  1. I may get laughed at for this but, when you say "paint it" , do you make it all black, or do you do different colors when you do the rebuild?
  2. Those used to be the Sh*t back in the day. When I had my 98 Shee I had that setup w/ a Motofast 2-1 Pipe. If any of you are familiar w/ Gncc racer Kim Kuhnle, he used to have that setup on his Shee back in the day.
  3. I had this the first day I bough the banshee. I think some of it has to do w/ the oil and the type of riding. Sometimes the carb just gets backed up and you need to run the hell out of it to get the fuel flowing well. Always seemed to work for me. Running heavy on the oil could also hurt you here.
  4. Unfortunatly I have to agree. The YFZ is faster but the banshee is more fun. My buddy smoked me w/ his YFZ w/ just a Pipe. I have an 05 w/ a 2-1 pipe, spacers, carbon reeds, and an Air filter. We switched bikes to make sure it wasn't rider, and got same result. Banshee 4 life though.
  5. My 7th grade Science teacher used to have this method. If he heard you doing it, he would take you out in the hallway and look you dead in the eyes and say Hiccup. No one could ever do it on the spot. Seemed to work.
  6. I'm considering a Denton Stabilizer, anyone got any +'s or -'s on them?
  7. I have an 05 w/ a Dyno Port 2-1 pipe, Filter Kit, Spacers and Carbon fiber reeds. I want to get a bigger set of carbs. I do some Harescrambles and trail riding. My main concern is getting some better performance w/o being a major gas hog. You guys think a set of 28mm's would do the trick?
  8. Unless that guy on the 250f can't ride at all, you will just spin all day in the grass while his lighter and Torque monster just flys away. I rode one of the new RMZ250, let me tell you, Bad A$$.
  9. Lost Creek is based out of PA. You may recognize the names Jason Dunkleburger and Pat Brown. They race for Lost Creek Cycle. It is similar to East CoastATV.
  10. I must say, the YFZ is bad ass. My buddy and I raced, he has an 05 YFZ w/ just a filter kit and a FMF pipe. I have an 05 Shee w/ Spacers, Filter Kit, Dynoport pipe. That YFZ smoked the Banshee. We switched bikes, YFZ still smoked it. We didn't get enough space to get the quads fully pinged but when I was slowing down on the YFZ I was atleast 2 bike lengths ahead. As for the Raptor, always were, always will be junk.
  11. After having an 89 Mint 250r and an 05 Banshee, I found the 89r to throw me back more then my banshee. The R is just plain and simply awesome. Don't get me wrong, I love my banshee, but if I didn't get into $ issues, I'd still have my R.
  12. Dumonde-Tech
  13. I have a Dyno Port 2-1 Pipe, Open Air box, Spacers, and carbon fiber reeds and run 240mains. Plugs look fine. I only do 12oz oil to 5gal.
  14. If 250r's were easy to find in mint condition, I would have one instead of the Shee. GO FOR THE R!
  15. That definatley deserves a royal ass beating, but I'll give it to the kid. It takes a set to say some ignorant stuff like that and go home w/o body guards.
  16. one of my good friends has a pass to the Yamaha 06 preview in Vegas. After talking w/ Bill Balance, the YFZ WILL be Totally different. You should see pics up w/ in a few weeks.
  17. I had a Dyno Port on my Stock banshee until today, when I put on a Pro Flow filter and a set of reeds and spacers. It didn't have the Top end that your Toomys, Pro Circuts, Etc... will have, but it gives a good bit of low end. W/ a set of ITP XC 20" tires, Carbon Tech reeds, and a filter, that bike rips.
  18. I currently own an 05 Banshee, I sold my Mint 89 250r a few months back, I can tell you first hand that my 250r w/ just a LRD Pipe will smoke my Banshee w/ a Dynoport pipe. That thing was ripping fast. The bottom end crushed the banshees into the ground even w/ the 2-1 pipe. If I were you I would buy this bike and not look back. If I wasn't tempted w/ such a good offer I would have never gotten a banshee. I love my Yami but plain and simple the 250r Dominates when it comes to Trails and MX.
  19. DumondeTech @ 12oz(a Soda Can) to 5gal.
  20. W/o a doubt you should go to Service Honda, and put a 250r Motor in it.
  21. I do 12oz to every 5 gallons.
  22. I am very close w/ the local dealer, as I've been buying for over 10yrs w/ them and the sales manager told me that the Yamaha Rep told him this was it. I got mine about a month ago and had to track one down and have it brought in from over 2hrs away. What is out is what is left. I'm sad to see it go.
  23. They have been making dual Pipes for years. Back in '93 when my buddy raced Banshees w/ John Natalie, John was sponsored by Dynoport, he had the dual pipes.
  24. I think it would be fairly even, the Predator may actually beat it, stock for stock. I have an ATV ACTION magazine from when the YFZ first came out, they did a drag between that and the Predator. They said the Predator won everytime and by a fairly large margin. They got some straight line power.
  25. I don't think its even about getting a bike w/ mods for half the cost of new. I know for me personally, there is nothing like going to the dealership and pickup up YOUR bike. No one else has ridden this for you. Kind of like buying a new car. Ya know? Its more about making that bike yours. I know I will probably get blasted for this statment but, picking up a used bike can also be getting someone's headache. I know this is probably not true 90% of the time, but there are always a few floating around w/ info that the seller "Forgot" to tell you. As far as "What would you Pay for it then" that was posted above. Based on the first post in this thread. I would say for a 2000 w/ $1000 in mods, I know you wouldn't like this, but I don't think I would pay more then 3k. Because to me, I want to put my own pipes on there, I may want to use the bike for woods when you have some MX stuff on it. Everyone likes to make their own quad.
