  1. Elkas for $450. plus a rebuild for $395. We knock off $50. from the rebuild when you purchase fronts. Suspension all around for $800. $100. more for TCS. Ask atvsuspensiontech to send Lee a little sponsor money to help support the guy/site that brought you all together. Shane
  2. The benefits of good suspension are numerous. Good suspension can save your arse in bad situations, it can improve your drag times by keeping the power planted, it can save your body from getting beat up from a rough ride and so on.................. To get your bike suspended all the way around your looking at spend about $850. for a none rezzie Elka and a rear rebuild and the cost goes up from there. If you need any help or have any questions get in contact with us. Shane (219)313-1424 www.wolfpackracing.com
  3. Be sure to back the tension all the way off of the spring. If you run into any problems you can send the shock to us and we'll remove it (Free of charge). We are just over the Michigan border so it is only a one day return via UPS. Shane
  4. So, Is it what your saying that a larger shaft makes a shock perform better? Or, are you saying it is better because it can take more abuse? Not all rebuilds are equal! Some rebuild are done by just changing out the shims and not the valve itself. Oil is a big factor as well. A full synthetic will resist heat much better but is very expensive. Lets not forget the cost factor. A new aftermarket shock will set you back about $800. compared to $395. for a complete rebuild. Shane www.wolfpackracing.com A bigger rezzie can be added on remote shocks. We use a bladder rezzie from a 250R and it seems to be a bit smoother. We have added remotes to the stock piggyback shock as well but it isn't cost effective. Shane
  5. Although I wouldn't recommend it, you could get away with installing a new spring. The shock will not perform well but the spring will keep it from bottoming out. A total rebuild is you best option. We do them for $395. which includes new spring, new valve and dune valving. If you need any help let us know! Thanks to all those that have recommended us! 6. I have a new rear chain slider for sale $25. shipped. It's been around the shop for quite awhile and it really needs a new home.
  7. You are also putting an incredible amount of pressure on the front wheel bearings and the front end is going to push heavily when turning. Shane

    Anytime friend!

(Yes, it is complete with everything) LSR (chrome) rec. arms $650. Laegers +2 dune arms $565. Leagers swingarm is $985. (complete with everything needed and in any length) Rear shock rebuild $395. TCS front shocks (compression adjustable) $875. ELKA (non-res dune edition) $450. We'll pick up the shipping on anything you order. Shane www.wolfpackracing.com 219.313.1424
  10. Surf, Don't mind those guys, they are usually rude to anyone that is new. Your rims are probably 10" up front and 9" rear. I'd suggest running the Kenda Klaw on your bike because the Holeshot will be gone in half a race. You'll want the 20" front and and 18" rear. The first thing you'll want after that is a arms and suspension. If you need any more help let me know. Shane www.wolfpackracing.com

    shane?

In the suspension business it seems the more you know the less you know. I personally have a bunch of questions for Works but in the end I believe they are focused on bring an affordable shock to market. So, here is what I think. The top set up will not work on the bottom because the bottom moves more and it won't be able to hold up. It needs that reinforcement. It would probably be alright for a short time and you seem to stay on top of your maintainence more than others. I've seen quite a few of the Works bottom eyelets rounded out due to the owner not staying on top of maintainence. We should be able to get these parts for you. 12. This is almost true. They lower the mount in the arm is actually more accurate. The biggest benefit of LT is shock fade. They carry more oil and therefore resist overheating and thus shock fade. I personally do not care for LT. Shane
  13. WARNING ABOUT AMERICAN STAR! We used to sell thier product but dropped them because we had to many problems getting stuff warrantied. It wasn't that they wouldn't stand behind thier stuff, it was that they would either claim to have not received the broke stuff or they would sent the wrong replacement parts. Pretty much everyone in Dirt Wheels used to carry thier stuff and now just the guy out of Vegas does. Shane wolfpackracing.com

    Custom Axis

We do a rear rebuild for $385. It can be dual rate or single depending on your riding style. The oil issue that some are talking about will be the same no matter what shock you go with. The best oil is $30. a liter so most builders don't use it unless it is requested. The top builders from Axis that left are now at Ohlins USA. Here is a review of our shock by an HQ member: "I gotta say this shock is badass!! I have tried three different shocks..stock, axis, and the stock one that Shane built. Of course everyone knows pretty well what a stock shock performs like. I also tried an Axis custom shock, not 100% set up for me though. That was a huge improvement over stock. Then i was able to try Shane's shock. What a difference!! I dont know exactly what he does to the inside of the shock, but it must be some kind of magic!! The Axis shock would be pretty unpredictable through some tight deep whoops. Bounce up one way kick the other, it was not easy to stay on the gas. When I put Shanes shock on, it was a much needed improvement. It let me open the throttle up for most of the time going through the whoops. Granted it was still a rough ride, but much more predictable, a quite a bit smoother, and a pleasure to ride!!" We are a dealer for TCS, Elka, Ohlins, Houser, Laegers, Lonestar, RAD and AC. 15. A quick and cheap fix to your problem (although not ideal) is a new spring kit for your works shocks. We sell them for $250. and the springs are red and black to match your bike a little better. We are a TCS, Elka, Works and Ohlins dealer. If we can help you out on a new set of shock let us know. Shane
  16. Why go diectly through Elka if you can save money? When we sell a set of Elka shocks we immediately call the order in and have it drop shipped to the customer. It doesn't take any longer through us than it does going direct and Elka doesn't give discounts.
  17. Nobody has really gone crazy over these shocks. I haven't riden them nor know anyone who has. If they use the say conventional valve that is in thier other shocks then stay away from them. TCS or ELKA would be a much better choice.

    lug nuts

All sport quads used the same 10mm lug just some are tapered and some are flat. Most aftermarket wheels use the flat design so your stock lugs will work or you can get Chrome for about $1.25 each.

    rear shock sag

Is there any sign of oil on the shock shaft? I'd venture to guess that your shock is blown out. We can repair it if the shaft is still in good condition. If you need any help just ask. Shane
  20. Dillon, I don't use the ELKA conversion anymore. The reason being is that we have a kit that is a ton better for only $100. more. The difference in performance in not comparable. The spring kit for the YFZ shock will be $250. and rear rebuild $385. We figure revalving of the front to be around $100. to $150. Depending on our work load (We are currently slammed) we will give special pricing if you do all three at the same time. PM me for a quote. Shane
  21. Revalving would be best. And, yes we will have a spring rate for you. We are just waiting on the manufacturer. The spring kit is $250. We aren't quite sure yet what the valving will run but most probably around $100. to $150.
  22. Just want to give everyone a heads up on whats to come. We are having springs made to convert the YFZ front shock to Triple rate. The cost will be around $250. We do have valving for the Dune riders as well as the MX'ers and CC'ers. I'll give you an update as soon as i know something more. Shane
  23. Works would be my last choice for sure! What I'd like to do for you guys is get a side-by-side picture of the Works valve and conventional valves. The Works systen is better than stock because of the spring rate. The valve is a machined aluminum piece and uses a small spring and ball to control the oil flow. A conventional valve uses shims stacked together to produce the best fine tuning. These shims cost about $1. each and a normal valving can use 40 or more of them. Because Works doesn't use shims they can sell thier shocks cheaper. ELKA makes a great shock no doubt. They use the conventional system but add a check valve. I'm not really sold on this set-up yet but a great shock regardless. I personally prefer the TCS shock because I think Todd has better valving and his shocks are a little cheaper than the Elka. I would buy new TCS fronts (our price $795.) and have the rear converted (our price $385.) to dual rate. Free shipping on a package deal. Shane
