whats the big deal if you like them buy them, if you dont like them dont buy them. seems like a pretty easy thing to understand.
-
i got one on my yfz450 and its been perfect.
-
i just ordered a custom big bore pipe for my yfz that will be centermounted , with the battery gone and a kickstarter on its going to be setup as a topend pipe.
-
dont feel to bad i get plenty of shit for running yfz450 plastic on a banshee.
-
then buy black pipes , chrome is a waste as well.
-
why dont somebody by the rights and make them.
-
but do grr make in frames i can buy since i cant buy the rockets .
-
anybody have any pics of grr in frame exhaust, just wondering how close they look like the rockets.
-
wow, all i wanted to do is show people my idea and how it was coming along. and the title how to take the ugly out of a banshee was meant to be a joke, if i get done with this and dont like it i will make the other banshee setup on fullbore banshee plastic. just wanted to try this out since the 87 was pretty messed up and i had a decent set of plastic after swapping out the plastic on my yfz.
-
its different becuase of its motor, and is the reason peaple buy it. otherwise they would buy a 250r. you bought your banshee because of its plastic and looks if so your a real fuckhead.
-
the banshee has a following not becuase of its looks, but its the motor. and the stem mount is stronger than stock with many more gussets and the old stem mount was already damaged. you do have a right to not like it and thats cool i will finish it and decide if i screwed up or made a good decision. and i may regret it, but its just a quad and i enjoy messing with things. i bet you like harleys converted to choppers as everybody does and im sure. and at some point some stubborn bastards said it sucks and its going to fall apart but look how much harleys have been altered from the factory but are now very much accepted all because somebody said i dont give a fuck what everybody thinks im going to try this. and yamaha back in 86 went against the grain and released the only twin cylinder 2 stroke, compared to everyone elses 250 single cylinder 2 stroke. but somehow the banshee sure grew on everyone. the fullbore plastic is a change from stock but now is also acceppted and it looks killer.
-
atleast underneath its all banshee still.
-
not really ugly, just very dated 80,s looking. i just like the looks better of the yfz but i love the banshee power and sound.
-
i got a 98 to.
-
i got some of your moms midol when i left her house last night, i will try that and im sure everyone has seen some ugly banshees and some nice banshees and its all up to the owner, and when its done it look similer to this with a +3 swinger and orange. i dont think thats to bad and heres another idea i put together that seemed to turn out pretty good and was all built by me in my garage just trying to learn how to fab stuff, and the blue one does very well at the duned for just having a milled head, a pipe and open filter. and i wasnt showing this to everone to show that im the best at everthing just trying to do somthing my self and to try and get a little better everytime. lets see your quad and all its glory and what mods you think are ok to do, mr 370banshee.

i didnt say yamaha didnt know what they were doing, i said the mount on this bike had been bent and broken repaired like shit and needed to be redone anyway. try reading and i geuss i should rethink about posting my project on here. i wasnt trying to start shit just show people what i was doing, sorry its not a bud light sticker kit or that im installing some cpi,s or just some chrome i guess all you haters can show me how to install that sticker kit or throw on those pipes, after all thats where the talent is. and yamaha did build all those streched out drag chassis and no front brakes didnt they, but i guess thats ok because it still has stock plastic. and as much as i love all the drag banshees there far from stock. anyway thanks again for those kind words.
-
nope the 98 looks brand new and if this one turns out good i will be happy to pull out the sawzall and grinder and get started and smash the silly bug eye headlights and throw on some trailtechs.
-
for one a tecate may be different but i dont like them i like how the banshees run, and wouldnt choose 400ex because i dont care for the looks, but i do like how the yfz looks and this way it remains yamaha. and about the steering stem mount, as i said earlier it was all fucked up and sombody had tried to reweld it and did a very poor job and with what i got on here now it fixes that problem and looks to be alot stronger than stock and also ties into the yfz tank mount.and im not mad about negative comments. im just explaining what i did and why it made sence to me.
-
the stem mount is full chromoly and has more gussets than factory and i have already leand it on its side and with it hitting the bars and the wheels it dont hit the tank area at all and its getting a custom bumper to protect the nose. man alot of you have a bad attitude about things you know nothing about, and to everybody that trys to think about it for a second and understand how it might work rather than just say its ugly, thanks. and if this one works out the way i think it will, i will do it to my 98. this one here is my brothers 87 he bought for 300.00 that was completley trashed and needed the motor rebuilt and the plastic was trashed and best of all the qaud had been rolled and the steering stem mount had been bent and broken had very shitty repair job on it, so i didnt see the harm on trying somthing new on a already fucked up banshee. sorry i had to give you the full story just so some people could understand the logics here.

and there will be a grill there as soon as i have a custom cut qaudtech hood with a grille and a custom fabbed up aluminum bumper to fit the frame and follow the lines of the new body and lay in front of the bottom of the radiator, and as far as pipes go bigbore cpi,s fit fine. with new laker plastic it has removable shrouds and they wont be used. this stock plastic is just being used as a mock up. and the rave reviews your talking about are people that come to my buddys shop mostly and can see it in person and understand how its going to be setup when its done. and remember its still a banshee and will get custom banshee graphics on it.
-
as for cooling the radiator is still in the same place, so i dont know how its going to overheat, and if you love the banshee engineers then leave it all stock and tell all the aftermarket to stop making all these nice parts we love to improve are banshees with. i dont think installing yfz plastic on it is going to make it a better qaud, just different. so chill out and let me finish it and we will see how it looks and how it dont overheat.
-
yah banshees are made only for function thats why half of them are chromed out and have custom paint jobs, tell you what i will keep trying to be a little different and i have had people say more good things than bad, and anybody talking shit are more than likley the people running boost bottles and to them i will tell them to just kiss my ass and we will have fun on our somewhat different banshees.
-
yamaha put even more effort and did it since 87 to make it very ugly, so im doing pretty good.
