was reading atv action lastnight and there was an article in there about the 400ex. Evryone has been posting alot about the 400ex lately so I didn't figure it would hurt to put in here what it said. I'm not totally sure but I think every thing they put on it was wiseco, they put on big bore cylinder, hot cams, pipe and airfilter..after all the did to it they said it would run side by side with the 450r and the yfz450 pretty interesting actually they said all the extra power actually made it a better quad overall and that this is how it should have come from factory.anybody have a 400 like this I used to have one, figured it would be knarly for that little bike to have all that power............

Well the thing is with the lockup, is that if you don't have it, clutches are a hassle, being you have to remove the whole side just to change them.. so the lockup would be more user friendly and also boost up the clutch. def. a mod for the future

24;1 is really rich mix.....more oil=more money. you can run 50;1 but I believe any chnage in gas oil mixture you will have to rejet to compensate for the differences......also if your loading up at 24;1 its running rich.....^^^^ you want to get it where it will idle nice and not load....good luck and welcome

j/w about the lockup clutch havn't really put any thought into it but if I did get it could I still ride some trails? like not really tight trails but tight in some places......i usually hillclimb, ride dunes and fireroads i know it would be ok for there......right? just how about some tech trails guys?

As far as the pics I have.... those are meats. I'll check with him to make sure he doesn't care , because he sent me like 25 pictures of the mod itself but before I do send them, I would rather get the measurements and fab them up and get them installed and make sure everything goes smoothly so we can make a good how to do it yourself j-arm conversion so everyone doesnt ask anymore. I believe it would get alot of attention on here it'll be happend here in the next couple weeks so you'll be the first to get everything!

talked to meat he doesnt make the kits anymore but did hook me up with alot of pics and alot of good info but he didn't have any measurements to give me. so what I need to know is the measurements of the rear a-arm mounts thati have to make. I have a picture that I will mark down if anybody is willing to help, I'll email the pic to them of the measurements I need. thanks alot Josh

Well I have a good story of where pot & beer can get you! this was about 4 years ago when this happened. I'm 20 now 16 then young, immature not looking for a way to rebel against my parents or anything they're cool..... Anyway out here in the boondocks there is a couple of multimillion dollar golf coarses. I, myself and 2 other buddies decided to get all fucked up one night on turkey and smoke a little bud. Well the night truned disastrous when I find myself barely able to walk and found myself 5 miles from where we started on top of one of the golf coarses. So we're just walking around and a we started fucking up the greens no big deal its just grass........yeah right also I might add there was a truck 98 ford f-150 and a golf cart.....lol these also belonged to the golf coarse. we took the truck and golf coasrse hit the ridge where we proceeded to get drunk got the truck stuck in a hole and drove the golf cart home. 1 week later we got busted 3 state troopers showed up at my house... when all was said it done we had done $100,000 in damage to golf coarse and from taking the truck and golf cart. I got hit the worst out of all 3 I took the blame upon myself. Grnd larsony, grand theft auto, petty larsony,vandalism,joy riding , breaking and entering,and trespassing, Also I might add 10,000 dollar fine.... It sucked my record is clean now because I'm over 18 thank god but wait its not over with yet that following summer I got a job at the very same golf coarse where I paid back 5000 with the money I made from then and also got free golf..hhahha I havnt touched pot or drank much since then. dont really plan on it either. anyway theres my story.

as Stated above is anyone on here running +2+1 janssen mx arms with the yfz shocks. I have the shocks but didnt know if i should go wasting money on the arms if the ride wouldnt be good because i cant afford elkas.wooooo expensive

IT started out as a good day sun shining and all but it quickly went bad when the rain started coming down. we decided before we took off we were gonna go over the hill and make our way to a local sand scene. all was good and after about 3 hrs of riding we made it to the dunes. We were there maybe 15 min and everyone started rushing through the whoops (some are pretty deep) well on this one certain whoop it passes between 2 trees and just so happen my buddy that had just rebuilt his yfz 2 weeks earlier was (i say going faster than he should) and lost control going between these 2 trees and smacked the tree with his front right A-arms. It was knarly without a doubt it snapped the a-arms completely into with ease top and bottom the only thigs holding the wheel on was the brake line and the a-arm guard. It through him off but he was ok. and the laughter coming from us was ungodly. I have never laughed harder in my life. So now he is down for the springtime and no money to fix his quad. also I argued with him about buying a set of aftermarket arms and elkas. unfortunately he would rather have it stock not to mention the lifetime warranty on aftermakets...poor guy some of them just never learn have a good I'll get picks of it and post them the next couple of days.

I've read on dirtrider.net about people just sending they're cylinders to him I can't reach him hes open till memorial day And from what I understand hes busy I've read his site up and down and it tells you how to ship the cylinders. I just need to know if the porting is still $250 if so I'll go ahead and send them off with all the info....and money.....anybody beg the differ or live near his shop that may have some info?

Well I guess I'll just keep tying I'm not fond of the long distance phone bills though I really want a set of gorr cylinders specially since he is leaving country

I had the same problem when i got mine but i figured out thats its big time neanderthal to just go beat it with a hammer I soaked it up with some good degreaser and soaked it down with oven cleaner over night got a regular hammer and tapped it out the next day no problems since then........
