  1. Shane...unless he is real tight on cheddar...tell him to get the chrome plated. It is Beautiful...pics don't do it justice...
  2. Just got my head on Friday... It is NICE!! Much fewer Orings (7 total)...very easy to work with.
  3. I agree...that is a little big....
  4. Ok...Ok...fair enough...LOL. There are days I still wish I had my 421.... My point is the bigger stage is with the bigger motors...that's all. I agree...then it's a lot more to encompass rather than specialize in one build, one pipe...and getting the absolute most out of it...!!
  5. Nice call...absolutely right. I've only had one cup of coffee so far...LOL.
  6. Yep...auto parts store before I'd walk into a bike stealership. I know Murrays, Pep Boys and Autozone all carry Never Dull...
  7. Up is link, down is no link... If you get a short enough shock, you can make it a no link. I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a duner, so...link is the way to go!
  8. Very possible, but I think he knows he'd be cutting himself short not to look ahead with all the BIG motors coming out, DMs, Cougars, etc... That's where the money is... I know there's still power to be made on the 4 mil cub, and it is still a VERY popular motor...IMO the best bang for the buck...but, a lot of new stuff on the horizon as well!
  9. Guys... Jeff is one of the nicest guys at the track and is also one of the most helpful. His bikes flat out haul the mail, period. IMO...swingarm shop is the BEST ebay swingarm builder, never heard/seen a bad one come from him. 120 for a 6 over arm is a steal...period. Good luck to ya buddy....
  10. I might be interested in the rear strut, if it's the length I need. If no one bites on the arm...would you consider selling it separate? Have cash..., if it measures out right for my needs. If you have time, between praying to the Dolphin gods and worshiping the Patriots, could you measure it eye to eye.... Thanks...
  11. First you have to choose your carb type. Kehins can not be converted back to gas once you drill them out for alky. Mikunis and Lectrons can be. Lectrons are the most expensive...but they are WELL worth it IMO. You drill the main jets out, depending on your elevation, temps, etc... Drill the dump tubes out, put bigger pilots in, and tap the carb bowl for a power jet (externally adjustable jet which sprays additional fuel into the carb) Plenty of people can do it. However, keep this in mind, like anything... A builder can get you close on your alky setup, it is up to you for the final fine tuning. And with methanol, you want to start out PIG Fat and work your way down. It's a great power gain, however....plan on going through one top end if you're lucky....a few more parts/labor if you're not so lucky... Bottom line is you need to flow twice as much methanol to your engine as you did gas....
  12. I use WD 40 and a real, real fine scotchbrite pad....followed up by a generous use of NeverDull. Never Dull is a wadded cotton tin with a chemical on the cotton, you wipe it on like a wax, work it in real good to the areas with a little rust, etc., Let it haze up, then take a clean lint free cloth and wipe it off. I had a set of RDZ/Shearer inframes that has surface rust pretty good. took over two hours per pipe...but man they looked good when I was done. Wish I would've taken before and afters.... Never Dull is good stuff...
  13. You can do it on a stock motor, however....to take advantage of Alky, you really should: Get it ported Bigger carbs to flow more fuel Free flowing exhaust More timing More compression Good idea/insurance to have the crank trued and welded for reliability... Just simply drilling out carbs to put on a stock motor probably won't be worth it....
  14. first, thanks for turning caps lock off.... After the rebuild, did you check clearances? Did you check piston to wall? Did you check ring end gap? What kind of oil are you using? What kind of mixture ratio? The carbs are clean, but are they sync'd. Did you actually remove all the jets from the carbs and clean it out GOOD? Pilot jets have very, VERY small holes. They clog easily with as little as a grain of sand or dirt...spraying some carb cleaner alone won't do it. I've taken carbs down to bare body and used carb cleaner and speaker wire/compressed air to clean 'em out. What about compression? Did you check compression? Are you using fresh plugs? Are your carbs put back together correctly? (Choke tube on, slides in the correct carbs, float bowls on the correct carbs?) That ought to keep ya busy for a while....
  15. You can easily get 90 + HP out of a 4 mil cub, you're not doing it for 2 grand though.. You'd need bigger carbs, better pipes, clutch...tranny mods, etc. My advice... Send your cylinders out to be ported AND bored if needed, the builder can bore them to match a set of pistons. .020 is awesome, plenty life left. Do a search on builders, there's a ton, ranging in price, turn around time, etc. Figure anywhere from 250 to 700 for bore, porting, pistons, gaskets, etc.... Since you said 2G's...you can easily do a stock motor bored and ported for a 4 mil, get a 4 mil crank.... Just get a dune port, with your carbs and pipes, 70ish HP would be very attainable, but, you'll have to bump the compression and advance the timing a bit...too. You may need to run race gas, but...ask your builder. 60 HP for 2Gs is EASY.... What kind of suspension mods did you do...by the way?
  16. REAL tough to start, damn near impossible...kinda shitty in the midrange, but it should pull/run pretty good on top, and at WOT you won't notice a difference....

probably like a guy that has a tatoo on his head...a little sore at first, perhaps some redness...but after that, like any other tatoo, I'm sure he was just fine...
  18. Nope...not saying he never was. But if he needs to renew, great...just never see a banner for him. Sorry guys, back on topic, promise. Are these coned pipes or stamped, does he plan on making big bore application as well? This could very well turn into a "my pipe is better because" thread, I hope not. I'm going to assume he ran these on a 4 mil ported by him, I'd like to see comparison runs on other motors, like a cleaned up cub, stock cylinder, etc. Of course, a price everyone can afford...too....LOL. There was supposed to be another pipe builder that never did materialize, all these choices might seem like a pain in the ass because there's going to be a lot. However, my take is the more options...the better. Good Job Jim....
  19. Got any pics? You know...it would be nice if Jim threw up some site sponsor money as others have. It's safe to say he's made a buck or two off members here, and he builds a fine motor I"m sure. It would be nice to see him give back a little... I think site sponsorship is like 800 a year, that's a couple port jobs....

Yeah, when you play sub par teams all season....like the boy scouts and the brownies....it doesn't take much....

I would like to see how many more teams did as well...placed under the same scrutiny... It's just like Nascar, you come to inspection knowing you're cheating on 10 things, you get caught on 8....2 get through. I guarantee there are a TON of other teams doing the same, they just didn't get caught.... If they were a shitty team, say....oh...I don't know, like the 1-15 Dolphins, no one would even give them a second look.... Not that the Lions are too far behind in that category...just saying....
  22. If you said duning and some drag racing, I'd say yes. For trails and MX, however, you'd be better off as said with a good woods/MX port for a reputable builder (please do a search on builders, it's been covered a gazillion times) RZ would be the next best setup if you have the patience to work through the wiring issues/electrical system to operate the power valves...
  23. No...but I'd like to. Are you sure it's a super charger and not a turbo charger? It takes a BIG set of brass ones to get on a turbo banshee, it separates the men from the boys real quick. They are just WAY too tempermental on carbs. Fuel Injection is the key for a turbo/super charger.

Pretty strong words for someone who claims to love the Patriots in his signature.... Sorry...only a few days left, I'm milking that cow dry....LOL. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  25. I was gonna say 4 corner seize... Are you letting it warm up before riding it?
