I'll trade my blue tether switch for a black one. Not one blue part on the bike except for this. Seeing if someone cares or if some one has a black one I'll buy it.
How would you know? Seriously. So what your saying is, your butt dyno is so good you can get the bike jetted, and timed perfectly and get every last bit of power out of it with out ever seeing a graph. You will know if the bike is down 4 hp because maybe you can bump the timing 1-2 degrees. You know the AFR is spot on through the whole curve how? Sucking on the exhaust?
I am all for people doing it them selves. I support small business and back yard mechanics. My motor was ported and assembled by a member here. Bike was tuned by him too. After talking to him I realized he knew wtf he was doing. Between his post here, talking on the phone with him, and seeing other bikes he's built I trust him. But he still sends shit out. There are certain things people just have no business doing, or not the proper tooling.
Drain shit, pull of kick start, brakes lever, pull clutch cover, pull 6 bolts holding pressure plate on off pull off the plate and springs, get a magnet and get the ball and rod out, pull up the actuator and it'll pop out.
Well this place did change. People aren't scared to speak up, the big suck fest stopped where it was just people telling everyone to go ahead and do stuff. The same questions over and over and over need to stop at some point. The forum has years of info that is still searchable. The change was for the better.
Get 27.5 and 30 start with the 30 air screw all the way in. Work it out 1/4 at a time to see if you can get a responsive throttle. Give about 15 to 20 seconds to determine if it helped or not. After 2.5 out and you can't get it right go to the 27.5 air screws all the way back in, same process. I bring the screws all the way in so I get full use of the jet and can get it almost perfect. Leave the needle for now. Once you get the pilot set and if it's still bogging in the mid you can do that. But for now, one change at a time.
Why not just get the Vito's super stock pistons with a relief cut to simulate a raised exhaust? It's a wiseco piston cut to Vito's specs. They say it's good for 8hp. I think that would be a nice improvement that you would notice
