New Hiper wheel out in late April
Whitey replied to Hollister_Hitman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Whats the price going to be? -
A new bike would be nice but don't call it a Banshee.
-
Work out something for an 04' Shee'?
-
I'm the opposite, I have 3 friends that said they would never buy a set of Alpinestarts again. The one pair broke a strap on the first ride.
-
I have a CMM with a 42
-
A Banshee motor is way too noisely to use a knock sensor on IMO. And plus they are kinda like snake oil, they never really function like they should. The timing will get figured out I just haven't looked into it that much, since there was so much other shit I had to do first that took forever. :: Did he ever get it to run right? You have any more details on his setup?
-
Well hopefully with the fuel injection it won't be as finiky (at least that was the plan) the ECU does have the ability to control timing, its just another project onto itself. I would like to get rid of the CDI all together.
-
Its going pretty good. The fuel injection is running pretty good which was the main hurdle. I'm still trying to work out all the bugs before I put the turbo on. Right now I'm worried about knock becuase I don't have control of timing (besides a timing plate) so I was thinking it might be good to start with alky right from the beginning.
-
I should have been more specific, Here's the current fuel setup: The only thing I would need to change to go to alky would be injectors and the filter, so its not that big of a pain in the ass. I eventually want to turn it into a strickly drag bike but it would still be fun to fuck around on before I start changing the suspension around. This is going to be a boosted motor so switching to alky seemed to be the best way to prevent the motor from blowing apart. And even if I use twice the amount at $2.50ish a gallon, its still cheaper than the almost $12.00 a gallon for C16 which I would have to run. And even with C16 I won't be able to run as much boost compared to alchohol. I was just seeing if it would be possible to take it out for some hillclimbs before it becomes a strictly asphalt drag bike.
-
I'm thinking of switching my bike over to alchohol, and I don't have too much experience with the stuff. For those who are running alky: -how many hours of riding can you get out of a tank? -How much are you paying for a gallon? -Is it a big pain in the ass to purge the system? I'm going to use the bike for riding trails and hillclimbing. I'm just worried about how long I can ride on a tank. Anyone has any input?

Just run outframes :yelrotflmao:
-
Well wouldn't you? I guess they finally realized that PS was nothing special and there would be plenty of other places ready to take over as top forum. Its alot smarter to just sell the whole forum and actually make money instead of just killing it slowly.
-
Now if Lee was smart he'd get rid of those new general forums that nobody uses and replace them with some of the popular forum topics from planet Sand, Make a Planet sand subforum. Than this site would explode.
-
Shit, I was just going to buy it as a reminder of why not to get married :yelrotflmao:
-
Holy shit I would buy that if it wasn't $70.00
-
PS did have good information like frame design and technical info that bansheeHQ lacks and thats what I'll miss. However, its the people who visit a forum that makes or breaks it. If your making people pay alot of money, well than the people who provided all the good information (the reason you went in the first place) won't be there anymore. So now your paying lots of money for a website that now has very limited information and won't be the same as it was before becuase its no longer a free sharing of ideas. Whenever a huge forum turns into a pay site like what planet sand did all the people will leave, some will stay but the forum will eventually die and another will take its place.

Small world, we probably live close to each other. I'm from Boyertown, live near the interection of 663 and 73. I ride up near Centrilia / MT. Carmel / Pottsville

Did you ever get pics?
-
Eh, I'm not a big fan of having tons of forums and all the micromanagement. Threads don't get as many views and the people who might know the answer won't see the thread becuase they don't visit that forum, people double post to get views, ect.

Do you have any pics of this setup? Also how did you do the oiling system for the turbo? What HP level were you shooting for? I picked the RHB5 becuase I was going for right around 80 to 100HP. If breatheability through the turbine is such an issue than I might just run an external 38mm wastegate prioritize the exhaust gas towards the wastegate. For the hrsepower I'm going for it would be really inefficient to run a t3/t4. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Also I'm running also running a dynoport 2-1 exhaust. Did you try and run a 2-1 pipe and what were the results with that? Some pics of this setup would really answer alot of questions.
-
Ok I have some questions for you: -For the GT3071r did you run the .64 or the .86 turbine housing? -What did you do to oil the turbo? -Do you have any pics of that setup? -Which pipe did you use? Sorry for all the questions but I've been trying to turbo my Banshee for a while now and I was shocked to see you used a GT30. I was going to use a smaller IHI RHB5 but I do have a T3/T04E with a .63 turbine that I could try. The only problem is I'd have to run an external gate. Also I ride in lots of different elevations so I'm also running fuel injection: You opened a can of worms when you asked if anyone had questions

Do Pro Design Intake Spacers work with VF3's?
Whitey replied to Whitey's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Nice. Thats what I wanted to hear. -
So can I still use my Pro Design Intakes if I get VF3 reeds?

Lol the war on terrorism is about as vauge and logical as the war on drugs.
