshee......strait addicted..... trying to get jobs at a few dealerships ruond here...
  13. thanks for the help i think im gonna run some 50/50 for now untill it gets warmer than ill put some 22's in there.....unless i like the way it runs on race juice.
  14. its always a good idea if you dont want any leaks....ive gotten away with using the same gasket before but only in a pinch. just go get a new one the dealership should have one in stock and there like 5 bucks
  15. its like a knocking ping sound comming from the bottom of the cylinders its just as loud on both sides when i rev the engine it fades out and i cant hear it but cold or warm it does it
  16. if i adjust the timing i wont have to change anytiing else? what should i adjust it to? thanks for the help and also what exactly causes the engine ping im hearing?
  17. think i can get away with octane booster for now, i think im gonna go up a size in the domes because i dont want to run race fuel
  18. fresh top end dont want to blow it again..... i have a ping noise comming from the cylinder area clymers says it could be too low octane in the gas but i dont think thats it because it was runnin good awhile ago so im gonna check the air screw.... is that the only thing that adjusts the air? or is there different things to adjust for different speeds like the gas....anything else it could be? thanks for the help also the plugs look fine a little dark but no signs of running lean
  19. why would you ask that question on this site?
  20. hahaha i like the watch dog joke....i wanna name my dogs timex and rolex that wuold be funny as hell
  21. do your tires have tread on them, i couldnt do wheelies on dirt or grass with my old tires then when i switched to holeshot i couldnt keep the front down
  22. those ball joints make me nervous do they work good... how strong are they? how long have you had them for? and what kind of riding do you do?
  23. i spill gas on my PC'd frame all the time and it doesnt dull it.... ive never spilled brake fluid tho so i dont know bout that. plus PC is way more durable...i dropped my swingarm on cemtent and barely chipped it, if it were paint it would have been destroyed i wad amazed at the quality
  24. they make plugs that you can just stick in all the threaded holes on your frame, just little rubber plugs, also one tip of advice painting is a waste of time, my friend painted his frame and 3 rides later it looked just like it did before he painted it....spring for powdercoat i dropped my swingarm onto cement and barely knicked the corner up my .02 cents
  25. i powdercoated my top and bottom a-arms.....they came out fine....i was worried too but i got as much of the greese out as i could before i sent them out. when i got them back a couple were stuck but i knocked them lose cleaned them up regreased them and bam there brand new and sweet lookin.....
