I've purchased a lot of stuff off of Ebay over the last 3 yrs & most transactions are problem free. SOME have been a total pain-in-the ass!! I've learned to contact the seller by phone before I bid. It seems to help to know that the person actually exists & I get their full name & phone number while talking to them. Also, if it's a dealer or store selling their goods on Ebay, make sure the're not a drop-shipper- usually these deals take forever to get your merchandise. My last piece of advice is to always pay by credit card thru Paypal-if you get screwed, call your credit card company & they will do a chargeback.

I need some help determining value...

Motor will bring close to $1000, frame $450 to $500, radiator $40, not sure on steering stem- maybe $50 -
If you're doing a rebuild, I would take both cylinders to a machinist & have them both checked for wear. You would probably be money ahead to bore both to the next size & replace both pistons & rings. Be sure your machinist does motorcycle cylinders regularly. Some guys don't chamfer the internal ports & if they don't it will snag a ring.

Change your antifreeze out & use engine ice. it will eliminate a lot of minor cooling issues.

I forgot to mention that we always put a toolbox on the front of our trailers, so the six inches behind bed centerline works well with this additional tongue weight.
-
how did you pay for it? there may be recourse.
-
we've built & modified several different trailers over the years. we always place the axle 6 inches behind the center line of the trailer (not counting tongue) & they always tow perfect.

I've never used that kit, but I can make a recommendation on a great place to send your cylinders for boring. Do a search on Ebaymotors for Lakesmotorsports. For $259.95 they will bore to next size, & send you a kit including Wiseco pistons, new rod bearings & circlips, & a gasket set. Turnaround time is good & they pay return freight.

I'm going to be out of town this weekend, but I'll try & post some after our Memorial weekend trip.

I bought an'05 Predator about 2 weeks ago. Overall, it's a very good trail bike, which is what I bought it for. I haven't taken it to the dunes yet. The front end does feel light & it will wheelie easily. Polaris has taken care of any design flaws they had in the '03 & '04 models, fit & finish & overall build quality seems good. The quad is a little porky on the scales, but it doesn't feel that way when riding it. It's a damn good jumper, with a killer shock set-up from the factory. I'm not used to the seat yet, feels funky compared to a 'Shee. It has decent power, but my '01 Shee will walk away from it in 5th & 6th gear.

I have a '01 'Shee with t-6 pipes, Noss 20cc head, trinity 35mm 2into 1 carb- this combo rips!!
-
Did you recently sustain a head injury????
-
Would you be interested in a 2000 'Shee for $2400? Has near new rear tires & FMF fatty pipes. Ready to ride.I'm in Garden City

you need to at least pull the plugs to see if it's too lean! look for specks on the plugs (white/grey) . if you see any, it's pieces of your pistons!!

Ive got a pond of about 2000 gallons. I use a Skippy filter (do internet search) that's fed by a submersible Tetra OFX 2000 pump. The filter box is set back about three feet from the pond-could be more if needed. The outlet from the filter feeds thru 2" PVC pipe into a waterfall stacked in front of the filter box (hides the filter. The other option you could use would be to move the filter further away from the pond & dump the outlet into a stream bed that would feed the ponds.

left cylinder smokes more than right
applpro replied to Black Ice's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Each to their own, but I can't see why you wouldn't do both cylinders at the same time. I think it's pretty important to keep the cylinders balanced (i.e- the same condition as far as compression, cylinder pressure) to within 10% of each other. Did you bore the cylinder or at least have it checked for wear by a machinist? -
I've got a new unopened kit from Vito's that I don't need. $60.00 including shipping. PM me.

I had a basically stock 'Shee with T5's before & I like the t6's better. I've chosen to leave the internals stock on Both 'Shee's I've got now 'cause there's no place to drag around here. The only competition around here is a bunch of basically stock 450's & so far I've outran every one of them. There are guys that can outride me (I'm an old fart), but not in drag races or open trails.

No pipe manufacturer can give the proper jetting for YOUR 'SHEE! They can give you a starting point, but you better learn how to make jetting changes on your carbs. EVERY quad is a little different due to many factors & the altitude, gas quality, oil mixture are just some of them. Do a search on here on how to do a plug chop & read the posts on jetting, you'll eventually get it right. There are many people on here willing to help out!

The instruction sheet says to run a zip-tie around the front of air filter & frame for support.
-
I can't give you any advise on brands, but rockymountainatv is the place to buy.
-
Contact Toomey for a dyno sheet on the t-6 pipes. On an unported STOCK MOTOR the t-6 kicked the t-5's ass.
-
You need to throw their advice out the window & check your jetting with a plug chop. Get the jetting right & if your 'Shee still overheats, start checking for cooling system problems. The solution might be as simple as running engine ice or you might find a problem with the water pump impeller. Mine was overheating occasionally, it turned out that the impeller was warped causing it to rub the outside cover which eventually led to the plastic drive gear stripping out.
