Thanks guys, for some reason I still cant find a forum on the blasterhq and I cant register there because it wont send me the activation email. Anyway I tested the compression today and it was 115psi. Is that low? also spark plug looked good and so did the air filter. I got some 110 octane gas and am going to see if that will help any. If anyone can think of something that might be causing the blaster to run poorly please let me know. Thanks again.

you have it bored 80 over and ported with stock pipes? Dude what are you thinking? You need to get some pipes on that puppy to really get some power. Ok now with that said my best advice is to go really slow and make sure you are putting everything together right. Double check and then recheck again. look at the manual as often as you can to check diagrams and such so you dont miss anything. Torque everything the way it is supose to be torqued. That is a very important step. I always keep a little bit of motor oil near by to rub on the gaskets as Im puting things back together. It helps seal better that way. Also use bearing greese where your exhaust meets the head. That will hopefully eliminate any air leaks you may have. God I cant believe your still running stock exhaust good luck with everything and let us know if you have any more questions.

What size Pilot Jet are you running? Are you saying that 360 mains runs good on the top end right now or is that what you had in there before the resent work?

Sure there are some "FORDS" that look descent but they're all pieces of shit. I had a 93 4X4 F150 and even the dang air vents fail out. Dont buy it get a real car. -

Hey guys, I need a little help with my girlfriends Blaster. Its pretty much brand new and has only been ridden a few times. Everything on it is completely stock. Lately when we have gone riding she says that it hesitates in each gear. Its like its got carbon build up and then it runs fine once you burn it off but I took it for a little test ride last time and noticed the thing was gutless. I know I might have just been used to my banshee but it really did seem to have about half the power that it used to. It is a 2001 and might have 5 good rides on it. Please help me out so I can get it fixed before this weekend. Thanks a bunch, Mike

I tried to figure out a way to get mine thru the door so I can keep it in the bedroom but the girlfriend doesnt care for that idea so shee just stays in the garage. Of course I have gone out there several times and just turned on the light to see it, even in the middle of the night when you cant sleep. -
How Reliable Has Your Banshee Been To You?

Well I have had several times where I was way out in the middle of nowhere and it started acting up but it has never left me high and dry. My issues have always been with operator error. Things like not knowing that the emergency brake would keep it from running right so I wrode it all the way back at 1/4 throttle. And the last few times have been because I had just done a crap load of mods to it and didnt have my jetting dialed in yet. Other then that the banshee is a bad ass machine! -
Also wanted to ask about the parking break and tors. I have heard of disconecting them but am not to sure how. If someone can give me detailed directions on how to do this that would be great. I have ordered a brake block off plate but it hasnt gotten here yet. I would like to get rid of the TORS alltogether but dont know what I need or how to do that so just disconecting it would work for now. Thanks again you guys rock

wow, ok guys I just came in from taking her for a test run and shee moves. Call me a pussy but that was close to scary fast. It may be because I am on a paved street right in the middle of the city. Anyway, after doing some research I found that the pilot jet that I replaced was in fact not a pilot jet. It was a small jet that you can see by looking in the side of the carb. So I fixed that and went to a 30 pilot jet. Now it runs but wont idle very well. It just dies if you let off the throttle. I have the air screws 1 3/4 turns out. I replaced the main jets with 300's down from 320's. Now I dont know if Im running to lean yet I havent done a plug burn but am getting ready to do that in a minute. I was getting frustrated with this whole thing since everyone I talked to was telling me to do diferent things. Some people told me to run 300 or smaller jets and some were saying at least 340's or larger. But I do apreciate all the help you have given me. If you have any advice please let me know as I am new to this and am just learning. The whole needle position and all I am still confused about but for now Im just leaving that alone. Anyway, I just got excited that shee hauls ass now and wanted to tell you all. Thanks again, you guys have been tons of help. Mike

its your parking brake. It could be out of adjustment or maybe just have a kink in the cable some where. Make sure that it isnt stuck on and that should fix it.

your main jets dont have much to do with it idleing. you need to adjust your pilot jet to maybe a 27.5 or higher. Good Luck

I hope I dont offend you in any way but there is a forum on the hq just for exhaust and jetting. You may get more responces if you post there. Wish I could help you but Im having my own jetting problems at the moment.

Part of owning a Banshee is learning how to work on them yourself. You need to know exactly what is wrong with it and to be able to diagnose problems on your own. As far as getting ripped off I cant say you did or did not. If the head was warped or something then that would be one of those things that might take 2 or 3 times taking it apart to figure out. It is a process of alimitation. The shop paid for the mechanic to do the work, they paid for the gaskets, and the anti-freeze. Working on your bike might have taken away from time spent on working on another bike which could have made them more money. Im no mechanic and have never worked for a shop. You have to look at the situation for their point of view and maybe you will understand why they still want to be paid for an unfinished job. However if they say $250 to fix the problem then they had better have it fixed for $250 and no questions asked. Just my .02 worth -
I dont like anything foam. I would go with the K&N 2 into 1 or the K&N clamp-ons. since you wont be riding in sand you dont really need outerwears.

420 Jets? did you mean 320 Jets? I dont think I have heard of a Jet that large. Just thought Id ask so Im not confused.

I dont check that little box and I still get a lot of Blaster stuff. I hate it when someone is selling a Polaris or something and in the title the say "not 4ooex, Banshee, etc". So did you find your gas cap? I cant find one for under $30.
