i'm in the middle of putting my engine back togeather and i'm not sure what way the seal on the fly wheel side of the crank goes in it's not a yamaha seal so there is no green marking to tell me what side is what. the one side has a fatter lip with letters and numbers on it and little ridges in the center. The other side has a thinner lip with no letters or numbers on it but the center is smooth with the bearing info on it if any one can help me with this i need to know what way it goes in plz help me.

should i use the RTV on both sides of the base gasket or just on the top or bottom and should i use the honda bond i heard that it was better plus there is only a honda dealer in my town. Canada sucks for getting parts and shit
thanks chronicwatson
i did the test with 6 pounds of air and i sprayed the whole motor with soapy water and there where vary small bubbles comein out of the base gaskets. what should i use to seal the case's is flange sealent good?
i just put my new top end together and when i was done i did a leak test and it failed so what i want to know if it will be ok to put some flange sealent or rtv on the gaskets i don't want to have to buy 3 set's of top end gaskets so if this will help stop the leaks that would be great oh ya they where a metal/paper type any way thanks for any tips thanks
so i did a pressure test and it failed it but not from the seal from the base gaskets and the reid gaskets any way i think i'm going to buy another new topend kit and just replace all of them again i just want to know if i should put some flange sealent on the base gaskets and reid gaskets any way thanks for the help guys...

i think i put my fly wheel side crank seal in backwards what would be the outcome of running it like this will it cause a leak/ lean condition. is it possible to take it all apart aka top end and bottom end and flip the seal and put it all back together or do i just need a new top end gasket kit any way any tips would be great thanks.
i need to know what parts i will need to put my bottom end back together is there more then just a seal kit or what i need a parts list?
