i have a 2001 with a blown top end its got toom t5s k&N filter sduncan reeds its got a mild port job and the heads been shaved 40thou. the timeings also advanced 4degrees it has newer stock front shocks the frame has been painted yellow and the plastics been race cut front and rear and coted with 3m ruberized under coat. it has new berings in the axle and swing arm. i also have a set of stock cylinders that came of a running machine as well as a stock head the cylinders have had a knife job on the exaust port im oppen to offers i can send pics if you are intrested

the pistons are comeing apart the tops look fine but from the rist pin down is in a hundred peices

i need help i have a 2001 banshee that has been mildly ported its bored 50 over the timeings advanced 4degrees, toomy t5s toomy jets k&n pod filters duncan reeds and a boost bottle. it keeps blowing pistons at first it was the were just wore out so i replaced them with a set of numara pistons witch are crap for any one who wants to know i blew one to peices with less than 2hrs on the rebuild. next i bored it out to the next size to to some scratching of the cylinder, and put in a set of weisco pistons ran it less than an hour seemed fine then all of the suden it just died and it wouldnt kick over. i took apart and found another blown piston this time on the oppisit cylinder there weisco so i couldnt blame it on crappy knock offs. i checked the water pump and its getting coolant through the motor, the jeting was right on and there was plenty of oil in the mix i wansnt romping on it hard becuse i was just breaking it in so im at a loss im thinking something might be up with the crank or cylinders the rods, crank and berings all seemed fine when i tore the motor down so any ideas where to check would be greatly apreciated

I have a 01 banshee with a fresh rebuild i havent started it because my throttl cable is so frayed it wont work any more. ive been meaning to get a new one but all my extra cash is going to geting my camaro finised befor july. it has been bored 40 over the head shaved, port and polish, duncan reeds toomy t-5s chrome 4degre timeing advance new berings for the axle and swing arm the frame has been painted yellow and plastics have been race cut and sprayed with 3m undercoating wich holds up quite well ive done it to a couple other atvs. it has new aluminim handelbars, new front sprocket. teflone coted pistons with ceramic coted tops. i also have some slip on sparkarestors. a set of rear hole shots still in very good condition and a set of sand shark paddles that are like new. these dont have rims the bike still has factory tires on it the fronts are in very good shape and the rears are fair with no plugs. the seat also has a new cover on it i think thats about it i may have forgot a thing or to that ive replaced i also have a skid plate for it but i havent instaled it yet. the pic in my profile is the frame striped down wile i was puting it together here is another pic put together http://www.camaroforums.com/albumphoto.asp...tType=1&apage=3 I ORDERD A NEW THROTTLE CABLE AND SHOULD HAVE IT IN A COUPLE DAYS THEN ILL HAVE IT GOING now what im looking for i want a street bike for the summer for crusing as well as back and forth to work looking for something in michigan northern indiana or ohio id be intrested in most any thing croch rocket or WHAT EVER AS LONG AS IT IS IN DECENT SHAPE if you have something send a pic and ill let you know if im intrested i can also get more pics. i may even sell it out right make me an offer oh and I WILL NOT PART OUT OR SEPERATE ANY THING ITS ALL OR NOTHING

well glad you got something back it sucks it was wrecked like that. if you have insurance on it it should cover some of the repair that or homeowners insurance should cover it

i agree there are a lot of riders out ther making a bad name for the rest of us. rideing on privat property with out permision is wrong i dont care how you look at it. i live in an area real close to thousands of acers of public land. its not designated for atv use but has motorcycle trails that go all over and snomobile trails as well as 2 tracks. i ride my atv out ther even ran into the dnr a few times with nothing ever said been riding out there since i first started riding as a kid with my dad. there are quite a few of us in this area with atvs that go out there and never have any problems. then last month the cops show up at my door saying i was out tearing up the farmers feild down the road after showing them my banshee in peices ant that my other quads tires didnt match they left me alone. turns out it was the kids across the street thats twice they have caused problems for me. that and the guy who said it was me is the same person i have had problems with since he moved in hes just to chicken shit to come say something to my face. i can under stand some of the stuff the say i wouldnt want people runing across my property 1 they dont belong there 2 if the get hurt they can sue you when they were tresspassing. i dont know about you guys but m banshees loud and my sand rail is real loud i have to change pipes for the dunes. and i sure wouldnt want to listen to them all night. it sucks to quit rideing when your having fun but you have to show some respect for others other wise we will loose all of our areas to ride .

this is cool such a diversity of people on here i spent 4 years working on amtracks for the marines now i rebuild hydralic cylinders for just about anything out there. get alot of stuff from garbage trucks and compactors but if its got hydralics we can fix it. I may be moving to another shop to do welding and fab work. pays better to.

seems like a lot of people having this problem latley. as far as hard to start check your compression it may be time for a new top end. you can get a compression tester at most parts stores. if that checks out does it have spark on both cylinders befor it starts or after it stars. what do the plugs look like? swap the plug wires and see if you still have the problem if it moves to the left cylinder yo may need a new coil. might be in your carbs as well but i dont know much about that if you read some of the post on here youll find people with simular problems and a bunch off good stuff too look at. and if you have tors on your carbs still get rid of them the had me chasing ghost in my electrical system for ever. hope some of this helps good luck

ok i picked up a stock 1991 banshee sweet deal been siting for about 5 years or so 500bucks a steal it needs the top end rebuilt and the carbs were missing i have aset off stock carbs but need a new cable if any one has one out there. just geting into it so im sure il find more things wrong trying to get it fixed to give to my girl on her b-day in april

i had the sme problem a couple years ago turnd out to be the coil it checked out ok but i still had the problem so i got one off ebay cheep just to see if it was the problem and i havent had trouble since.

Id run an add in the paper you can runthem in the classifid section resonable rates usually tell what happend and warn others i went through a bussines class once were they said if a person has a good experiance the usually will tel 1 or 2 people if they have a bad experiance the tell 11. puting the word out hits them were it counts in the pocket

dont know if it could cause yor problem but ive seen vforce reeds colaps ito the cage on snomobiles

ok ill keep that in mind just for the purposs of testing ill take and pull the cylinders after i run it acouple times i have an extra gasket set any way it ran fine when i started it up the other day
