  1. Well, I still haven't had a chance to tear into the carbs but I did check the squish and both cylnders are at .039... so that can't be the problem... I will check the pilot this week and let ya know... but being the fact it has done it with all 3 carb set-ups on it, I am thinking its a lack of compression, but I will check and let ya know the gas was brand new pump gas 91 octane
  2. Well, its been a hectic week, so I haven't had a chance to tear into it yet to check the squish, but am planning on it on Sunday when I get back in town. I honestly can't remember what the pilot jet size is off the top of my head, but the needle is on the second up from the bottom and the main is a 160, the idle air screws were about 1 and half turns out.. but I was talking to Jefro over at FAST and he was wondering something to... I have had an issue the past 4 or 5 trips with atleast one spark plug working itself out of the head..and coming completely out... it happens atleast once a dune trip... I am definately going to check the squish, but the guy that helped me build said it was at .40... but who knows I'll double check and let ya know.. any ideas on what you think the spark plug issue might be?
  3. OK... I have a 421 cub with 145psi in each cylnder (21cc) domes. I just installed SoCallinit's 36mm airstrykers on my bike and it will not launch in 2nd for the life of me. (1st gear is just fine) Bansheeman and Polish have both ridden the bike and know exactly what I am talking about. I have had the single carb set up on it with both a 35mm and 38mm and now the duals but it will not launch in second with any of the set-ups. It has the stock gearing (14-41) and 8paddle haulers. I had it dyno tuned in the Glamis flats so I am sure the jetting is spot on. But something just isn't right with the bike. It runs perfect otherwise, (doesn't bog, or miss) but it just doesn't have enough gut power to launch in second that I would think a cub would have. Could this be because of the domes and not running that much of compression or timing (+4) with a cub??? And I am guessing something else might be wrong because it only dyno'd 75hp... but there are no other signs of it running bad, in fact I think it makes a perfect pump gas running dune bike! I just keep losing races because the darn thing won't launch in second! I mean correct me if I am wrong but most cubs are making that kind of power with stock carbs and Toomy's. I have 36mm AirStrykers and a set of Cpi's.. Any ideas?

  5. Bumpty Bump... Just want to add how good of a combination bike this is. This bike can dune with the best of em and still kick ass in a drag race( trust me on that one, seen the roost on this thing up close :biggrin: ). It is a strong running bike and good looking. Its a great bike and you wont be dissapointed. Plus.. he is a stand up guy and would be a pleasure to do business with.
  6. Just for those of you who haven't already herd or that don't know about the Customer Service Level he provides , I was in dire need for an odd-ball part he didn't have in stock. I needed this part to make a ride over this weekend and was out of options. Jeff took the part off one of his own personal bikes around the shop and sent it to me. That my friends... along with his super nice personality and his fast shipping is why I will continue to do business with this man and encourage anyone else to do the same! He owns a great shop! Yeah, I can agree with the quality issues, First my 200watt stator started crapping out on me on top, so I replaced it with a stocker, well I shorted out the stocker (my fault) so i bought another 200watt one from one of the Glamis vendors, well did the same thing, crapped out on top, so I immediately took that one back and got the Ricky Stator stock wattage, well mine did the same thing BigRed's did, the pick-up was out of adjustment and when i went to adjust it, the screws rounded off! :: So the story goes, I i drilled it out and used my own bolts, well 2 trips later, the Ricky Stator stock voltage one went out, ( I had an earlier post about it) And i went back to an O.E one and now its working great!

  11. OK... and I just went back out there 10minutes later and it wont start again... I lost spark AGAIN!!! Pulled of the stator cover and everything looks ok.. pickup is in check.. sometimes it wants to work, and sometimes it doesn't Please help!
  12. OK, so the story goes... the bike was running perfect last weekend and all of a sudden I lost everything. Bike went completely dead and lost spark. So it was dark and I didn't want to mess with it at the hill, I just wanted to get towed back to camp, well on my free ride back to camp(attached to a stap) i decided to pop the clutch to see if anything happens... well it started and ran perfectly again.. i was thinking whatever it is.. it fixed itself... well. so I duned it around for another 20 min or so and i shut it off... well... when it came time to go for another ride.. the darn thing wouldn't start again... we triesd pull starting it again.. and got nothing.... I brought it back home.. checked out the wiring and found that the black and yellow wire going into the CDI box had melted together ad shorted one another out. Well I re-wired those wires thinking that "that" was the problem... well, still wouldn't run and still didn't have any spark... so my mind starts thinking ok... well i shorted out the CDI box or something along those lines... well... i go out 2 days later to get the pn number of the CDI box and for shits and giggles, i decide to "attempt" to start the darn thing... and wouldn't ya know it started 1st kick!!!.. OK so now my question... is there some form of a circuit breaker in the wiring system that was taking a while to reset? Or why all of a sudden would it be "ok" when just 2 days prior, i couln't get any spark? Could something be going wrong inside the box that will allow it to work perfectly sometimes, or completely shut off at others?? I found where the short was as mentioned earlier, but I don't want to lug the bike out to the dunes this weekend, only to have it die on me again. Please help with any knowledge you might have and thanks in advance Kolby

Brett is a certified redneck, :yelrotflmao: but he got the bike to atleast survive one run... i finally got them 10paddles on the bike am ready to go... i almost have the jeep ready for the dunes... we are headed down for the whole week... let me know if ya wanna camp with us
  15. No way... I rode that same bike with the cheetah cub.. Man.. that bike gets around...( OK, so it was mine that scared everyone away from the single carb) OK... so here is the whole thing with the bike with the single carb on the cub.... YES.. it will work and it will be quick compared to what you are used to, but no where near what it could be...PLAIN AND SIMPLE ohh Banshee-man and Polish, the whole reason it wouldn't start off line when ya dumped the clutch was the darn pick-up for the magneto. Our getto rig job to get us through the weekend wasn't alowing for the proper gap for the pickup... oh well.. it got us by.... I replaced the timing plate (again) last week and went out for a ride with the gap where it was supposed to be and it helped out A LOT!! it was night and day difference from that sunday... the damn thing set my ass on the ground....literally...It WILL actually launch now!... but back to the whole single carb deal....Don't ever buy a single carb oncce you have the cub, but if you are running one now and can't afford to upgrade to duals.. it will get you by.
  16. I have a set of 20-10-10 8 paddle Sandshark straight paddle tires. This is just the tires, not the rims, they are brand new, never been used, they came with my bike when i bought them and would let them go for $75 shipped ( inside the US). I was thinking i was going to use them, but they arn't enough bite for my set up. Let me know if your interested

  19. I have a 2-1 carb set-up for sale with a 35mm carb. This kit comes complete with the carb, K&N Filter, outwear, cable, Intake adapter, bolts, hardware and intake boot.   21. I was told the roll out on the 21-21-8's are somewhere in between 65-68 . And i am not sure on the 20-10-10's.
  22. Like the title says, I am looking into buying a set of 20-10-10 (10 paddle) haluers for the general all around dune performance for my bike. I do a alot of duning as well as a fair amount of dragging. Would i really gain that much more straight line performance with the 21-12-8's over the 20's. I already know the 21's wont turn as well, i am just wondering how much of a difference it would make dragging wise. What do you guys think? This is more or less a good combo bike between dragging and duning. My Mods are in my sig Thanks in advance
