how long ago was that?and how was it stored?it wasnt left out in the weather?that crank looks awful rusty?will it roll over?I just need the tranny and cases.

you didnt hotwire it right somehow? I lost or someone stole my key.make sure your not letting any wires ground out and double check your connections.

do you know for a fact the tranny and all is good? it has all 6 gears in good shape and is there a shifter in it?

well banshee was running good and snap,clank ouch my fuckin toe! engine dies as im comeing to a rolling stop,im tring to find a gear. WTF no shifter action and damn my toe hurts. finally got off,see my chain hanging and oil pouring and I dont mean a little stream,from the bottom of my shifter. yep case busted all to hell,shifter will move back&forth about 2" and is pulled outward about 2" whats the chances all I need is a lower case? yall rekon I did any tranny damage? I know I gotta pull it all apart but I dont have the doe and am not in the mood right now. plus its been over 100 fuckin degrees here for about 3 weeks and I dont have a good shop. Ive redone alot of banshee topends but never fukt with the tranny,shit this sucks. Not my week! sorry for all the language just really pissed right now just happened a half hour ago.Anyone done this shit or is it just my badass luck.

I run 32:1 ratio in my shee,maybe you could try that and see how it workd for ya.

you should be fine I have a jug really similar to that on my bike,I dropped mine like a dumbass.I didnt notice any performance changes.

how can oil get out but no air get in?

I have homemade 7/8" reedspacers and stock carbs, I changed my clutch cable without removing anything but the radiator cover?

If its blowing back through the carbs you have bad reeds,if you have residue coming out from between the reed cage and jug you have an airleak and it needs to be fixxed ASAP!

Took me 30min to get in and post this? Somethings still not quite right yet. Running DSL and other sites work fine. Not complaining just letting you know there is still a problem.

I would get new reeds,filter and rejet for now. least amount of wrenching and $$$.

Well think of it like this,what could possably pass through the filter then the carbs then reeds make it through the cylinder to clog the exhaust? What you have described sounds exactly what happened to my friends bike,he must of had a jet clog on him at the drags,was running fine then one cylinder droped off,let cool changed plugs ran fine when refired,warmed up and the cylinder fell of again,and you could hear a noise,repeated process ran fine then dropped off again,I finally convinced him to atleast pull his coolhead,right piston looked like a pitbull had been chewing on it for about a month.When we pulled the jug,the skirt of the piston was gone as well.I couldnt believe that cylinder was running at all,ruined his jug(cylinder) there is a trench you could stick your thumb in where we guess pieces of the skirt had circulated back through the cylinder and got between the piston and wall,no way it could be bored out.Now if he had gave up and tore it down when the problem began he might not need a new jug,but there is also the odds that it was fucked when it first started missing?No way of knowing now.As easly as the banshee breaks down,I would definatly pull the head and take a peek.

Mines cold collerd like that,but once it warms up its fine.So I start it and let it warm up before riding. My buddys is the same way,I just thaught thats the way they are suppose to be? -
sounds like you may have broke a skirt off the piston?

bigger carbs and an adjustable timing plate or flywheel key and maybe a koolhead with some smaller domes to raise that compression.Then you can start on internals!

Theres your next step,I had one that looked fine but there were some worn fins,not broken off completely or missing just wore.It did OK out in the open running good speeds but when I let it idle and putt around it would overheat.

running it outa gas leaned the shit out of it,could have overheated an seized the rings to the bore.remove the plugs and shoot some wd40 in the cylinders let soak for a few hours and leave the plugs out,put it in gear and rock the bike back and forth to see if it unsticks.If that doesnt work tear it down,even if it has siezed the rings to the bore and it breaks loose,you really need to replace the rings anyway.

I run a wiesco basket with stock clutches and dirtbike springs,had dirtdigger clutches but they didnt last very long and a bud told me to replace them with the stock,so far so good. I have a mildly ported 4mil longrod stroker,also keep your oil changed regularly and use good oil like someone else mentioned that helps alot.
