  1. yeah, taking the lid off is a lot better then just the snorkel and if you do not ride in mud then taking the whole airbox off and drilling a couple holes in the plate ontop the filter and the air box front with a couple bolts chould hold the filter on. This will let your shee breath a lot better. Welome to HQ, im pretty new aswell. Darren
  2. so can u just sand the paint off all the stock banshee parts like the jugs, head, water pump cover, and clutch cover and polish them up, i would really like to do this, yamaha shouldnt have painted the parts black, looks like crap.
  3. one question, what do the spark arrestors(caps on back of silencers with 3 screws) do on stock banshee silencers.
  4. do you guys think my quad would pull fine with a 15 up front. I have a k&n filter and reeds.
  5. all i can say is i agree, also the stock for stock, the banshee is probably the most stable quad from flipping backwards or even flipping at all for that matter.
  6. i agree, you dont want to hurt the atv reputation more then it already is. it is not a very good idea but it will not hurt your performance, you can run banshees without silencers at all, as long as you still have the pipe on, your bike will be fine. the silencers are only made for what it says, to silence the noise.
  7. would it still handle it if you bumperd up to a 16 tooth. I have a shee with k&n air filter, no air box lid, and boyesen reeds, how much top end speed would i gain and would it bog at all with a 15 tooth? a 16 tooth? I just want to get more use of my gears, it seems when i go down the road, the gearing is too low to make use of the power.
  8. I mix mine 50:1, the less oil you mix in, the more power you will make but your engine will wear more. The more oil you put in, the longer your engine will last but you wont make as much power. 50:1 is the limit, any leaner and you may damage your engine but you can mix it richer. Mixing 32:1 to me is a little rich on the oil but i guess it is just a matter of preference.
  9. how often do you guys change your tranny oil. I have a stock shee and i ride about 10 hours a week and i change my tranny oil like once or twice a year.
  10. will a stock banshee have a problem pulling with a 16 tooth up front cause i have 20" tires on back and stock 14 tooth up front and it has no problem at all, will caddy in 4th gear with no problem and off the line, it will spin until i hit 5th gear.
  11. how often do you guys change your tranny oil in your banshee?
  12. i dont know about down there but up here in canada i think the biggest rip off is the price of gas. for all you huys that go rippin a lot, i bet if you added up all the money that you have paid for gas and oil, you would be very suprised. I go through about 40$ a week in gas and oil, and thats not even riding a lot, bout couple hours, maybe 6 days a week.
  13. you could get a +4mm stroker crank or even a +7mm and get some better pipes, depending on wut power band you want. top end power, get rockets, cpi, or shearer. low to mid power, get paul turners or pro circuits.
  14. im not a professional or anything at this but i can do them and the trick is to bring it up slow but this is usually only possible on pavement. You lean forward a lot and tap the front brake, then tap it again harder and then once more even harder and hold down (this is what i do) and if you do it correctly, then the bike should come up just fast enough that you have control, not violently or anything. As long as you dont come up to fast and get enough momentum, then even if you do go to far, the front bumber will hit and stop you from flipping, because the banshee has a low center of gravity. take note this is on a stock banshee with a stock bumber and any modifications to the banshee's dimensions will affect the outcome. Darren
  15. can u give me a price on the front yellow LE plastics please. pics if ya could, to [email protected]
  16. this is wut it says when i try: You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif
  17. here is the type i was talking about: fenders 1 fenders 2 still cant figure out how to post big pics. i clicked the img button when you reply and then typed the url in and it says that it does not support it.
  18. can anyone post a up-close pic of a fender that is shaved so it points forward like i've seen before please? kinda hard to explain srry.
  19. so wut kind of tire would have the best traction on like dirt trails and grass but wont wear too much on pavement. I-razr,knarlys', razr2, any others?
  20. a foam wut? filter?
  21. i researched for 2003 banshee cause thats wut i got but im pretty sure all the years can take the same k&n filter
  22. let me know if this is the filter you have. copy link into adress bar for filter: http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=YA-3502 part number: YA-3502 the precharger for that filter: http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=YA-3502PK part number: YA-3502PK I am sorry, i meant that you can take the airbox off but dont ride in wet conditions. I have the single cone filter and pics are attached.
  23. yes, you can remove the precharger but make sure you dont ride in water or mud cause that will ruin the filter. Also make sure you get an adaptor plater for the filter or screw it onto the plastic runners that go to the carbs. I have a precharger on mine but im not gonna take the airbox off cause i ride in water and mud n' shit, ill just take the lid off. I dont have the part number but im sure if you have a picture of the precharger then you can make sure it fits, or just post the pic and ill tell you if it is it. Hope this helps, Darren
  24. thanks, i think i will just get a tach from a sled but there arent many that got up to 12000rmp are there? I dont think my banshee revs quite that high but i dont want the tach to bottom out.
