  1. You could drill a hole down the center of it and try using an easy out before you pull the whole clutch cover off.
  2. yes, yes and oops. upon closer inspection the slides are backwards. Thats how they were stored for 2 years, didn't think they would have been mixed up. Its been 2 years since ive used the stockers. Then I had fmfs, power reeds and a toomey 2into1. With 290 mains, 30 pilots, clip in the leanest position. Now its the fmfs, stock rz reeds and cut apart airbox. Now I'll see how it runs with the 260 mains.
  3. I found some 260s and put them in. Doesn't seem much better. Boggy, loaded up and smokey. I checked the clip its at the top the leanest position. The float level is correct. I'll keep trouble shooting. Funny thing is the 28mm pwks off my rz banshee work perfect with both bikes. Takes one loose kick to start up and throttle response is real peppy. The rz has the power reeds, thats the only difference.
  4. Ok mods are fmf fattys and no air box lid. The reeds and cages are off an rz350(used to have boyesen power reeds). The carbs have 290 mains in them right now. The reed change obviously made it to rich. Im at sea level, 40:1 mix. I not sure what size mains to swap in. Any suggestions?
  5. I agree its not just the epa clamping down on 2 strokes. Ive been around alot of dealers lately and they all say demand for 2 strokes is going down pretty quick. I was mainly asking about bikes though, because I'm thinking on trading up to a 450, can't keep up with my 450 buddys on my cr250. As far as banshees a few dealers didn't even have one on the lot.
  6. Fiberglass. Not as flexible as plastic. If you roll your quad alot then be concerned.
  7. I've been thinking of making one as a CNC project using pro-design domes. I'm assuming the rz and banshees have the same dome structure though.
  8. Looks cool but the down side is extra weight and body roll will become an issue.
  9. Got the frames back the other day and started the assembly line. Still waiting on getting some parts back.
  10. Gave both my banshees to my buddy to get powdercoated and plated.
  11. My rz banshee is a pile of parts right now but I found the control motor and don't see a brown wire. What year rz are your electronics off of? Mines an 85 I think the 84 is slightly differen't, I could be wrong though.
  12. Ive only put one trip on mine thus far. Fit nice and tight on the splines. They don't look as good as the lonestar but they will last longer.
  13. This might be an isolated insodent but I bought some regular daul rate steelers, after a few months the shafts rusted. I only got to use them on 3 trips. Didn't want to spend over $300 I was quoted to fix and respring(for longer arms) so I bought some yfz shocks. Again shafts rusting probably isn't a very common problem.
  14. It was $55. Saved alot of time and frustration.
  15. The frame cost less than $200 in materials but hours in work.
  16. around 2k maybe. haven't kept track.
  17. I learn by doing. I built it all in my garage. Also have machine shop lab hours over at orange coast college.
  18. Rear shock mount done.
  19. 90% done, just need to machine some pieces for the shock mount. Bought a TCS no link shock off ebay.
  20. I'm almost done with the rear. Had all the plate waterjet cut. Machined the big tube for the LSR LT500 roundhouse carrier and the front pivot tube at the frame. All 6061 aluminum.
  21. Its actually a little stiff with the elkas.
  22. I agree there is a need for immigrant workers for certain jobs. But I don't agree that the majority of the people to work them should be from Mexico and central america. Theres alot of people around the world that would work here if there was a guest worker program. People from down south have an unfair advantage. Not all illegals settle with the job at burger king either. Legitimate licenced Contractors, plumbers, electricians etc, jobs get underminned also because illegals charge below the market rate.
  23. another
  24. Finally fixed my geometry errors for the front end. It can cycle almost 17in of wheel travel now with the correct kingpin angle set. In order to utilize the travel I would have to re-mount the shocks and probably re-valve and spring it$$$. Maybe later, it works pretty dam good with 12in of travel right now.
  25. Ive got a no link shock that was on a 250r with a stock length swingarm. Im fabbing up a swingarm for my banshee to use this shock. Dont know anyone with a 250r to get any measurements.
