  1. was just wondering if anybody knows anyone selling a 450, i talked my girlfriend into getting a quad to go riding with me, plus take alot of abuse off my banshee. anyways im in the market to get a yfz450 or maybe a raptor700. i will probably be riding it more than her but for the weekend trips she needs a ride. if anybody knows of someone selling one let me know or post some pics and ill get back to you.... i dont want to drive half way across the country or ship i would rather just pick it up or meet somewhere i live near pontiac michigan thanks
  2. i live in michigan and on my title it says in big bold print NOT TO BE REGISTERED FOR HIGHWAY USE. i looked into it and like said above, its because the rear axle doesnt have a differential and is therefor unsafe. i think it would be bad ass to be able to ride my banshee through the streets
  3. i dont race any ice tracks but i love riding on lakes. i live in michigan too and this winter has been shitty as hell my lake never froze the whole way across, i tryed riding on it anyways andmy rear end sunk in about 3 feet of water. i bought screws from the local motox store called ice cutters there pretty jagged and hook up really good i drilled about 1500 into my tires
  4. i got 27 id consider anybody that can do better than 30 seconds a jedi
  5. i know nothing of this pop up you speak of might as well bash your computer in....its ruined forever
  6. i know nothing of this pop up you speak of might as well bash your computer in....its ruined forever
  7. i think people just misunderstand it. this should be in the jetting section pinned unless it is already.... nice explanation
  8. i just bought the compression tester about a week ago, this was the first time i used it. yea i started it and rode it around and got it to operating temp then let it cool for a minute than checked it with WOT untill it stopped moving, yea its not a bad slapping noise really more just a consistant rattle or knock of some sort, it fades out when you rev the engine.
  9. i did a compression check after rebuilding and breaking in my shee and my cylinders are about 15 pounds off the left one is 170 and the right is 155 someone told me they can run fine with 10 pounds difference so im not too worried about it but what do you guys think...also when i start it it takes a sec for the left side to start firing also theres a noise i havnt noticed before comming from the bottom of the cylinders or intake area it sounds like a rattling or slapping noise like the reeds slapping open and close or something the plugs look perfect and it runs like a bat outta hell...let me know what you guys think ......im not to eager to tear it down again looking for awnsors
  10. sounds about rigt to me..im from michigan and i had my powdercoating done through some guy at my dads work that was starting a powdercoat business.. i ended up paying almost 1300 to have my frame, swingarm, a arms, hubs, dust covers, shifter, brake lever, pegs, cylinders, clutch cover, tie rods, swingarm carrier, sprocket, bumper and brake disk all sand blasted and PC basic black and red... he said the preperation was a bitch with all the threads he had to plug or tape off on the frame and he had to send the frame out to get sand blasted because his blaster couldnt fit it in there. cant wait to see some more pics
  11. hey savage, im not sure what your talking about with the stud mine is just a bolt that screws in and out, im just going to get a longer bolt that comes out the other side of the hole and put the nerf bar mount on that and hold it down with a nut. when i line my nerfs up tho, the front brackets stick out about a half inch on both sides from the outside of the motor mount? so i guess im just going to have to make spacers to fit in between the frame and the nerf mount to take the space?.. thats all i can think of to work
  12. i thought those were just bolts ? they dont come out when you loosen them? i havnt tryed putting them on yet i dont have the hardware to do it like you say but i will let you know when i try....
  13. i think i understand what you are saying but if you could take some pictures that would be awesome. basicaly your just saying i dont need new nuts/ bolts just put the nerf bar bracket on the inside of the frame right ? when i hold the nerf bars up on the bike it doesnt seem like it would fit on the inside like you say but i may be wrong....
  14. does anybody have nerf bars like these or that are installed like these using the engine mounts?
  15. i bought these nerf bars and was wondering about the installation, you replace your footpegs and the nerf bar slide on to them. are they also suppose to attach right to the engine mount? in the front? i didnt get any hardware with the nerfs. i dont see how else it would attach. should i just go buy a longer bolt and make it go all the way through the frame and attach the nerfs to the outside with a nut? heres some pics of what im talkin about the engine mounts bolt up from the inside if i bought a couple longer bolts it looks like they would come out far enough to put the front nerf bar mount on it and a lock nut to hold it on. does anybody have experience with this?
  16. mine are powdercoated... did you clean out the greese in the ball joint? i was worried about it and cleaned it as much as i could and taped off the area with high temp heat tape...they came out stuck in place but i knocked them lose and re-greased and there brand new....that sucks there scrap but now you got a reason to buy aftermarket ones...
  17. the best cure for a hangover is a beer and remember its not and addiction its a hobby , and alcohaulics go to meetings.
  18. thats what i would do to tear it all down clean it all up and slap it back together, but depending on your experience you might not want to go that route, you might want to go with a stock banshee and upgrade it how you see fit, you know ride it around when you get it and buy things that think you may need or want down the road. this way you see the difference it makes compared to stoclk and you get to take off the old part to see how the new part goes on and you might learn a little more... starting from scratch might cause a headache if you dont know how to do something or you might forget a part that you didnt know you needed either way get a clymers and it should work out in the end.... good luck with the build, welcome to the sight and dont forget the pics through out the build. theres alot of people that love to see pics of builds and finished products so snap plenty
  19. hell yea that would be sweet i would use one too, right now i got that pic of bigred's quad in the desert as my background (sweet pick bigred) can you make one in paint? i might try to do one...
