It was a lot of fun, very good turn out with a bunch of fast drag bikes that were neet to see. We didn't stay at the hill too long, and took advantage of the nice weather to get some mid-summer duning in. We darn near duned till 4:00 in the morning!!

Yes, Duneloon is a real person and a super great guy to do business with. He was the lucky gent who got the cub that the 3 of us paid for from Rsheepick. He is a super nice guy and i would recommend him to anyone to do business with. I have spoken with him numerous times and he is a super nice guy to talk to . Sorry, i had to chime in... He's been on planetsand for a while, he just joined 2 weeks ago becaused i finally convinced him to join the HQ! :thumb:

Yeah,i can agree with Jeff on the Podos racing swingarm, i bought one for my banshee and as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for". The swingarm is straight, but the welds aren't the greatest and the chrome is horrible. but for 350.00 shipped, i guess i can't complain too much. It does the job.

Yeah, i kind of figured it wouldn't be as perfect as what Tim described... but i am hoping for something along those lines. And yeah, there def, won't be those numbers on this bike for compression, but i do most of my riding around sea-level so hopefully that will help. I' am planning on taking it out next weekend to Glamis for the night drags and bringing my 35 and the 38 along to see the pro's and cons of each and then when the coming dune season comes around... i'll try out a set of duals... until then, i will keep you updated on the ride report. Keep in mind, i am transitioning over from a stock ported bike with fmf's to this current set-up so everything so far seems light years ahead of where i was.

But did it meet the qualifications as a good duner/dragger and not specific to the drag side of racing? I know it is limiting the potential of the motor, but i think he and I are not out for the fastest hill shooter...but rather a good combination of the two... where does this set-up fall as a duner... and those cpi's you speak of on your old set up i am very familiar with because I bought your old set (Again.. thanks for the pipes)

Well i just fought that same problem with mine as well. Mine was rich, where i think yours might be lean. If it runs better when the choke is on, that means it likes more fuel. Increase the pilot size until it will come off idle better and the mixture screw actually has significance. Maybe 52's??? By all means i am not a jetting expert, but i am just refrencing the pinned topics above this jetting forum. They were really helpful for me. Mine had the exact same bog, except mine didnt run any better with the choke on, it ran worse. I took it down a few sizes and now it runs perfect!

Yeah, the Glamis night drags in Mid August... there are something like 3 threads going on and on about the 2stroke vs 4stroke wars over in PlanetSand in the Glamis dune section.

I'll let ya know if it works on a 421 cub within the next few weeks, that is the same set up i am hoping for. A great duner/ partial dragger. The single 35 is on my bike now, but after talking to Tim at Cascade, he has preached to me the potential of this motor with a 38. From what he was telling me with his 4mil cub w/ a single 38 and pt's on his bike, he was suprising quite a few cubs set up with duals and drag pipes. but again... i'll put in my "official" ride test after the night drags later in August.

August night drags. So who all is coming out to the drags. I just got my 4mil cub put together and am anxious to try it out. I guess a night of 105 degree weather wont keep me away from trying out the new motor. Is anyone from this site headed out there?

And Gary just helped me build my 4mil cub! Heck of a nice guy. I can attest to the 10mil stroker and what he puts those paddles through. That man can ride. Most people would think a 10mil would be a dragger, but he dunes the heck out of his and is probably one of the fastest riders i have ever attempted to follow. The guy handles a +6 swingarm as if it was stock length! Sorry had to chime in, He just helped me out in a very big way and i wanted to give the man some props!

I agree with Rippen, i have a turbo charged "pull through" set up on my small block chevy in my rock crawler/Dune buggy contraption that works flawlesly. The power is there on top when ever ya need it at the dunes, and is a regular 8-1 compression pump gas running motor when i am out farting around. Perfect combination in my opinion. I love turbo's! i have less than 2500 bucks in my whole engine and turbo set up and all of the hp i could ever want :beer:

I went down to a 48, and it helped out a lot. It idles now and comes of idle much smoother. i still have some fine tuning to do with the carb but we are on the right track. Thanks for your help

Just as the topic says

OK... so i just got done building my 421 cub which has cpi pipes and single 35pwk at 700ft elevation ... yes a single carb. :baseball_shocked: ..( yes i know it is starving it on the top end, but thats not where the problem is right now.. its on the bottom end) but i am having some trouble jetting it so it will idle and run good right off idle... i know this is related to the pilot jet which i have tried a 50 a 60 and a 58. but the darn thing will just not idle, or come off idle smoothly... everywhere else is perfect. I tried moving the clip around on the needle, and so far it runs best at the top notch (needle moved down) but i cant figure out for the life of me which way i need to go with the pilot. It just seems like it is bogging and gasping for either air or fuel..(it makes that hallow echoing sound before it cleans out) No matter where i put the mixture screw or the idle air screw.. it has little effect.. (meaning the pilot is not right... I think :ermm: ?????)but which way should i go? up or down? Thanks in advance for your help!

To the TOP! OK.. the Pipes and the Swingarm are SOLD Somebody has to have a trinity head in need of some domes, these are of no use to me any more, shoot me an offer. The same goes for the jugs... what are these worth? Somebody has to be in need of a good set to port with?

Exactly as the title says, I sold my swingarm and am in need of a +4 or +6 roundhouse style swingarm. I already have the carrier and backing plate. Please let me know what you have available or a good place to buy one. thanks in advance Kolby
